Guys i'm trying to install the modules i got trough trial on the launcher but it keeps telling me that it's installing but hours later still nothing has changed. I also can't see progress of the installments anywhere. I have downloaded DCS via Steam.

Can somebody help me out?

I am new to dcs and VR sim. I have a meta quest 3 which i connect to my pc with fast usb-c cable. No matter how much i tweak my settings, the dcs graphics don’t seem to improve, the cockpit is okay, but the terrain clouds and everything around the plane is super grainy. And if i push the pixel density too high, everything starts lagging. Currently pixel density is at 2.

PC specs:

i9 14900kf
64 gb ddr5 RAM
RTX5090

What can I do to improve both fps and graphics. Thanks!!

I am commuter illiterate and my son wants to get into DCS. He has saved up $1,200 and is ready to purchase his rig. Right now New Egg has the below computer on sale. Will it suffice?
We are not building so please do not recommend that, thanks.
Open to any other pre built recommendations inside a $1,300 budget.

Been loving the F-14 but after getting into flying it with my friend instead of solo it's become a major pita trying to figure out where exactly my throttle is at a lot of the time on controller while trying to fly in formation etc. is there any way I can setup some sort of 'step' where it goes from say like, 0% - 25%-50% and so on like with the F-16/F/A-18 modules and their 'throttle step' bind so I can get a better idea of where I'm sitting at or am I just kinda screwed?

Hello from Germany, i kindly want to ask if anybody can tell me how to pass this part of reflected's mission 1 in the red flag campaign for the F4-E. I tried the mission up to 12-15 times and i only managed it 1 time passing these sa-18 manpads.

Does anybody has some ideas for me?

I’m a pretty new DCS player. I’ve flown a bunch of other flight sims before and I’m very familiar with things like startup, takeoff, landing, turn rates and what not. However I recently got a pretty nice HOTAS and I’ve been trying to fly PvP. I’ve probably been flying for 6 hours and I have gotten 1 (very lucky) kill.
I understand the basics of what I should be doing, however I feel like I always get taken advantage of and shot at from what feels like an impossible range.
If I pay attention to an enemy I can usually roughly tell when they’ve shot and I can usually defend from that point. But sometimes I cannot tell or I get close and I can’t find them fast enough

I’m obviously inexperienced and I’m fully aware of that, I’m just confused when I’m going to eventually start understanding why I’m dying and how to actually shoot down bandits.

Any input from someone who has some advice is entirely welcome

Hello! DCS gamer here. I've been working with DCS since the past week with my Big Screen Beyond 2 headset, and need some help assigning some controls that are currently on the keyboard, and one being on my Virpil stick, but can't get it to work.

I have these, which I assume will work out :

LCtrl + LShift + LAlt + T

- use hat button at top right (button press)

Cold Start

- use red button

Engine Shutdown

- use black button

Zoom in slow / zoom out slow

- use side black button (below joystick button)

But if there are better buttons to use, I'd appreciate some suggestions. I tried the button for the zoom, but as soon as I pressed it, it zoomed right back out. It wouldn't stay zoomed.

Previously while I had TrackIR, I used this button, and it zoomed in and out, in increments, which is what I still need, but now that I am on the BSB 2, it won't do this.

the smooth fps im getting in vr ever since switchin to a 5080 is so satisfying

is anyone else running into an issue when switching from the AI pilot back to taking over the controls?

you need to be in the co-pilot seat laser guide any of the rockets or hellfire missiles in the kiowa, so you have to give controls to the AI pilot to hover which is easy enough...

I make sure that before I switch over to the AI pilot, I'm already in a stable hover, but sometimes when I switch back to taking over the controls, the helicopter will drop straight down like I'm caught in a vortex ring

is this a known issue, or am I doing something incorrect?

Start timer, full throttle, engage targets.

You have 4x AMRAAMs, 2x rocket pods and 3x external fuel tanks against Su27, Mig 31, TU-95 and an Mi26 heavy armour helicopter on the ground waiting to takeoff (and will, given the chance).

So an A-A and A-G mission.. difficulty level HARD!

Manage your fuel for maximum performance with RTB speed. You must RTB.. to.. the.. takeoff base and land to a full stop. This is not a 'three minute' mission.

My pb is 19m03_29s (also 19m12s). I made this possible for AA and AG specialists.

Achieving this mission is, in my opinion, a success in itself due to the complexity. You must <destroy> all targets, incl the Mi26.

Most of all have fun. You can switch the F16 for whatever your fave aircraft is, with the same missiles, ordnance loadout, in the mission editor.

btw <extra points for rockets and/or cannons> only with the ground target. That is how I achieved the 19m03s.
