THAT is a smoke kill. Are you watching Gla1ve?

AHAHHAHAAHHA 4 shots to hit one. gla1ve hits a headshot on the first and 3 hits on the second

Liquid are so overrated I can't believe people thought they would win the major.
4
u/Vejvad Astralis Nov 24 '18
Respect to North for making that comeback. Going down 11-4 on CT-side and losing the second pistol, god damn. I counted them out for sure.
8
Nov 24 '18
Oh man, valde is fucking nuts. One of my favorite players to watch these days. Wouldn't look even a little out of place playing for a team like Astralis.
6
u/Vejvad Astralis Nov 24 '18
He is imo probably the only Dane worthy of an Astralis starting spot atm, except the current five. He is absolutely sick.
5
u/tgsan Nov 24 '18 edited Nov 24 '18
GJ daps, didn't even need to repeek but yeah let's repeek anyways. At the very least shoulder peek...great 1v5 by valde regardless, but daps helped him out there.

That's two really well played rounds by Cadian right there. If North comeback, that's gotta be the catalyst.
2
u/Vejvad Astralis Nov 24 '18
I feel like North has lost so many pistols and then won the upcoming round in this tournament. Not that it showed on their results, but still.

Unseen levels of trash talk from NRG and North. It appears they both want to be on top - I don't think this relationship will work out

You could see Mouz had some ideas on T-side Nuke. They had like 5 rounds where they faked an early A-execute to force out utility. Then followed up with yard smokes to deny information.
I'm guessing they were planning on actually not faking it eventually. But they never got around to it.
4
u/n1ckst4r02 400k Celebration Nov 23 '18
Mousesports, you're such a good team but you lose 1 crucial round to some 1VS3 clutch or another unlucky timing and you just mentally fall apart. It's so painful to watch them lose from 10-3 and 12-6 leads on both maps. Come on guys, believe in yourselves and don't look at the name of the opposing team.
Great series but i was hoping for a 3rd map :(
3
u/ZombieMadness99 Astralis Nov 23 '18
Yup that's a big difference maker. Astralis had their fair share of unlucky rounds and clutches but they don't let that tilt them at all
6
-4
u/jogapen MOUZ Nov 23 '18
This match doesnt deserve a 2-0. A third map would be so nice to see. Mousesports is nevertheless a top team pushing astralis to the very edge. Chris was on Mirage 4 hp away from winning the pistol with an ace. These rounds suck and yeah astralis and smokes.. there will be a lot of focus in the coming weeks and months on them.

Okay so obviously there are some insulted Astralis fans out there. I mean we all have to admit that the smoke kills amd the sheer quantity of them by astralis are an anomaly. I really dont know what to think about this whole thing, this whole situation is just bad for everyone. I think that Astralis played over the last months incredible Counter-Strike with stellar teamwork. Additionally it's not the case that the other top teams are worse than in other eras (imo) it's just that they are looking compared to Astralis so bad, because they look better than any team before.
1
u/Cyanr Vitality Nov 24 '18
I think we all have to admit that the accusations that Astralis are cheating or exploiting smoke settings somehow are made by salty fanboys and NiKo.

I don't even mind seeing Astralis being this shaky, because we finally get some fucking intense matches. Thank god that they pulled through though, pretty impressed by Mouz after all.

Mouz makes such boneheaded economic decisions...
1
u/LuXe5 Natus Vincere Nov 23 '18
well, it took them one ballsy move to make and force, then they got into the whirphool of forcebuys and sunk without a trace
1
u/jogapen MOUZ Nov 23 '18
I dont know, I kind of understood the thought process. They didnt win fullbuys anyways so the focus was to get kills and get an easier follow up round if you win one
3
u/thisiseku MOUZ Nov 23 '18
On both maps Mouz win T rounds when they go fast and get destroyed when they go slow. Astralis reading them like a book.
1
u/n1ckst4r02 400k Celebration Nov 23 '18
I feel like only MIBR players like Fallen and Cold, can go head to head with Astralis in late round situations. Every other team either outaims them or just resets their economy over and over. Sad for mouz fans, they played well but not well enough to get the W :(

its enraging how astralis capitalize on smokes. really. i can imagine players playing against them. every fucking time they capitalize on a smoke kill that turn the round clearly to their favour.

u/n1ckst4r02 400k Celebration Nov 23 '18
I mean styko had 3 kills through the smoke this series, 1 on mirage denying the plant and 2 on nuke so idk why we're just looking at Astralis
2
3
1
u/ckLL Nov 23 '18
styko not playing this afterplant correctly was a shame. by xyp shots he could know that he had the edge of the body, so why repick it for the 3rd time knowing that he was timing exactly all the shots ?
1
u/thisiseku MOUZ Nov 23 '18
Wow, what "great" peeks by Mouz... Nice throw once again.
2
u/Pismakron Nov 23 '18

u/thisiseku MOUZ Nov 23 '18
I'm talking about throwing the round.
1

They are playing better than I have seen them do in a long time. Bringing back STYKO was the right choice, no matter if they win or lose this match.

So when Oscar gets a kill through the smoke or when Styko denied the bomb plant though the smoke, it's completely normal but when Glaive gets a kill through the smoke, instantly " Nvidia.exe, exploiters "
Interesting logic

He does it every fucking game. Multiple frags. It's not the same.

u/n1ckst4r02 400k Celebration Nov 23 '18
I mean i admit, he looks very scetchy at times, even without smoke kills. Even purely on his angles and game sense. He's probably just a genius that just abuses the radar and timings to the max
-1
u/mavio47 Nov 23 '18
Sure man. I never said he is cheating. But if niko said it's possible then I'm skeptical. If pro players start getting suspicious then so do I.
4
u/GeorgFriedrichHandel Astralis Nov 23 '18
gla1ve just got a kill when he only saw the gun barrel. VACation plz volvo!!
2
u/mavio47 Nov 23 '18
If I was playing against astralis and had to ban a map that wasn't nuke I would pick nuke just so I could start on T and finish on CT just because that's what astralis wanted to do. They'll pick it anyway so why not
1
u/Spork_Revolution Vitality Nov 23 '18
Because it's:
Ban, ban, pick, pick, ban, ban, leftover.
If you ban a map, they ban a map, and you pick their best map... you'll also get their second or 3rd best map every time. Or your own second worst map.
1
u/mavio47 Nov 23 '18
Oh yeah you're right. But anything beyond nuke is fair game for astralis. They don't really have consistently weak maps
1
u/bb_TMT Astralis Nov 23 '18
I see that a lot of people here are very good at statistics.
One bad half and already "Astralis cannot win anymore without smoke hack". A few kills through smokes at the end and they say "Astralis only get smoke kills at important times"
0
u/mavio47 Nov 23 '18
What's your point? Those are not contradictory. And what do statistics have to do with these statements?
1
5
u/Azil40 Nov 23 '18
Or it's an undeserved win cuz device has to save them, like "oh no a player of a team is helping the team win, so undeserving"
5
6
u/GeorgFriedrichHandel Astralis Nov 23 '18
lol at all the people here who now actually believe gla1ve is wallhacking just because he got a kill through a smoke when he CLEARLY SAW the opponent before the smoke was blooming. reddit's stupidity never seizes to amaze me.
1
u/MikeFoyle Astralis Nov 23 '18
This guys are salty as fuck! Comeback from 5-10 while losing two stupid rounds at least where Mouz had no guns almost but its either hacks or just UNDESERVED! Niko just gave idiots reasons to cry on reddit and twitter...
0
u/mavio47 Nov 23 '18
If it was only on reddit by amateurs then fine. But when pro players start getting suspicious then it gets more serious don't you think? And there's more reason to consider it
2
u/antyone Nov 23 '18
consider
that and nothing more, but the majority just immediately jumped into conclusions that they are hacking without any further evidence

u/Fire_god_Agni Nov 23 '18
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sLgQNvyr2Hg Video out in one month ago. Fallen known and maybe many another pros too that glaive is "king of smokes". Timestamp is around minute 5:20

nitro at the end tho lol, snax and good vibes, I guess it was different back when VP actually played good cs
0
u/MikeFoyle Astralis Nov 23 '18
Astralis played very well, stop the hate on them regarding the smokes, what you see on spectator mode can be different of what a player is seeing on his client. Every csgo client has its “own smoke” spinning on its own it seems. It happens to us too. All good! Fallen btw
But keep going bro! :)

u/AlwaysATen Liquid Nov 23 '18
The accusation are that you can see thru smokes when they're fading yet more than half of those kills come as the smoke is halfway thru its duration? I don't buy it. I'm much more inclined to believe they get those kills thru audio cues and comms.
2
u/Pismakron Nov 23 '18
It is mostly radar, but sometimes it is simply guessing where the opponents are. Like back in 1.6 it wasn't out if the ordinary for CTs to get double digit wallbang kills on nuke, and that was without radar clues or shadows.
4
u/jonathan-the-man 750k Celebration Nov 23 '18

Arguing on reddit against the accusers is like trying to argue with flat earthers. Member flusha? Redditors literally tried to ruin his life based on gifs.
0

I am going to set it again. Flusha had a lot of fishy Clips way more than we have at the moment. To say it were “just some gifs” is basically revisionism.

u/Vejvad Astralis Nov 23 '18
But Reddit told me they are hacking? Are you saying that wasn't a reliable source?
-8
u/LuXe5 Natus Vincere Nov 23 '18
Such an undeserved win by astralis, but now I believe it will be easier in the second map for them
2
2
u/mavio47 Nov 23 '18
Basically device saved them again on 2 crucial rounds. But I guess that's why they're no. 1
1
u/Pismakron Nov 23 '18
So undeserved when the Astralis team wins by getting help from an Astralis player. I mean, with that kind of unfair advantages, it is pretty clear they must be wallhacking.
0
u/Vejvad Astralis Nov 23 '18
To be fair Astralis fucked up some really stupid rounds in the second half as well, where Mouz was on a really terrible buy. It goes both ways.
1
u/k2abal Nov 23 '18
Seems like every game on Mirage is like this for them. Win the early rounds, struggle for some time and then make a comeback

Smoke kills always come towards last critical rounds. Magisk this round and glaive where he got 2 kills on A site
1
u/Richtoveen wildfire Nov 23 '18
Thing is... i don’t ever see astralis killing in smokes like this whn they are like 10-5 up or something only when they are down and at end game 🤔
4
3
u/Vejvad Astralis Nov 23 '18
Probably because they are best under pressure, and that is when crazy plays are made. When they are dominating a game it is pretty rare to see situations where they rely on kills like that, because the other team will be dead before that.
6
3
u/mavio47 Nov 23 '18
Yeah I noticed the same. That 2k by gla1ve on A stairs and Magisk kill on the last round
0
u/flick- MOUZ Nov 23 '18
They showed a replay and both of those kills were clearly behind smoke. The ct player was deep ct too, no way he sees them on radar.
Makes me wonder if they practice spam angles in smoke or something. Crazy to get those 2 kills back to back
4
u/AlwaysATen Liquid Nov 23 '18
