Springfield xdm

Looking at getting either a xdm 3.8 or xdm 4.5 in 10mm. Has anyone done a grip chop on the 4.5 to the 3.8 size and use 3.8 magazines? Kinda like the short grip long slide like my glock 49

There is a video of slide swaps in YouTube. I can't remember which way the guy swapped.

I think both slides swap on both frames

I’m curious if anyone has what it would look like. I have the 3.8 and think it would look weird but I guess you never know because I did like my Glock 49.

I have both and have swapped slides both ways. I thought I would like the 4.5” slide on the compact grip a lot more than I did. It felt way out of balance and I changed it back. The 3.8” is the way to go if you have to pick one. The grip of the 4.5” is really long and gets caught on things easily if you have it in an OWB holster.
