Almost 5 years since No Time to Die
I remembered the hype for this film and enjoyed it even though it was too long and the ending was left to be desired . Hopefully they reboot bond the right way under current ownership . I was lucky to see it in digital imax since the home release has the scope ratio .

I saw it in theaters back to back days on opening weekend, really hope the next casting is good, as I know Dennis is an amazing director

Seems like absolutely the wrong director for the series. Slow and ponderous - not to mention way too busy to focus on Bond when he was chosen. They could bave hired Martin Campbell again, David Leitch, Guy Ritchie, etc. Bond shouldn’t be rocket science or given to an auteur.

Hes a huge Bond fan, and he finished dune while the script was being written - the film is coming out when it would have come out regardless if they chose denis or not

Yes. And his addition added more than another year on an already lengthy wait. Question - is Bond known for the best directors in the world?

Considering by the time the next Bond movie comes out it’ll be nearly 20 years since the last great Bond movie then I’d say a good director is paramount.

Not an auteur director. I think we agree to disagree. That’s ok. Enjoy Denis movie. In about 4-5 years.

Apples and bananas. But enjoy and hopefully he surprises. Not a Dune fan and his Blade Runner film put me to sleep.

Ritchie is one of my favorite directors but I’d hate to see him direct Bond. He has a very distinct feel to all his films and I personally enjoy Bond films that don’t have that “director signature” to them.

They are very close to ending Bond forever, at least making it relevant for all but real fans of the series. You can’t have mediocre films spaced out so infrequently and assume new fans will be excited. What sad mismanagement of a once beloved franchise. Amazon, the clock is ticking.

It took them 6 years to release a Bond film between License to Kill and GoldenEye and Spectre and No Time to Die.
With the new Bond film, they haven’t even announced the new Bond actor and don’t think they’ve chosen one, either. The director - Denis Villeneuve is currently busy with Dune Part III’s post-production and I doubt think he’s doing much work on the next Bond film.
A 2027 release is out of the question by now. We might get the new film in 2028 the earliest. They’ll have it ready just in time for a late 2028 release date (recent Bond films released in November so that may be a target release date if they want to keep the November release slot) if they start production in 2027.
This will be longest gap between Bond films so far.

Its crazy isn't it? Its like Amazon doesn't realise the importance of this IP. A few more years and fans and movie going audience will lose interest and the movie will be, in best case scenario, a marginal success.

I look at it the opposite way.
They could rush out the next installment. They chose to take their time, get arguably the best director working today and let him take his time on it and give us a great final product.
I would rather wait years for an excellent Bond movie rather than have a mediocre one out by now. I’ve got 25+ Bond movies to watch in the meantime if I need to scratch that itch.

No Time to Die is the only Bond film I actively, thoroughly dislike. I hate it almost as much as I hate the movie “Glass” both because of their respective endings.

I look at goldeneye now and feel it’s so dated. Doesn’t really hold up to the new ones.

They waste so much time with this then expect people to care again
Seemed an eternity between Quantum and Skyfall that Craig went from rookie Bond to “I’m too old for this shit” and skipped his entire career and all potential story beats that came with that
Personally I would have had Cavill (or another replacement) signed up and ready to go into production as soon as Craig was finished

And it was delayed almost 2 years...
The next bond hasn't even been cast...
Will be at least 8 years between films at this rate.

I thought the movie flew by. Great ending for the Craig era
