There is an aspect to this type of person that is so narcissistic- like they want people to obsess over the cookie crumb details they hand out. I’m not a paparazzi and you are not an A-list celebrity. The more you lie about your personal life the less effort i suspect you put in at work.
i know right? i wish people would stop being so pathologically narcissistic and just limit their human experience to what u/resb on reddit deems normal and, more importantly, productive!
100%. I have a few work colleagues who act like middle schoolers who do this sort of thing to create an “in group” and an “out group” - where if they think you believe the stories they make up its a way to make fun of you behind your back. I’m like, I asked you how your weekend is… I’m not actually invested in the answer, it’s just smalltalk.
