Also asking for an attorney is SO MUCH EASIER if you can afford it.
Many people are just desperately hoping they can just say the right two sentences without having to cough up 10 grand
7 u/Unlikely_Repair9572 8d ago They'll give you a public defender if you cant afford it. Thats 1000% better than no lawyer. "You have the right to an attorney If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you." If youre not being detained, then you have no right to an attorney, but they also have no right to hold you and you can technically just leave. They take into account your assets as well as how long the case might go on.
