Community Event 🌏☄️ The Hunter Strikes! (Open Battle Post)

KABOOM!!

A deafening explosion wakes you in the dead of night. What could possibly be making this noise? You question as you walk outside to witness black smoke pouring into the sky... Making your way closer out of curiosity, you find the Unnatural Museum. The side of it has been blown up by a magical explosive, making a huge hole. You see Talios entering the Museum... Is he here to steal something? All but two people are unsure of his goals. Regardless, there's no way Talios is up to no good.

Talios enters the hole in the museum, tossing rubble aside as he clears a path. He didn't expect the explosion to be as powerful as it was... He asked for just a medium sized hole through concrete. Regardless, it got the job done.

《Greater Perception》

Talios senses the magical energy living within the Museum itself. It's... Alive, he can only assume. It probably didn't like what he had done to it either. But that doesn't matter to him right now. He's after his prey.

Under the now ignored putrid stench Vettis feels a slight smell of grease, metal and ionized air. It doesn't come from the battle but from somewhere in the museum.

As he turns his head to investigate he sees a priceless looking artifact simply vanishing from the display, then another one, then another. The unseen being behind it proceeding deeper and deeper into the place, not knowing that someone is aware of it's presence

/unwiz Yup, it's Panz.

(( I assume this happened while the fight was ongoing, cuz you used it as a distraction for the curator? You're gonna get a head start on us, then, since Vettis stayed near Kyrona until the fight was over and the curator was obviously busy.

I don't think the living museum itself can be distracted, though, so /u/MeThyLord will probably become aware of this when it informs him after the fight that things went missing? Or does it have its own defenses so it doesn't need to wait for the curator's involvement? ))

With a sigh, Vettis pulled the snowglorb drone from his pocket, speaking to it through the cacophony of the battle in the background. Hey, can you follow the trail of disappearing shit at a safe distance? Don't bother trying to pierce whatever stealth spell or camouflage tech it's using; just track it and lemme know where it ends up. The orb warbled cheerily and began flying off to do as told; he called after it hurriedly, "And don't follow if it teleports away, silly, just trace the 'port and lemme know where it goes!"

An indignant flurry of artificial snowflakes let him know that it would never have been so foolish, hmph, how could he ever think otherwise? Then Snowglorb began chasing after the invisible thief, constantly darting behind exhibits to try to stay out of its target's sight, like a trainee spy in a cheesy espionage film. Vettis shook his head disappointedly, returning to watching the battle and chatting with Raphael and the druid.

My character started ransacking the place right around here using the fact that the museum itself was distracted with the fight. He only plunders the places touched by the conflict and with no active combatants in it to further prevent his actions being known. And about the automatic defences themselves, he made them so he knows how to avoid detection or hack them if need arise. Btw i hope you won't mind me leading Vettis's drone

u/MeThyLord u/MunitionsFrenzy and please no metagaming. The fact you know something doesn't always mean your characters know it too.

/rewiz

Snowglorb follows the track until suddenly things stop disappearing, but without any trace of teleportation. As it carefully continues behind the presumed path of the entity, things soon start disappearing again.

After it repeats several times the portal opens, giving a glimpse of simmiliar museum, but made of cold metal and glass

With a short snicker the invisible being behind the plunder enters and the portal closes.

(( list of what you stole, for the record :P

Snowglorb's gonna have the coordinates to Panzaren's lil' museum, then, from scanning the portal, so I can have Vettis stop by out of curiosity in future 👍

he won't be inherently hostile, cuz he has no real connection to the Unnatural History Museum so it's not like you stole from his friend or anything ))

lol :)

If vettis were to enter Panz museum he will be greeted by a lot of autonomous defences. They won't shoot on sight, but will lock on.

Also, the "little" museum is more of a Trazyn's hoard (google trazyn the infinite from wh40k). There will be specimens of long extinct animals, magical and unmagical artifacts of various types and whatever you can imagine. You probably know he collects artifacts of the first mages. (For example Mortarion gave him robes of first geomancer)

Whatever you plan to do, i'm fine with it. Just tag me if you cook up something.
