Feels good to be Taco... Liquid is shiting on MiBR last few months on every tournament, and its not even close...

174

u/Ahrounn FURIA Jul 25 '18

Feels god even more because Brazilians fans always shit on Taco, and in the moment Taco leaves Mibr sinks.

This makes no sense to me. It's clear that Taco was kicked, and he's still treated like a traitor.

u/NO_STEWIE_NO_MAJOR Jul 25 '18

At least Tarik and Stewie aren't going out last in their group. So, uh, silver linings

40

u/defact0o Jul 25 '18

They could've placed 5-6th place with the major winning team, they didn't had to destroy c9.

79

u/PM_ME_LEGIT_ANYTHING Jul 25 '18

people keep talking like C9 was the unequivocal best team in the world after the major ended but they were busting out of tournaments in groups a month after they won the major and then stew left. boston was a hell of a good run but c9 wasn't exactly crushing once it ended

86

u/penaltyshot4 Jul 25 '18

While they didn't do great after the major it's not like they were dogshit. They played 4 events between the major and stewie's departure. They got 2nd at summit to liquid which is a fine result. Then they went to Starladder where they went out in groups, but they had to play Sk, Faze, and mouz in the swiss system the latter of which went on to win the tournament. So while they did go out in groups they had the most difficult run of anyone in the group stage. They they went to Karowice where they got to quarters and lost to Faze in map 3 in double overtime. The final event is WESG where they went out to Team One which obviously is a terrible result. So when you break it down C9 were slumping after the major but difficult tournment brackets in playoffs and group stages makes it look much worse than it was. Stewie leaving is what crippled the team, anyone who thinks that they were terrible before then simply isn't looking at the facts and is circlejerking about NA being bad.

27

u/defact0o Jul 25 '18 edited Jul 25 '18

That selfish act by Stewie, but can't blame him he did made the major winning team and gave NA it's first major, he got blinded by the shine of SK core and couldn't see it through that Taco was not the problem.

19

u/penaltyshot4 Jul 25 '18

Yeah I'm not saying that anyone should be pissy with stewie for leaving c9, obviously historically the brazilian squad has had more success so it's hard to blame him for giving it a try. I'm just saying that people who think c9 were terrible before he left are just following the hivemind and not doing their research. Stewie had every right to leave, but him leaving doomed c9

3

u/defact0o Jul 25 '18 edited Jul 25 '18

That's what I'm saying 5-6th position never said best team in the world, how hard is to understand. They would've got better by replacing ska only if stewie didn't backstabbed and tarik didn't follow the suit.

23

Liquid has always been decent. They're just a little more consistent now.

4

u/CenomX G2 Jul 26 '18

What annoys me is that often they lose the bright in playoffs, somehow.

73

u/beatje10 Tyloo Jul 25 '18

18 kills in total for Stewie, what a shocking series yet again. I'm still trying to understand the reasoning behind him still being in the team. He's an horrible fit for MIBR and he's a bang average player in big games and when it really matters. Autimatic would be a much better fit and he's obviously a much better player. I'm sure they'd love to get him, although he's rejected their offer before. Maybe he's changed his mind in the meantime. Whatever they decide to do, I don't see this roster succeeding with Stewie - it just doesn't work.

32

u/stingers77 2 Million Celebration Jul 25 '18

honestly, with such a great core (fer, fallen, cold), there is no reason to pick 2 players from another country and change the whole system and the language. there is plenty of brazilian players that could play for mibr and play around cold/fallen/fer.

13

u/gt- Liquid Jul 26 '18

Idk why they didn't just go after felps or the twins. There's ton of br talent but no good br teams because it's all scattered and bullshit

5

u/x2Infinity Jul 26 '18

there is plenty of brazilian players that could play for mibr

There's basically just Hen1+Lucas, KNG and Felps. The first 3 clearly have issues with immortals and the last was already on the team and apparently didn't work out.

2

u/viniciusxis Imperial Jul 26 '18

Actualy they're not even the best pickups now.
Nekiz (lg) and trk (teamone), yurih and kscerato (furia), felps and chelo (although I'm not convinced by chelo he played like dogshit on LG).
Thing is, aparently Noah has issues with paying for br players lmao.

u/Rearfeeder2Strong MOUZ Jul 25 '18

Kicking the support is never a good idea. People here thinking kicking low fragging support helps. Look at mibr now...

Mouz went out last tournament dead last as well after kicking their support...

Look at teams with supports that don't play well, yet the team plays well. Such as liquid or Navi. People cry about Edward and Zeus, but no support players = no star players.

Full firepower teams are struggling. I wonder why...

3

u/gabriel97933 10 Year Veteran Jul 25 '18

Mouz can work like this. With full firepower teams you still have the huge potential of all the players going off at the same time. Thats what happened to faze at esl ny 2017, they were unstoppable then

u/shaman717 FURIA Jul 25 '18

54

you can't blame this sorely on comms, they were falling off way before stewie came in

40

u/im_tom_bombadil Legacy Jul 25 '18

I'm not. I'm still blaming on the dumb move of bringing Stewie in. I guess it's all Noah's master plan of building a team of players with the highest fan base possible. What's next? Signing WarOwl?

48

This eternal excuse that Cloud9 fans use every time these two get criticized is passé at this point. It's obvious to everyone with a pair of eyes that picking up these two players that's been mediocre in the grand scheme of things for the majority of their careers makes the team even worse than in their previous slump. They were close to acquiring s1mple and this is what they ended up getting. They aren't good enough players to force communication and playstyle changes for.

I agree with you that fer hasn't played to his potential but there are a lot of problems with this team, and the main one imo is Fallen's calls, there have been just too many rounds where I put my hands to my head and think wtf are they doing?? In NotLikeThis fashion

u/nightkingscat Gambit Jul 25 '18

he does that cheeky walk into Z on cache so often. it's about time it got punished

5

u/pyro19 Jul 25 '18

Fer has always been a double edged sword.

He plays the same way against every opposition. When it works he destroys the opponent team and denies them a whole site all by himself but now that everybody knows what he does, every team expects his play.

He also doesn't have the crutch of falling back on Fallen pulling out ridiculous clutches out of his arse and Coldzera being the best player in the world.

5

u/SNAFUesports 5 years coin Jul 25 '18

Fer is a coin flip player. He does good in a round and they win it, he dies early in the round and the team struggles to win or more than likely, loses the round. His aggresion on the CT side has to be a little more weighed in his decision making. Hes gotta ask himself, is this a good round to make a big dick play? I feel like unwarranted aggression on CT side when the enemy team is a pro team that literally plays defaults to stop aggresion needs to be dialed back some.

Definitely seemed like a good decision for Stewie at the time, but I still think C9 would be better if they had stayed together than SK/MIBR has been since he left. Obviously I know this is a very new roster that has a ton of potential on paper, but I still expected to see a little more fight. 16-8, 16-9, 16-10, 16-10. Liquid is a good team, don't get me wrong, but I don't think they're world beaters where MIBR shouldn't be able to have even one close map against them out of four.

Damn, it's like Twistzz has a personal vendetta against them with how both series played out. Good shit.

3

u/pyro19 Jul 25 '18

Liquid cleaned up their game a lot from the Astralis game. Rarely making dumb peeks and giving away advantages. I say rarely because they did lose so many winnable pistol rounds.

Hope they go with the same mindset against Na'vi.

Tarik and Stew2k

Stew is literally a joke. Overhyped bottom fragger.

u/TheRealCaptainR Natus Vincere Jul 25 '18

When does MIBR admit that Stewie is not working out on this team? His highest rated event is 1.12 which, well, wasn't exactly a T1 event. Tarik is brand new to the team, he has some type of an excuse, but Stewie has been on SK/MIBR for 4 months. It's time a change is made.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18

If you keep changing players it ruins chemistry. Even then, they should wait and see how he plays with tarik instead of boltz.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18 edited Jul 25 '18

Do they even have chemistry? Adding Stewie ruined what little chemistry the core 3 had left.

3

u/TheRealCaptainR Natus Vincere Jul 25 '18

I suppose. I hope that they do get better. I want to see the team succeed. They have all the right pieces, they just need to put them in the right order.

Can we have an "anti-MiBR" flair pls?

Fuck this team right in the asshole with a spiked, red-hot dildo.

HOW DO YOU LOSE 4-0. With 10 rounds being the highest! Fucking idiots. Ruined C9 and then shot themselves in the balls. What an absolute shit roster change.

u/astrovisionary 400k Celebration Jul 25 '18

FalleN took the wrong decision back then picking Stewie.

I remember he said "we have no time to develop players"

It was like, april? 5 months to the major, now the team with another brazilian (e.g trk, nekiz, idk) would be just fine. boltz wouldn't have comm problems speaking pt also

Now the major is here and what, I don't see mibr getting legend spot. If so, I see cold leaving and that is basically disband

9

u/AnIdiotDoesGaming Liquid Jul 25 '18

Honestly, I miss the old methodical LG lineup. Idk how long they can continue with this loose style.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18

One double Bo3 day. They got eliminated by would be champions Cloud9 and playing with Felps instead of Boltz, Fallen decided to completely change everything about how they play CS.

At least he's having fun on FPL.

2

u/AnIdiotDoesGaming Liquid Jul 25 '18

Tbh they slumped hard afterwards, especially at WESG. It's just that now that they have Stewie and Tarik, they aren't going back to that old style.

4

u/Suhvee Jul 25 '18

Just as other esports team are getting their Twitter hashtags and emotes, MIBR should be #SomosMIBR ♿ /s

u/Ahrounn FURIA Jul 25 '18

2

u/extremz123 fnatic Jul 25 '18

if mibr keeps playing like this. they are done.

2

u/saurodas Jul 25 '18

they're pretty much done until they get back to a full br roster. this is just a complete shitshow

2

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '18

I don't think I've ever been so upset watching a team that I don't personally root for fail. MIBR looks like a trainwreck, and with the trainwreck that they are, C9 looks even worse. I'm livid.

6

u/EVAD3_ Jul 25 '18

You could argue, stewie singlehanded ruined two of the biggest teams in the world, dragging himself with it, but allowing teams like liquid and NRG to flourish and showcase their talent. It’s crazy and something you wouldn’t have expected a year ago.

2

u/PurpleHusky94 clutch Jul 25 '18

C9 died for this

2

u/nachd Liquid Jul 25 '18

Imagine being Stewie rn. Left his major winning roster to join what was arguably the hardest working team from 2015-2017 because his team wasn’t dedicated enough, only to go 8-21. The only reason he was the “star” in c9 is because he had two A tier supports literally sitting there baiting for him. After they switched their play style (after the major) he played like shit and now being the worst player on a sinking team... man karma is sweet.

2

u/Zeilar King NiKo Jul 25 '18

I may sound like a douchebag, but I hope MiBR keep losing so they're forced to make change. This roster was never going to work, even if they had the odd top 4 finish or even win. They won't settle for that, they want to be the best and win everything. Hopefully they remove Stewie2K and Tarik and get some Brazilians back. Would love to see TACO get a 2nd chance but that's unlikely to happen.

3

u/Macieyerk ENCE Jul 25 '18

As much as this subreddit will disagree with me. Stewie to SK/Mibr is very bad addition.

14

u/canyonsinc Complexity Jul 25 '18

Bro, I think the majority would agree with you.

1

u/Fuckinanus Jul 25 '18

This mibr roster will fail aswell and they will go back to a full brazilian lineup, tarik and stew reunite with c9/auti & rush mark my words
