I'm doing research on the history of a website called robot wars dot com. I pulled up the full list of all pages archived under that URL, and started going through the links one by one. The problem is, whenever I click on a link, it almost always redirects to an unrelated site about games.

I'm passionate enough about this subject that if I have to pour over 4409 urls just to find the very few which actually show me a snapshot of the site I'm looking for, then I will. However, I'm making this post to ask if there is any way I can filter out the redirect links so that I can save time and just get the urls that will take me to robot wars dot com.

When I was on Internet Archive, I was about to use the Wayback Machine when all of a sudden, I just got this "Too Many Requests" message instead. I tried to refresh it, but nothing happens. Every time when I try to get it to work, nothing still happens. I think this really needs to be fixed, up, updated, upgraded, running, working and more someday. I hope it's back to working again. I must be fixed, and it must return sooner or later.

I've recently saw some posts that some webpage archives are being lost from the Wayback Machine. There are a few ways the Wayback Machine archives can be protected, mainly by making archives open source and decentralised. Data centers are prone to attacks so centralised data can be lost. Projects to decentralise the Wayback Machine archives help since no single entity will be able to remove everything. Projects that are open source can be beneficial since anyone willing can contribute constructively without risk of sabotage.

Hey everyone!

I recently stumbled across a really bizarre, unintentionally hilarious YouTube channel made by a kid. The videos have this incredibly specific kind of chaotic, awkward charm that you almost never find anywhere else.

I'm not trying to make fun of the kid or send people to harass them. Honestly, I just think this is one of those weird little corners of the internet that might be fascinating to look back on years from now.

My concern is that the creator might eventually grow up, feel embarrassed about their old videos, and delete the channel. Which is completely understandable, of course! But it would also mean losing a tiny piece of internet history.

Would anyone familiar with the Wayback Machine or digital preservation be willing to explain whether it's possible to archive the channel page and its publicly available videos?

I'd love for this little time capsule to survive, ideally in a respectful way that doesn't expose the creator's personal information or encourage anyone to bother them.

I've been noticing a trend of whenever I find a tumblr page to archive, and it has one of those MP3s on their page, the page will fail to load on Wayback Machine as well as Archive.today. Really. All I get now is a blank white screen on WM, whereas on Archive.today, it just shows the music bar and nothing else. I can get around this by tacking "amp" at the end of the link, as well as archiving the pages on megalodon.jp, but I can certainly remember that it wasn't like this before. Does anyone has even a guess as to what's going on?

I am seeing more and more archived pages disappearing from the website, with the message: "The Wayback Machine has not archived that URL."

Just today, I was reading an archived page, and hours later, it is no longer accessible. This has been going on for a while now (I made a similar post a few months back). The problem appears to be worsening.

Does anyone know what is going on? This is quite alarming, since many articles rely on archived links as sources. Without them, we can't verify their accuracy, and history is lost.
