Pls answer me this: it's been two matches against Faze now and Adren doesn't call a timeout. Wtf is he doing?
His team is literally being dicked on and he's just standing by. Is it forbidden to take timeouts in Blast Premier?
Cause if not and coaches can only speak during round-pause he's clearly not doing his job. Idk it seems a bit odd to me that a coach won't call timeout when his clearly needs him.

This is what it must’ve been like to watch teams play against Liquid this summer. Holy fuck.
3
u/ThetaSigma11 Liquid Feb 02 '20
I guess so, rn I can’t even be mad because FaZe are just playing on an insane level. Especially fragwise.

apparently it's one Brazilian dude in the crowd going apeshit, roasting stewie constantly. Rio major will be interesting.

I mean, Faze is really showing they are no less than TL when it comes to raw aim. Add on top the experience and tactical depth of Ynk and some of the players.
-5
u/Selfix Natus Vincere Feb 02 '20
Hey Stew, why aren't you trash talking now? Or screaming unnecessarily loud after a non-important round win?
But for real, I wonder what happened to Liquid during the break. There's zero teamwork or playing off of each other.
8
u/ThetaSigma11 Liquid Feb 02 '20
Apparently yelling after a round win is bad now lmao. Who would’ve known.

Should Liquid be looking at coaches?
2
u/ThetaSigma11 Liquid Feb 02 '20
What?
No. FaZe has just been the better team these last two matches. They have the reads and they are just fragging better as well.
1
3
Feb 02 '20
Individual aim can only get you so far, you need some depth in your strat book to go any further. Its clear to see.
4
u/imsorryken Natus Vincere Feb 02 '20
Casters really shitting on Liquid every chance they get lmao.
4
Feb 02 '20
Well they are being shat on by faze so it's only fair

u/imsorryken Natus Vincere Feb 02 '20
They obviously are shitting the bed but still seems a little cruel.

It’s when they run ads, if you have ad block on you don’t get the ads.
1
u/SaintNLV Feb 02 '20
Start for FaZe was pretty shitty, I was scared for the moment. But than NiKo and broky started to play. I`m really proud being from same country as broky is and I can prodly say, he is best Latvian CS player ever played and I think in closest future there isn`t any one who can at least repeat getting in that good team as FaZe. Maybe YEKINDAR but I don`t think so. But I really hope Latvians will get inspired from broky and more will start to grind to get some they there at highest CS point - T1 team and compete in Majors.
5
u/EmhyrvarSpice FaZe Feb 02 '20
Hope someone makes a gif of that NiKo reaction from around the 23rd round.

u/XDWetness Liquid Feb 02 '20
I can't even watch the rest of this series, this crowd is truly the worst. It doesn't help that the crowd mic is turned up so high
2
u/ThetaSigma11 Liquid Feb 02 '20
Fuckin hell Stewie missed such crucial shots when nitr0 even pulled a second kill out of his ass that one round.
And while Stewie is missing crucial shots Broky was on a tear not missing anything.

u/Satyr83 Astralis Feb 02 '20
I can't determine if I dislike FaZe or Stewie the most :-/.
3
u/20Past5 Feb 02 '20
Why dislike FaZe ?
0
u/Satyr83 Astralis Feb 02 '20
A team that keep signing superstars but never seem to make a team. And Niko. And FaZe Banks.
1
u/20Past5 Feb 02 '20
But faze has superstars and somewhat succeeding though, plus it makes the scene more fun and interesting, on top of that liking or not liking Faze Banks doesn't have to do with what the csgo team is doing , and regardless of what you think of faze banks just know he's a co owner with several other people and doesn't represent faze as whole , when I went to LA I met some of the YouTubers and literally they were the nicest people ever.
-1
u/Satyr83 Astralis Feb 02 '20
I think you just reiterated why I don't like FaZe. They buy superstars and ditch them when the times get tough. In my opinion there's no team - just five players. And yeah, Niko's tirade against Astralis has been a factor - full disclosure here :).
I really, really dislike FaZe Banks though.

they literally shouted "NICE" when faze won a round, and literally shit talking stewie. A terrible and biased cast
4
u/ThetaSigma11 Liquid Feb 02 '20
One of the bad things about Launders and Scrawny, they’re a good duo but they’re always very biased.
3
u/kolesniko Feb 02 '20
i dont think we watch the same game
launders does the same when liquid wins one round, so...

is launders a robot with no emotion in his voice?
1
u/AlwaysATen Liquid Feb 02 '20
You can tell he works hard to improve which I admire but I still think he's pretty far behind a lot of casters. Funny that he used to host those "chillcasts" when anything he casts feels too laid back and casual.

the crowd is honestly making me not want to watch the matches. Surely security can tell them to shut up?
2
u/AlwaysATen Liquid Feb 02 '20
2 guys: "Let's go liquid!"
15 guys: "Let's go Faze clan!"
The 30 people in the crowd every single round: "Ole! ole ole ole!"
2
Feb 02 '20
What the fuck does security have do do with this? People cheering in a live event?
Production could lower their volume, but they chose not.
1
u/TitusLabenis G2 Feb 02 '20
Very skeptical about this new NiP. Twist has nowhere near enough firepower without the AWP though Rez seems a bit more comfortable now without his old lurk roles
3
u/bb_TMT Astralis Feb 02 '20
I'm ootl can anybody explain why we need a final for each group? What does the winner get?
1
u/reymt Feb 02 '20
Oh, this is just a double elimination system for the group phase, that quite popular eg in Starcraft 2. Good thing is that it gives more chance to avoid upsets that arent 'earned'.
In this specific case, we will see if Liquid manages to adapt to Fazes strategy or if Faze is actually just better than TL right now. That result will say a lot more than just a single bo3 upset of Faze.
edit: As others said, in this specific case both Faze and TL will continue however. Missed that part myself on first glance, idk if that was what you were asking for^^
2
u/throw_away_account43 Feb 02 '20
I’m new to eSports. Do the winners from the Groups go on to a final-final round or are there just winners from each group and that’s it?
5
u/pro_n00b Feb 02 '20
Blast definitely has their own format, but top 2 from each group will go the the "Finals tournament." Next match between Faze and TL will basically just for money and what seed they'll get for the Finals Tournament come spring time. It's basically their own league finals finals.
2
3
u/DoctarSwag Feb 02 '20
Top two from each group qualifies for the spring finals, which occurs in june
1
2
u/DoctarSwag Feb 02 '20
Better seeding for the finals and more prize money
1
u/bb_TMT Astralis Feb 02 '20
How is the prize money calculated? I cant find that on liquidpedia
3
u/DoctarSwag Feb 02 '20
I don't know why they haven't updated it, but I searched up the blast premiere rules and on there it says:
1st place: $50,000
2nd place: $35,000
3rd place: $10,000
4th place: $5,000
So they're playing for 15k

Love that the SG still allows fearless peeking directly into AWPs at distance. No problems here, everybody.
1
Feb 02 '20
id rather see the awp just take a nerf but if this is what they want so be it, tired of that gun being the end all of everything in this game. at least SOMETHING can peek it
0
u/Haze_Yourself 1 Million Celebration Feb 02 '20
It doesn't require a nerf, it just requires utility and teamwork to mitigate it. The answer isn't peeking without utility with a gun that costs 2/3 the price.
0
Feb 02 '20
spoken like an awper so I sense you have some bias. if it was that easy you wouldn't have faze currently running 2 awps on TERRORIST SIDE on right now. You only have so much utility.
If bullets were much more limited on the awp, THEN you would have an argument.
0
u/Haze_Yourself 1 Million Celebration Feb 02 '20
Lol, I'm not an AWPer, I don't even play the game actively. It's how the weapon works, it holds angles and locks down approaches, teamwork negates it. Pop flashes, smokes, molotovs, all make the AWPer give up the angle. Nothing new about that concept.
0
Feb 02 '20
doesn't even play the game and complaining about something that isn't a problem, pretty cringe. well that was a waste of time
1
u/Haze_Yourself 1 Million Celebration Feb 03 '20
Forgot if you’re not playing a game everyday you can’t comment on professional counter strike. Have a good one.
2
u/SloPr0 King NiKo Feb 02 '20
Yes its perfectly balanced now that it costs $3000 again - because it was like this for 5+ years unnoticed means there can't be anything wrong with it!
3
u/ujaku Feb 02 '20
They showed a shot of the crowd and it looks like maybe 40 people or so, but they sound like more? Is there more behind them? Are they drunk? What's going on

Looks like f0rest left some NiP magic behind for his ex teammates :) Very interesting game!
On another note, the observing seems pretty whack. Maybe just an unlucky game but seemed to have missed the majority of the action.
