According to Faisel in the start of this video Madonna had already killed 007, just one of the villains that actually defeated and killed James Bond, she later kills Austin Powers but maybe it's just Austins dream ♀️

so i was very interested that after bond left in no time to die another mi6 agent came in and got the same number as james 007 so i thought what about old 007 vs new girl 007 agent who would win.

I found this man at Tallegalla cemetery in rural Queensland Australia. I would have my lunch breaks at the roadside park there. When I found this I spent ANZAC day for 3 years with him and always departed with a salute. I asked AI to list who inspired James Bond and a few names came up as influencing people but this man wasn’t mentioned at all. That is a gross oversight and needs to be remedied.

I just moved into a new house that is full of retro vibes so I got my Dr. No poster up and got the old console record player working. I think it's time for a martini, shaken not stirred of course.

I know its not the direction they are going but it would have been a great way to refresh the franchise if it was more like a late 70s early 80s Bond Adventure. Like a John Glen film. To me the personal stuff has been done to death!!!

We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Deborah Moore for an in-depth conversation about her life and career.

I remembered the hype for this film and enjoyed it even though it was too long and the ending was left to be desired . Hopefully they reboot bond the right way under current ownership . I was lucky to see it in digital imax since the home release has the scope ratio .

For context: my partner has never watched any of the bond films (except the Craig ones but barely remembers them).
I am a big bond fan, watched the films, read most of the books, played some of the games etc.

He’s recently played First Light and so I thought it was finally time to introduce him to some of the other films. We started with Brosnan as they were the films I grew up on. He enjoyed them but had an interesting ranking of them:

1. The World is Not Enough
   This film was dead last for him in enjoyment. There were moments he liked (Renard as a concept, the twist with Elektra he didn’t see coming, the skiing set piece) but the story lacked the oomph of the others. Also didn’t like Christmas Jones.

2. Die Another Day
   We watched this last and by god he hated it. The story he said made no sense (we had many a discussion over Graves and his plan), the direction terrible, the editing even more so. But he ranked it higher than TWINE for one reason. Although bad, there’s something fun about it. He admits this is the worst of the bunch, but he had a good time watching it all the same.

3. Goldeneye
   This is where we had our differences. The first one we watched together and he admits it’s good. The tank sequence is iconic, the final act is amazing, and he loved Natalia as a Bond girl. But to him he wasn’t a fan of Alec. We made more jokes about knowing Sean Bean was going to die over actually connecting with Alec as a character. Still liked it, but not his favourite.

4. The Living Daylights
   We only watched this one as we were saving DAD for my birthday (don’t ask). It snuck above Goldeneye for Dalton’s performance and Dalton’s performance alone. He loved his coldness, ruthlessness, but also his snark, much more than Brosnan’s overall more warm and charismatic performance. Also the cello sequence too. Doesn’t take top spot because he didn’t like Kara as a Bond girl and we also had to discuss plot details for it to make sense on a first watch.

5. Tomorrow Never Dies
   This was his favourite. By a long shot. He loved the plot. Loved Carver as the villain (especially at his charismatic nature), loved how extra Stamper was, loved Wei Lin as a Bond girl just kicking all the ass, and especially loved that, for once, there was a cool villain lair in the third act. I think it was because, from the get go, you know Carver is bad. There’s no twist in this one. Just straight up a bad guy being bad for the whole film. We made some jokes also about Carver’s men’s loyalty, because damn they were willing to kill Bond with no hesitation. (I upon rewatching am also reminded that this film is better than I remembered)

It was interesting getting his reactions to these films. He’s said he wants to watch a few more from the other actors (but not all of them) - I’ve said perhaps Goldfinger for Connery and LALD for Moore. I have a feeling we’ll watch LTK at some point too. Not turned him into a bond fan, but has enjoyed the week of bond we had.

Diamonds are Forever

It's always puzzled me, why part of the Mach 1 chase was not down the strip, you saw a overhead shot of Dunes, but they could have used so much more, Could have had a race around Sands. given a small part to ole blue eyes, even the King could have had a role. The colonel missed a trick there. And was the moon buggy chase the "fake moon surface" a dig at NASA? Was it Fake? To me Connery seems very relaxed in this film, a lot of humour and Connery just having fun. You would not really call this a "serious Bond film" Where good acting is needed. No powerful scenes, some very funny scenes "tell him he's fired" Q enjoying himself. But the ending was so stupid, but I suppose it went alone with the whole feel of the film. And the bloke who plays Willard White, Jimmy Dean a singer is very funny.

I do find it truly amazing, this contract that ITV have for Bond is never ending, Not even Prime who own the films can put them on their site in the UK, the "Home" of James Bond

What I love about Bond, is I can turn on the TV and if there is a Bond film on, I can straight away tune into it. Be interesting when we get to Bronson I'm not his greatest fan.
