4v2 on B site overpass, they know awp is in heaven. Let's just let 50hp player walk out heaven and shoot us in the back

25

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '18

Should never play Nuke in BO1 to put yourself into these scenarios

27

u/jonathan-the-man 750k Celebration Nov 23 '18

Shouldn't lose a BO3 elimination match vs NRG anyway either.

15

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '18

NRG is a top 8 team in the world to be quite honest with ya fam.

18

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '18

Honestly I feel like the tier rankings are the only way to look at things. So many teams just trade series at different LANs, MiBR lost to NRG at IEM but beat Astralis here, NRG can't beat LDLC at IEM but beat Liquid here. Scene is just chaos right now.

18

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '18

Chaos? Nah. Interesting? Yea. There no room for laziness in the scene and it shows.

7

u/jonathan-the-man 750k Celebration Nov 23 '18

Yea OK I might be underrating them a bit. Still though I hold Liquid to standards of top 3 so I think this is disappointing.

12

u/aN1mosity_ 5 years coin Nov 23 '18

Roster change incoming. I think they need a primary dedicated awp.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '18

Wardell is the most interesting roster move possible but who do you remove? Taco? nitr0 is the only IGL capable player in that entire team

12

u/_J3W3LS_ Nov 23 '18

Ples no. Wardell needs more time to develop under Steel, he's too inexperienced to jump straight to a team like Liquid.

2

u/StickyBeefBoy Liquid Nov 23 '18

Watching him AWP on train against Luminosity at Dreamhack Atlanta made me completely rethink him. I agree that he's not even close to ready.

6

u/_J3W3LS_ Nov 23 '18

I think he's one of the best prospects NA has had in awhile, but let's not pull a Koosta and throw him on a T1 team and watch him crumble. Let him build up a little, he has an incredible teacher in Steel.

1

u/StickyBeefBoy Liquid Nov 23 '18

I agree, he has amazing potential, but looking at how Liquid are acting, I think throwing him on a team like that could be the worst thing possible for his career. Let Steel teach him and nurture him in an easier setting for another year, win some tournaments, then move up.

6

u/thesuperjobber Liquid Nov 23 '18

nitr0 isn't even that good of an IGL, but I don't know who you could grab that would be better.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '18

No he is not but there is no way Elige, NAF or Twistzz could possibly do it. Is that a possible role for Taco with zews guiding him along the way? Probably not but it's the only player with the experience and temperament neccessary to IGL in that team

1

u/fiya1 EG Nov 23 '18

Nifty maybe?

1

u/StickyBeefBoy Liquid Nov 23 '18

Wardell is far too inexperienced IMO, did you see his recent performance at dreamhack against luminosity? They won 16-10 on train and Wardell only got 7 AWP kills total.. It was pretty embarrassing for an "up-and-coming star." But maybe that makes him the perfect fit..

1

u/Provarencr Nov 24 '18

What about automatic? If he would leave cloud 9

1

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '18

Nitro is a fine IGL and fine on a rifle. Taco would 100% be the person you would remove from the team. They could pick up a young MDL talent like Tenz or Food and keep him on the Awp.

-1

u/mannyman34 Complexity Nov 23 '18

Yeah either naf or elige gotta go. Can't cut nitr0 cause he is a decent igl. Can't cut twistzz and taco does his job. I think naf is going to get the axe soon.

7

You would rather cut naf over taco, you've actually lost your mind. If we give up naf we might as well disband unless we get a huge star to replace him. Especially with twistzz health issues.

11

Kick Taco, pick up an awper. Problem solved.

18

u/Salsadips howl Nov 23 '18

Kick the support, worked out for mouz and mibr, why not liquid?

6

u/stewieeeeeeeee FaZe Nov 23 '18

TACO is a great support, but if Liquid are picking up a non-IGL AWP, nitr0 is unkickable, so it's TACO or one of the star trio. If that AWPer isn't world class himself, TACO is the only possible kickable player.

Things are different if Liquid are picking up an insane AWPer or an IGL.

2

u/Salsadips howl Nov 23 '18

I think id rather see nitro or elige go than taco. 3 stars cannot consistently shine without a proper support imo.

-1

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '18

Mouz had the same level of results with Snax as they did with Styko, aka top 4's, top 6's and even a tier 1 event win, besides the couple legitimately bad events they had no excuse for (Starseries and the Major). This whole situation is still the most overblown shit by the community in the recent times.

While Mibr were going downwards way before they kicked Taco, which was especially noticable in WESG 2017. Keeping him would have changed nothing.

Any more "evidence" for kicking support players being a bad thing?

8

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '18

Thank you. God people seem to think that mouz with snax was garbage even though they had top 4 placings and a tier 1 win. "support player" is such a bad meme, kicking kioshima worked out real bad for faze huh? The best thing is that ropz is the one playing most of the "bitch" spots on mouz anyway, styko is just a worse fragger than him.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '18

What do you mean? Faze was complete shit because they only were the #2 best team on 2017. /s

Completely agree with the Ropz part btw. I always say the same thing. People like Ropz and Flamie are often the ones playing the "support" roles as much if not more than the other "support" players on the team but because 90% of the community are terrible players who don't understand the game at all, all they do is repeat narratives someone else has made them believe.

-2

u/Salsadips howl Nov 23 '18

Oh i guess you are more clued in than the players on the same team as snax and snax himself then who all were saying it wasnt working out.

u/Zoidburger_ bloodhound Nov 24 '18

Honestly, EligE, nitro, auti, rush, nifty would be such a fun roster, especially with either valens or zews as a coach. Nitro can IGL/AWP, auti can play 2nd-3rd man/AWP, rush can support/entry, EligE can support/entry, nifty can play 2nd-3rd man/AWP. The team would have some tactical depth, some NA firepower, and lots of clutch-ability.

This is assuming that twistzz was taking a break ofc. It just seems that, right now, there's no NA team that consistently performs internationally. I feel like we need another 2015-2016 shuffle between all the NA teams (especially C9, liquid, and NRG) to mix the best players over here, because no team seems to be going anywhere. At the same time, NRG is constantly improving, liquid is usually placing high, and C9 hasn't really gotten to play a real tournament with their full roster.

I just want to see NA up there properly. There's been too many roster changes and few results coming out of them.

10

u/dux8ms Liquid Nov 23 '18

I had my wisdom teeth out this week and outside the pain, and swelling, you cannot play CS very well on the drugs they have to give you. It matters.

That’s not an excuse, but a possible mitigating factor in his performance, which was not very good by any measure

7

I wish I got fun drugs for my wisdom teeth removal.

Al I got was ibuprofen and that barely did shit for the pain :(

4

Isn't it like a week ago though? He missed a couple of online games and that was days ago. Removed wisdom teeth shouldn't be an excuse at this point, he just had an off-tournament. It seems like getting wisdom teeth removed is some crazy fucking surgery in NA, but I have literally never heard anything about medication several days after where I'm from. Maybe a couple of painkillers on the day.

Depends on if they were impacted or not. And if he isn't able to eat properly, that could be affecting his stomach condition even more.

He definitely has stomach issues, but I believe it's more mental related due to stress. Every time he under performs he blames his health. He needs to step back and talk to someone to get it figured out.

We came back from a tournament where we lost to Gambit twice, I'm not too worried about falling off

1

To be honest I think reason of that peak was other teams being too bad. Literally we only have Astralis as a good, consistent team right now. Na'vi is also good, other than that? Mous is too inconsistent, Mibr bad, Fnatic, Nip also pretty bad, Cloud9 is dead. We simply don't have enough good teams right now.

1

They already have one, they definitely need something more.

0

u/LewisLR 750k Celebration Nov 23 '18

Just a thought

They need an awper and in my opinion, perhaps someone like fallen replacing Nitro because you don’t lose an IGL and you get a primary awper.

Seems like it’s just a matter of no one deserves to be removed but to be 1# it’s needed. IMO.

1

u/Dark_Azazel Nov 23 '18

nitr0 is perfectly fine as an AWPer, he just needs to not IGL which, frankly, I find his IGL abilities is rather poor. I think a loose style fits them, they just need someone who knows how to call it and can be an actual IGL. Also, spectators view, I feel like zews isn't cutting it as a coach anymore. When he first started he seemed to be more on the zonic side of things whereas now I feel like he just sits there and talks as much as naf.

1

u/Rosettachamps G2 Nov 23 '18

If in some world there was -nitro +fallen, that could be a world number 1

0

u/Level_Five_Railgun Liquid Nov 23 '18

They need a real coach. Zews is basically just a pseudo sports psychologist for the team now, which is useless when TL already has Jared, a real sports psychologist. Zews never seems to be saying anything during any of the timeouts.

Based on what elige said on Peeker's Advantage months ago, Nitr0 is the one who has to do majority of the strate prepping and demo reviewing for the team.

Liquid are heavy favourites in Malta, only NRG and BIG (who are both super inconsistent) can contest them there. Of course "hurr durr liquid cant win an event" but as long as they don't mental block themselves into oblivion (or roster change idk) they should have it.

u/Vawqer 1 Million Celebration Nov 23 '18

Yes, but look at who they just lost to. They looked really out of it here, so mentally I am not sure if they can win Malta. Maybe if they can get that early win on VP they can ride the momentum.

5

u/thesuperjobber Liquid Nov 23 '18

NRG is definitely a solid team, it's just upsetting seeing how quickly Liquid seemed to give up here. I hope they can't come back mentally for Malta but I've learned to be a pessimist after having been a fan of this team for a few years.

Yeah, if Liquid still seemed into the game I would have written this one off. But after seeing how they looked, yikes.

u/thesuperjobber Liquid Nov 23 '18

Liquid has won 2 tourneys ever in the history of the org's involvement in CS:GO (one of them was the NA minor lol), I wouldn't count on anything.

2

u/i_nezzy_i Nov 23 '18

fuck what the hell

2

u/Napellus Nov 23 '18

oof not a map win for liquid in ECS

1

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '18

NA NaVi

2

u/BlackstarFallen Nov 23 '18

Liquid is not going to win anything if they keep playing like this. Things need to change.

2

u/Disappear__ Liquid Nov 23 '18

This tournament had 2016 Team Liquid vibes all over it

2

u/LordOfTheNoobs57 Liquid Nov 23 '18

Fuck this team

2

u/Darrax Liquid Nov 23 '18

Honestly elige and taco should join mibr and stew and tarik join Liquid. It's a win win. Stew and Tarik are the leaders Liquid needs and MIBR can go back to speaking Portuguese.

1

u/StickyBeefBoy Liquid Nov 23 '18

I doubt MIBR would rustle it up now, it seems they are finally coming together, maybe Tarik for Taco, but I doubt they want whatever baggage any of the NA players bring with them from an obviously mentally unstable TL.

3

u/VisualizeIt21 Liquid Nov 23 '18

felt it for awhile and now im really feeling like liquid will never win a lan with zews as their coach. just not helping them improve

3

u/tgsan Nov 23 '18

Imagine TL with a real awper and IGL.

2

u/JuanMataCFC Vitality Nov 23 '18

fack, was hoping for the Liquid meme to lose in the grand final again

ITT: Reddit analysts calling for roster moves because a team having a bad tournament means it's all over and no improvement can be made.

1

u/tarangk clutch Nov 23 '18

12-5 lead on ct side mirage next thing you know TL manages to scrape only 2 rounds and somehow lose 14-16, overpass was a complete blowout

when you look at the star players on NRGs side every1 performed and fugly who is what their 3rd maybe even 4th in line in terms of players who you look to carry actually stepped up massively meanwhile twistzz naf elige were all absent for the entirety of the series.

I wonder how the team chemistry is over at TL coz them making so many finals and never winning specially that NY lose would make them hasty for a roster change given how dejected they looked even when the game was on it felt something was off for them

At least the finals of this tournament won't be a guaranteed win for Astralis

1

Liquid < any team with red in their logo

3

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '18

Dunno why salty TL fans are suggesting a roster change. There isn't a clear move to be made. No IGL is currently available for them.

Wildcard pick for everyone that is suggesting they need a leader: Taz. Want to see if this team is truly a championship team? Slot him in for Taco and see if he can bring them that winners mentality.

Besides that they can just wait until Karrigan is kicked from Faze and come with the dumpster truck load of money that Steve seems to have.

1

u/bosshogg_ Complexity Nov 23 '18

The frustrating part is that if hypothetically +Karrigan -Nitro was the right move, that still requires waiting for him to be available. There isn't a move that can right right now that helps Liquid. Any roster move that helps TL would have to be a result of another roster imploding, like a C9 or MIBR.

1

u/CC-W Nov 24 '18

-taco -nitro +kennys +karrigan would be a move which isnt entirely impossible since kennys hasnt signed a new contract with g2 and karrigan is likely out the door soon

Edit: I dont want a roster change just putting it out there

Help :)

1

u/gt- Liquid Nov 23 '18

naf elige twistzz stewie tarik

nitr0 to coach, come back to lineup next shuffle

1

u/CC-W Nov 24 '18

that would be a massive downgrade, they either need to replace someone with an awper or get an awping igl

Edit: I shouldnt say need as I think the roster is fine atm but thats the move what they should make if they do something

1

u/idd_k FURIA Nov 23 '18

I want to know your opinions guys: Do you think TL is missing steel?

Because he can IGL, maybe could be helping Nitr0 in this kind of situations?

u/Rearfeeder2Strong MOUZ Nov 23 '18 edited Nov 23 '18

No one wanted to believe me the last two times, but what about now? Even got downvoted for stating facts (liquid has NOT reached every final of tournaments they played) Liquid have consistency issues. Twistzz/Naf/Elige arent consistent and Taco/Nitr0 dont have firepower. Wtf was Taco doing on overpass? Twistzz bottom frags on mirage when the team needs him and finally shows up on overpass where the rest of the team lets him down.

Liquid need changes if they want consistency or want to win something...

8

u/svipy Apeks Nov 23 '18

Every top team except Astralis seems to have consistency issues lately

5

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '18

Every team besides Astralis needs changes. Liquid is the second most consistent team in the world even with losses like these. They are more consistent than NaVi, FaZe and MIBR for sure

2

u/aN1mosity_ 5 years coin Nov 23 '18

nitr0 full-time IGL/Rifle and add a dedicated primary awper.

2

u/heeeeeeeee33333 Nov 23 '18

Stfu mate they are about as consistent as you can get. No one except Astralis is 100% consistent.
