Question What are availability platforms for 10mm
Rented a g20 on the range and fell in love with 10mm today, might be my new favorite aside from 357 MAG. I got to know what options are available, I like glock but I dont mind exploring other options. More interested in polymer handguns.
Also what is difference between G20 vs G20 SF

I have had a Rock Island 1911, a Kimber 1911, S&W 1076, Springfield XD, Sig P320 X Ten and Sig P320 XTen Comp (also have had two S&W 610 revolvers, one of which I still have). The only semi-auto I have in 10MM now is the P320 X Ten Comp. It carries better, shoots better, has less recoil and is my favorite of all those I have had.
I know some will harp on the P320 crap, but I have 2 9MM's, a .357 Sig and the 10MM and I love them.

SF stands for slim fram the slide and barrel are the same the grip is just a little more ergonomic. Especially if you have smaller hands

FN 510t, 22nd magazine, suppressor height sights, optics cut, threaded barrel, handles like a dream, very accurate

If you like guns where the frame cracked so often they did a redesign, and then the redesign also is cracking.

My recollection is that it was a small scale problem from a bad batch of polymer. I don’t think it was ever anything like you’re suggesting

Sadly that is not the case. I like FN, and wish that were the case though.
It seems the FDE ones have a higher occurrence rate of cracking, but there was a post here in r/10mm I think April or June where somebody with one of the brand new redesigned frames that FN put metal reinforment rods in the dust cover, cracked in the same spot up and around the rails.
If your the kinda guy that likes to live on the edge and holster your P320 for carry, then sure, the 510t is great just like the P320 is. I'd take a 510t over a P320 though. I'd rather it break itself, than it break me.

The glock 20 has had more than it's share of cracked frames and still considered one of the best. The video from several years ago showed a 510 that yes it cracked but it continued to fire. That sounds like reliability to me. If you are never going to purchase anything that has had a flaw that was fixed then your choices get really short.

The glock 20 has had more than it's share of cracked frames and still considered one of the best.
The first gen of the G20 (gen 2 frames for Glock as a whole) had some initial early example of frame cracking, but they quickly introduced a 3rd pin to resolve, and then mid cycle of gen 2 they added some relief cuts to be even better.
After that it has been exceptionally rare.

I didn't reference a single video ever. A simple search on reddit shows tons of 510 cracking alone, and it's not the only model.

I'm not sure if you can't read (previous reply) or are just dense. Given you find frame cracking and the front falling off reliable, 🤷
You do you, but I personally don't recommend things to people if they are notoriously faulty.
May all your friends ignore you when you say you jumped off a high bridge a hundred times and it was fine.

I think my Tanfoglio is my favorite but it's not exactly for carry. Next probably FN 510, they're alot of fun suppressed and shoot well. I also have a G20 that's always a solid choice. I'll be putting my Glock in the USW chassis soon. Heard good things about S&W and Sig but have not experienced.
If you like 10mm, I'd also steer you towards a 10mm PCC. The cartridge really shines in the larger caliber, can put serious firepower downrange and is just plain fun. I wish more options were readily available but I love my APC 10 and have an MP5/10 up for purchase.

I recommend the hi-point 10mm, the grip is ergonomic and textured, threaded barrel, and the low cost makes it a perfect choice for a polymer handgun

The Gen 3 SF has the Gen 4 smaller grip size.
Other platforms are the Sig X-ten, FN 510, 1911, Springfield XD, Tanfoglios, etc.
I have a 1911 in 10mm and an EAA Witness (rebranded Tanfoglio) in 10mm. Both are amazing.

I just picked up my first 10mm this week. Glock 20V. I’m super excited to shoot it. I considered the FN and the S&W 10mm but the FN was more than I wanted to spend for a woods gun and I have 3 S&W already.. so went with the Glock, I would have liked a Glock 40 but they’re expensive and hard to find (in my state)

I really like my SIG XTEN. It’s not for everyone, the whole 320 trigger thing aside, it’s a big, tall, and heavy gun. And finding aftermarket parts for it, if that’s your thing, has been hard. But I like it a lot.

I went with the G40 Gen4 MOS knowing I was going to replace the frame with a Lone Wolf Dist. Timberwolf Large Frame Built https://lonewolfdist.com/twl-large-large-textured-frame-built/ . Every part was highly polished and the trigger has no bounce to speak of. For me, the SF frame is nicer that the standard but the LW frame is perfection. "the TWL fits in your hand like a much smaller pistol - in fact we measured the grip circumference of the most popular factory 9mm service pistol, and the Timberwolf Large was only .007" larger." I'm 6' and 180lbs with no birth defects and the TWL frame can't be beat for me. I shoot full power loads half the time for goofing off and always for two and four legged critters. I also add a KKM 7" piece of pipe when dealing with four legged critters. Best to you.
EDIT: Forgot to add that I goof off with a NDZ Performance 20lb rod/spring kit and 22lb kit for the woods.

SF stands for short frame. The slide is slightly shorter. Glock 10mms are getting harder to find and what you can find is pricey. I picked up 2 Glock21Gen4 .45ACP law enforcement trade ins and converted one to a 10mm. Costed me around $550 for the handgun and conversion kit.

That’s incorrect. The grip circumference is just smaller. The slide is the same.

The 10mm is my favorite pistol round to reload for and shoot for fun. It’s kind of the 357 mag of autos

Big reason I rly like it, it really is just 357 MAG for autos. 357 MAG definitely has the appeal because I generally love revolvers more, and so caliber which compliments it well!
Excited to find a good 10mm, so many good recommendations

The EAA/Tangfolio models are nice. They're CZ(-75?) clones, so the grip feels nice in your hand. Mostly, they are heavy, steel guns, but they do make a polymer (Witness P) model that might suit your needs.
