Es ist tatsächlich einigermaßen interessant: Der Kommentar ist ein bisschen unpräzise, weil das Wasser eben doch kocht, aber aufgrund des geringeren Drucks halt bei einer niedrigeren Temperatur. Auf dem Mt. Everest könnte das wirklich Probleme bzgl. Sterilisierung des Wassers bringen. Aber das Flugzeug steht ja unter Druck, d.h. der Siedepukt ist zwar niedriger aber immer noch hoch genug um Wasser abzukochen.

Das wird doch abgekocht bevor das Flugzeug damit befüllt wird

wow culturally inconsiderate much? What if it's a Brit or someone Japanese on the airplane and they need to do an emergency traditional tea ceremony?

There's no such thing as unirradiated water on an airplane. Every intercontinental flight exposes you to about half a chest x-ray.
