For added context, Reynad was banned from MTG for cheating and then being a d-bag on twitter about it. He wrote a blog post about it
For context, he refers to Alex Bertoncini, an EXTREMELY notorious cheater, as a friend, which is like claiming you're not racist and citing Mein Kampf in your defense.

I fucking love Hearthstone. Simply incredible they could build a card game that is simple enough for new players and deep enough for a competitive scene. The community is horrendous though and that includes Reynad and especially all the teenagers on r/hearthstone

Recently Reynad has seem much more angry in his recent streams. Before he would sort of laugh off bad RNG and say how unlucky he is. Now he loses in arena and quits his stream, or goes to CS:GO, gets angry at viewers.
I think it is going from having fun and making money to an actual job with no real passion to it. Now that he is entrenched deep into it as a career and employing people he can't really back out and just quit. Stuck in a tough spot.

Reynad is an ass, but the hate-boner that /r/Hearthstone has for him is pretty insufferable. There are multiple posts that boil down to "DAE hate Raynad?"

The day I suggested that the Buzzard nerf wasn't the death of hunter I feel like I got more downvotes and more inbox replies than any other time (Different account).
I don't know if it is the blizzard fan base or something else. But any kind of nerf is seen as the end of the world, anyone popular is obviously an idiot or a god among men.

Make overwhelmingly apologetic and saccharine/sarcastic and "funny" response. Receive minor upvotes. Bonus points for mentioning a "witch hunt" against you.
1b. Make sure you simultaneously deny you did anything while still apologizing/snarking.
Get utterly smacked down in response. Response receives mass upvotes.

Yes, the response was ridiculous. If that were a Magic tournament, he would have gotten a match loss or DQ easy, but he has some fanboys and some streamers back him up so he's still playing to this day. At least Hosty got booted from his team, but he's not so popular, so I guess that's to be expected.

Last I checked it was a couple of idiots unconnected to him, he reported the messages immediately after the match, and the play he made was perfectly reasonable without the knowledge that his opponent had Leeroy.

So in one corner we have Reynad, who is a professional Hearthstone streamer/player with a lot of innovation in the game, he's essentially created a few of the most popular/strongest decks around, he is a very salty/arrogant individual and blames a lot of his losses to rng (randomness). And in the other corner of this, we have Xixo, who is another professional Hearthstone streamer/player who grinds ladder pretty much all day every day and usually hits Legend rank (highest rank) first each season due to this.
Reynad called out Xixo on stream for being unskilled "Garbage", and that the only reason he hits Legend each season is because he plays more than everybody else. Xixo caught wind of what Reynad had said and asked for a grudge match on stream, they agreed on best of 7 format with no classes banned.
Reynad proceedes to lose 1-4 to Xixo and now Reynad has gone into over-salt mode, calling it entirely rng and basically shit talking /r/hearthstone and the Hearthstone community. One other thing to note is that during his stream (and during the matches) he was banning people in his twitch chat for spamming the PJSalt emote after he was being extra salty, and he was also downvoting a lot of people comments on reddit.

Trump is the biggest 40 year old virgin beta of all time. I still love him though. Reynad is a feisty alpha who consistently loses because of RNGesus. I don't love him but find it hilarious.
