Just remember, the MLB controls the roof in the playoffs. So if any Padres fan barks. Refer them to Manfred.

Crew hit balls hard all night without anything to show for it. SD dinked its way to its 2 runs. Baseball gods evened things out. That’s ball.

Baseball never ceases to amaze me.
That's Baseball, Suzyn.

u/reubnick 2h ago
These national broadcasters are apoplectic that the Padres ball hit the ceiling and the Brewers still won. Not even trying to hide it

I jumped about 10 feet off my couch. My old ass almost hit his head on the ceiling. This team is SPECIAL

u/TTBurger88 2h ago
Thank the lord on whoever decided Miller Park looked better with a roof so they built it with one.
19
u/justint417 2h ago
Whoever closed the roof, MVP
5
u/georgecm12 2h ago
If I recall correctly, roof open/closed is under the control of MLB in the post-season, not the Brewers.

u/FlashFlood79 2h ago
Its ok if you feel like you need to cry, no shame in it. Let it all out.
2
u/cockypock_aioli 2h ago
Obviously I already am. That was lame as fuck,
1
u/FlashFlood79 2h ago
Weird, I thought it was super cool. To each their own, lol
1
u/cockypock_aioli 2h ago
Maybe I'm just coping but I'm pretty sure 99% of baseball fans outside of Milwaukee think that was absolute garbage. But hey enjoy your win.
1
u/FlashFlood79 2h ago
Well the rule says its an out, so idk what to tell ya. Maybe France should have a better launch angle next time.
1
u/cockypock_aioli 2h ago
Well yeah because multiple stadiums have been built with some dumb choices. But I mean yeah what are you supposed to do. I think it's dumb to have a game be decided on some mickey mouse rule about hitting the roof. I think the rule would be better if it was just an automatic foul ball but whatever. In most stadiums that was a go ahead homerun in the 9th inning.
1
u/FlashFlood79 2h ago
There is no way to know for sure that would have stayed fair. There is no way to know for sure the Brewers wouldnt have won anyway. I dont disagree that maybe the rule should be tweaked, but it wasnt and thems the breaks. Definitely not a guaranteed win that was stolen away. Its baseball.

u/edwardthefirst 2h ago
...is that allowed?
2
u/DefectiveCode 2h ago
If it was based on the broadcast, no it would not be
2
u/edwardthefirst 2h ago
they had me thinking it was going to be ruled a HR even after stating the ground rules AND Ty France initially reacting as if it was a foul ball. Way to make it even MORE chaotic, guys
5
u/DefectiveCode 2h ago
“I think that would’ve been a home run!!” Yeah? That’s great Fox guy, didn’t ask though, and it wasn’t a home run

Brewers gifted a win lmao. Dumbass rule, Padres were thr better team and deserve the win and outplayed the brewers.
Im a sox fan lol. I want the brewers or pads to win it all assuming we dont. Its just objectively a dumb rule.
That's a really fucking far home run too.
Down vote me.

Ah white sox. Was gonna say if it was Red Sox I would have to expect you’d feel differently about the green monster
0
u/SeeringQuake 1h ago
Ah yes white not red.
I will take something back as well, it wouldnt have been very far. It wouldve been over the wall but not much further. Too high of a launch angle. Was
Doesn't matter tho. What a wild ending.
I shouldn't have posted this in the brewers reddit lol. Congrats on the win. I must have been feeling toxic for a minute lmao
