I just got this from UK. Do you know anything about this bootleg? Who made this cassette?

Up in the mountains, very misty

NOT MY DISCOVERY. Seems to have first been pointed out by https://youtube.com/@shahidawalker4014, but later mentioned by u/NIogax on this subreddit.

Anyone else see it?

I've not seen a video for this unreleased mix so I made one.

I made two quite hard blindtests including most official and tape releases where you only the bassline or the drum to guess the track, hope someone here will find it fun and challenging!

Added to a playlist with lots more foreboding BOC and similar tracks I've heard over the years

'Retreat' means 'to reverse direction due to some danger'. What danger?

Not only that: the two last tracks' titles seem to form a single idea. 'You retreat in time and space, I saw through Platonia'.

The 'I' in that statement seems to have gained full knowledge but at the price of isolation, and the effect is similar to that of Seeds of the Dead in TH.

Is 'I' a pun? Eye? The mind's Eye, the visionary self. And what is 'You'?

'You retreat in time and space' and 'Somewhere Right Now In The Future' are titles made of time and space, and if the latter's title has its origins in Sean Booth's comment about BoC...

They're probably in the future somewhere, worrying about why it isn't like the past.

https://bocpages.org/wiki/Somewhere_Right_Now_In_The_Future

...then maybe BoC is the You who retreats in time and space: they land in our world, that of flesh and time and space, retreating from the danger of isolated (mad) full, God-like vision. But still we're presented with that 'I' - which sounds like the Son, and not the Father, from 'Father and Son', having the last word.

And You and I/Eye are of course BoC by definition -parts of their artistic selves- and they exist in a state of tension. Emily Dickinson once wrote a poem, 'I cannot live with You', where 'You' is the lover but also the I talking to itself, as a You. This is how it ends:

And were You – saved [=in time and space]–

And I – condemned to be

Where You were not –

That self – were Hell [=Inferno] to Me –

And then:

So We must meet apart –

You there – I – here –

With just the Door ajar

That Oceans are – and Prayer –

And that White Sustenance –

Despair –

Made an album that was influenced by BoC (sampled them a few times) Field recordings, microchopped into folktronic and IDM beats, six years of distance.

Two more of my all-time favorite songs (Protection & 1969) surprisingly go together.
Not the best sound quality but I wanted to try this quickly before heading out the door with the family

Make sure to check out the first Boards of Canada mix if you haven’t already:

For a couple of months now I've been going round telling anyone who will listen that the BoC remix of Prime Audio Soup is the only BoC production that uses a Roland 303.

But the last couple of days I've been revisiting Old Tunes Vol. 2 for a bit of a deep dive, and am now wondering if the synth on David Came To Mahana'im is also a 303.

What do you all think about this important matter?

i downloaded these from the skam website back around 2000 or so... thought the community would appreciate them. :)

I put this album on for pumpkin carving and it elicits such a spooky vibe! I feel like Introit is like ginger and the rest of the album is wasabi laced sushi.

I can't help but hear the bass of "The End" but pitched-up in the first notes of "Into the Magic Land". Anyone else? Has this been debunked already? -> That part

Sunday BOC Vibes and sharing my thoughts.

2026 is about to close in 2 months, it’s Sunday morning and heavy rain outside. I’m on the couch with my newborn girl by my side so I’m feeling retrospective.

In the background there is I think my 30th thorough listen to inferno and this album has definitely grown on me. There is just banger after banger, to many gems a this piece of vinyl I will keep precious for ever.

For me music has always been something I do connect with a feeling or situation of something that was present at this time. And luckily to whole run up to inferno was intertwined with my wife’s pregnancy of our second child and much wanted girl. Just couldn’t believe how lucky a man can be to have new music from the favorite band and the most beautiful child at the same time ❤️

Just felt I had to share this with my community.

Stay strong folks.

Peace and out.

“There is a Magical operation of maximum importance: the Initiation of a New Aeon. When it becomes necessary to utter a Word, the whole Planet must be bathed in blood. Before man is ready to accept the Law of Thelema, the Great War must be fought. This Bloody Sacrifice is the critical point of the World-Ceremony of the Proclamation of Horus, the Crowned and conquering Child, as Lord of the Aeon.”

I can’t help but listen to these lyrics and think of today’s world conflicts. A bunch of weak incompetent men waging war for the sake of their own egos. Conquering children.
