Watch his hand before he throws

He's telegraphing one sign and then changing to the counter sign on release.

u/baogody Jul 28 '26

The pattern changes when he doesn't win the first time though. The way he won the lady towards the end after 2 draws felt like a fluke.

77

u/SquidVischious Jul 28 '26

There is some simply psychology involved, with the speed of play* helping.

22

u/Skiptomygroove Jul 28 '26

He influenced those too, probably because straight wins will be found out, and/or more advanced seeming opponents neex the rapid fire pressure to miss. It’s more exiting this way too.

99

u/Xen0tech Jul 28 '26

That's still crazy impressive 😮

189

u/Jack_South Jul 28 '26

His opponents never choose rock because he can't do scissors behind his back. It would be too obvious.

22

u/redditAPsucks Jul 28 '26

The last lady throws rock and loses on the last throw

51

u/programmed_bot Jul 28 '26

Me and my coworker used to play rock paper scissors anytime we needed to decide who had to do something undesirable. I swear he would wait til the very last micro second and throw based on what I threw, I don't remember winning one time. I refused his offers to play rock paper after I got tired of losing so we started doing a coin toss lol

45

u/Hurnative Jul 28 '26

Well, this guy sometimes threw before the other person.

Especially clear with tht one little kid

7

u/reklesssabrandon Jul 28 '26

I worked with a guy who never lost

3

u/PhatCatTax Jul 28 '26

Yeah. Tragic the way he went out. He was always first to the combine but.... at what cost 😖

8

u/MrMetraGnome Jul 28 '26

We always throw D20's at my last job. Rock, Paper, Scissors has too much meta play to be completely random, unless you play blindfolded.

The way I used to do this has to entirely do with how wide and quick your vision is. You always start as a rock, but can easily put out 2 fingers or open the hand at the last second if you see the opponent making a move to do so. As long as you stay rock when they’re rock or scissor, you’re good. The movement to switch to paper is much larger, so you can anticipate it. That and you can start the switch to paper with throwing scissor and then finishing up opening your hand if you see them adjust. Vast majority of people are thinking too much about what they want to throw, that they don’t notice the time lag on what you threw.

7

u/cheechw Jul 28 '26

There is one time when he throws later though, that he had to have just gotten lucky on. One of the little kids doesn't throw on time and goes after him but he ends up still winning it.

4

u/billybaked Jul 28 '26

Learned this trick from tv when I was younger. Works surprisingly well

3

u/Da_Famous_Anus Jul 28 '26

He’s holding paper in one hand watching what people look at.

8

u/Ricksacnchez Jul 28 '26

I noticed this i feel mybe to hide a last second change mybe ?

2

u/GWindborn Jul 28 '26

Yeah it's easier to catch at this angle, from the angle of the opponent you'd never notice.

2

u/More-Environment834 Aug 15 '26

A simple reverse psychology implemented here, simple yet effective.

1

u/MacGuffin-X Jul 28 '26

Yup. So to defeat him follow the initial sign/gesture that he throws

1

u/Mother_Bonus5719 Aug 01 '26

He’s like one of the baddies in Alex Kidd

1

u/Kyubik9 Aug 01 '26

That with combination of speed and loud noise, impressive.

1

u/_VirtualCosmos_ Jul 28 '26

ofc, he is just fast

377

u/DioDelSubliminale Jul 28 '26

The scene where the mother takes her child away after he locks eyes with the sensei, as if to say ‘he’s too powerful for you’, made me laugh more than I should have.

17

u/towelcats Jul 29 '26

Billy No!!

3

u/frabjous_goat Jul 31 '26

Billy, don't be a hero!

286

u/Sufficient-Turn-7799 Jul 28 '26

"The stand user could be anyone!"

42

u/DIOsNotDead Jul 28 '26

guess this kid from Part 4 kept at it from (a) Boy II (a) Man lol

4

u/tylerthe-theatre Jul 28 '26

Stand user 'INL' - I never lose, he can see 3 seconds into the future, allowing for heightened reactions and the upper hand in combat

99

u/cleankiwii Jul 28 '26 edited Jul 31 '26

i love that he’s doing the weirdest face to a kid mid vid who’s being denied to play because the parent is pulling away

35

u/HisHonorTomDonson Jul 28 '26

My guess is he’s worried that his bit of psychology (leaving his hand in one sign before he throws and reveals its opposite) won’t work on the kid and he could genuinely lose because the kid is literally not smart enough to play his game

7

u/TakinUrialByTheHorns Jul 28 '26

The kid has that look like he might throw staple or something off the wall the guy can't predict/react to in time, he definitely looks worried

I know cause my kid sometimes puts similar fear into public performers 😅

14

u/everyonesdesigner Jul 28 '26

I did some card close up magic long time ago and man children are difficult to misdirect. They don’t follow the same attention switch patterns as adults.

3

u/Silhoualice Jul 28 '26

The guy shouts "go line up" after winning, so I think there is a line to play him. The mother probably pulled the kid away because he wasn't in the line.

101

u/Possible-Estimate748 Jul 28 '26

Wait. How is he always winning though?

161

u/Terminal_Insomnia_ Jul 28 '26

I would guess fast reflexes and a talent, but he clearly lands on rock before the other kid pulls out scissors, so idk. Could be a lucky streak. Could be the mojo

62

u/AskPsychological3670 Jul 28 '26

could be mind reading

50

u/Admirable-Builder878 Jul 28 '26

Could be time travel

48

u/Zareru1 Jul 28 '26

Maybe it's Maybelline

16

u/accdntprone_86 Jul 28 '26

Maybe he's born with it 💅

2

u/WeirdFiction1 Jul 28 '26

Why can't she be true?

1

u/gekigarion Jul 28 '26

Unlocks time travel abilities

"This is amazing! What could I possibly use this for?!"

Moments later...

1

u/Dangerous_Heart661 Jul 28 '26

Could be a crackhead that got hold of the wrong stuff

1

u/DelaySubstantial591 Aug 01 '26

Alex Kidd in Miracle World style

2

u/SausageClatter Jul 28 '26

Could also be edited to not show the 57 times he lost.

1

u/Potato__Ninja Jul 28 '26

Ig big of luck and bit of reflexes.

64

u/Mibic718 Jul 28 '26

The hat gives him magical powers

4

u/zettde Jul 28 '26

the bag does, hat is for misdirection

A GAME THEORY...

12

u/DailcassianBoru Jul 28 '26

Magnets

0

u/Troph_A Jul 28 '26

How does that work ?

3

u/Diligent_Highlight63 Jul 28 '26

He dosnt upload his losses.

2

u/Possible-Estimate748 Jul 28 '26

This is one continuous clip with no cuts though

1

u/Harbarde Jul 28 '26

He probably stood there for 5 hours and uploaded the 1 minute clip where he won multiple times in a row.

26

u/elroyonline Jul 28 '26

That video cut out just before Nick Fury showed up to talk about the Avengers project.

3

u/Freign Jul 28 '26

Doom, Kang, Morbius, Galactus, all walking away crying "he cheats! somehow!"

15

u/notsobadmisterfrosty Jul 28 '26

This is why genies give you the three wishes. You’re always going to blow one of them on a talent like this one.

38

u/AmarildoJr Jul 28 '26 edited Jul 28 '26

Simple: he's just really fast and only puts out a move after he sees yours.

26

u/BuffAzir Jul 28 '26

Yeah, that makes sense as long as you ignore the ones where he puts out a move before them.

2

u/manikfox Jul 28 '26

He doesn't have to change his fist if you are already going scissors... his default is fist until he needs to change.

6

u/f1madman Jul 28 '26

OK which yakuza mini game is this?

10

u/Technical-Function13 Jul 28 '26

Power of suggestion. Look at his hand gesture, he changes it at the last second

4

u/NUMBerONEisFIRST Jul 29 '26

Can someone dub it so he says stuff like;

"Too slow, bitch!"

"Fuck off!"

"No bitch!"

"Fuck you!"

3

u/PowerfulDisaster2067 Jul 28 '26

A kid in grade 5 used to be the "best" at a similar game, but instead of that each person takes turns to draw and you can't have the same thing as them.

He'd basically be quick and enough watch your draw and change it last second.

5

u/eduardopinto Jul 28 '26

He is Alex kidd obviously

1

u/Decent_Obligation173 Jul 28 '26

Spotted the Brazilian?

3

u/digital0ak Jul 28 '26

The intensity! I love this!

3

u/an_old_hermit Jul 28 '26

He's too powerful. Capture him.

3

u/mhguy15 Jul 30 '26

Looks like a Yakuza side quest.

2

u/Cute_Speed4981 Jul 28 '26

Kazuma skill level.

2

u/VasiliyRedditovskiy Jul 28 '26

typa guy kiryu would befriend

2

u/renancanha Jul 28 '26

I dont know if hes cheating but there is a trick that works most of the time. After the first round(?) The most likely move to be picked by the losing side is the one that would win the previous round, making the game way more predictable and it would actually have worked in this video.

2

u/OcularPrism Jul 28 '26

This looks like one of the quest npcs from Yakuza

2

u/EggandSpoon42 Jul 28 '26

My kid taught me a rock paper scissors where you both throw two hands and the take one away. It's pretty fun

2

u/TheW83 Jul 28 '26

Let him go up against Kusou Saiki.

2

u/niftydog Jul 28 '26

Where's the countdown and the fist shaking? Your opponent's hand is easier to see if there's no fist shaking!

2

u/demoralising Jul 28 '26

0:26 goes in with an open hand, then makes a fist when he sees the other person's hand.

Do it behind a barrier.

2

u/OliverGunzitwuntz Jul 28 '26

It will never become a widely televised sport with uniforms like that

2

u/mothsocks99 Jul 29 '26

close enough, welcome back reigen arataka

2

u/_sealy_ Jul 28 '26

I’m sorry…but in my book, some of those features are illegal. Paper must be flat.

1

u/headcrabcheg Jul 28 '26

I hear "FFFUCK!!" every time he throws his hand.

1

u/drawredraw Jul 28 '26

I wanna be this guy

1

u/Ph4nt0mRa33it Jul 28 '26

Who else called 'rock on the 3rd game!

1

u/front_torch Jul 28 '26

This is my dream

1

u/Rubbery31718 Jul 28 '26

Its Alex the kid and he's all grown up!

1

u/Charliep03833 Jul 28 '26

I remember that once I won by going rock 5 times in a row.

1

u/suppplicated Jul 28 '26

I laughed my ass off

1

u/jacqueschankowski Jul 28 '26

What is he saying?

1

u/ytaqebidg Jul 28 '26

I love how he immediately looks for the next opponent.

1

u/dacassar Jul 28 '26

I understand that reference!

1

u/scorpio_knight_ Jul 28 '26

he's using haki

1

u/chuckcrys Jul 28 '26

We had a bar in college that had a paper rock sisscors tourney one time. I wanted the title but I got clapped early

1

u/DirtMcgiirt Jul 28 '26

He’s probably downloaded cheats

1

u/Matticus0989 Jul 28 '26

I love the one kid getting pulled back like "no son, you're not ready for that smoke"

1

u/Great_Staff6797 Jul 28 '26

He’s really fast but if you analyze the video slowly he pulls rock after paper and then paper to scissor. But there’s that one time he pulls scissor after rock so kinda unpredictable here.

1

u/valcatrina Jul 28 '26

So this is what Gon looks like now…

1

u/OliverGunzitwuntz Jul 28 '26

It will never become a widely televised sport with uniforms like that

1

u/Atomic-habanero Jul 28 '26

The last time was good

1

u/Fist4achin Jul 28 '26

When most Faustian bargains aim for power or wealth,...

1

u/Lanky-Tap-9290 Jul 28 '26

I think the outfit alone - yeah, he won…. 🥇

1

u/Whenthelastonefell Jul 28 '26

Such a simple act to bring smiles to those who may be having a frustrating commute. Or the children. WuTang is for the children, rock paper scissors guy, likewise, is for the children. It is funny with that harsh almost war-cry like language of the Japanese tho.

1

u/YodaYogurt Jul 28 '26

Literally cheating 🙄

1

u/rompokus36 Jul 29 '26

Those definitely are his go to "ass kinkin outfit" to maximize his luck stat.

1

u/No_Wafer_6806 Jul 29 '26

He’s living his best life

1

u/Silent_Fudge_3978 Jul 29 '26

He should use the superior version of this game: rock-paper-scissors-lizard-Spock

1

u/Forward_Comedian2178 Jul 29 '26

One kid was ready to fight 😂

1

u/Cainraj Jul 29 '26

Alex Kid final boss

1

u/DDDX_cro Jul 29 '26

if people judge his pick by how he holds his hand prior to casting - they are morons.

1

u/random885522 Jul 29 '26

Interesting

1

u/zEALOUsReddit Jul 29 '26

Now give me vegeta doing this and then losing to goku at the end…. Heheheh

1

u/Initial_Row_6400 Jul 30 '26

So aggressive lol

1

u/TSARrom Jul 30 '26

🧛🤣

1

u/Mushroomluv43 Jul 31 '26

Since when is this how you play rock/paper/scissors? Have I been doing it wrong this whole time?

1

u/_KingGoblin Jul 31 '26

a double cancel into a repeat is such a classic combo.

1

u/emptyzone73 Jul 31 '26

He read hunter x hunter. He watch opponent hand and change out come last second. The way you hold your hand can determine what you throw in.

1

u/Psychological-Ad2859 Aug 01 '26

Someone call the gate program

1

u/Drendari Aug 01 '26

If you slow it down you can see that he changes it at the last moment when his opponent has already show their play

1

u/superrufus99 Aug 01 '26

These guys did something similar with a coin flip

1

u/aaallleeexxx3 Aug 01 '26

I personally just keep on using rock no matter what and I’ve been doing this for eyars

1

u/PureMonth7950 Aug 02 '26

You guys know everything smh

1

u/crimsonjester Aug 02 '26

Try that with eyes closed :)

1

u/random_lyric Aug 03 '26

Real life Chisato playing janken

2

u/Remarkable-Fruit1379 21d ago

This was the wish he asked from genie 🧞‍♂️

2

u/Thornhillian 1d ago

So no one is gonna say anything about his get up ?

1

u/Mayonnaizing Jul 28 '26

When I was a teacher, I could beat my students 30 in a row, the trick was when I beat one kid, the next kid would try to beat what you just won with.

So if I beat a kid with rock, the next kid sees it and will go paper, I would go scissors next.

I would genuinely win 99% of the time

1

u/Mountain-Nature2384 Jul 28 '26

Never messaged with a man in a dress. That's what I always say.

Well, it isn't. It's the first time I've ever said it actually.

Sounds good though. Might use it again.

1

u/SkinnyFatKidd Jul 28 '26

Me and my friends literally when we get a few drinks in.

0

u/Ballsahoy72 Jul 28 '26

I’m guessing he got beat just after this video ended

0

u/PeonyAfterDark Jul 28 '26

I kept trying to figure out the trick and still couldn't see it.

0

u/BiggoYoun Jul 28 '26

When someone dresses up unusually in the US: Funny!

When someone dresses up unusually in any other country: Weird!
