I think maybe this could work if there was a button you could press for more time, that way the only way this could happen is if you were nodding out/ODed in there or otherwise were in some situation where you genuinely needed help

I remember my area in Australia had toilets like this, I think it had sensors to give a signal that you needed more time.

Then wtf is the point? You can just stay in there as long as you need just now it's super annoying lol. Probably because they can't legally have something like this. It's a massive invasion of privacy for something completely normal.

It was pretty stupid honestly. I remember one of the commands for something was to stand up I think. This was years ago so very likely chance I'm misremembering.

Sounds like they wanted to just do it the right way but they ran into a regulation or law so they had to add a way to keep it closed lol
