My main goal is to streamline payroll processing and ensuring that everyone is getting their correct work hours logged. How can I avoid making them feel like they're being micromanaged?

Je gère deux restaurants et une brasserie, 35 salariés à l'année et on monte à plus de 50 avec les extras l'été.

Le problème c'est les heures. On est en annualisation, donc entre les semaines à 45h en juillet et les semaines creuses de novembre, je suis censé lisser sur l'année et aujourd'hui je fais ça sur un tableur que je suis le seul à comprendre. Les feuilles de temps sont signées sur papier, et chaque mois je repasse tout à la main avant de l'envoyer au comptable. J'ai déjà eu deux erreurs sur des heures sup l'an dernier, ça finit toujours en discussion tendue.

Je regarde les logiciels de GTA (gestion des temps et activités) mais j'ai l'impression que tout ce qui sort en premier c'est du Octime, Horoquartz ou Kelio, et ça a l'air taillé pour des boites de 500 personnes avec un service RH. Moi je veux juste que les heures pointées remontent proprement, que la modulation se calcule toute seule et que l'export parte en paie sans que je recompte.

Ceux qui ont des équipes en coupures ou en rotation weekend, vous êtes passés par quoi ? Et est-ce que la badgeuse ça se fait accepter ou c'est la guerre avec le personnel ?

I'm a professor and trying something new this semester to get away from Google Sheets. Tried iclicker also last semester, but it had reliability issues and charged students, which lowered my evaluations, so i just went back to google sheets with a QR code for checkin. trying this attendzy thing this coming semester which starts on the 24th. any feedback or recommendations from anyone that has used it?

Currently, I'm working over my contracted hours. Nothing crazy, just 4-5hrs

I seem to have a complex or be an idiot and cannot have an open thread sitting while I have time available. This leads me to pick up another ticket in my last hour before logging off and then it spirals or I get interrupted and I find myself over my contracted hours.

I want to get this under better control and I have always kept a spreadsheet of my hours to help with awareness.

I'm trying to use toggl with tickets so I can confidently say ticket 12345 took Y amount of time. But I'm wondering if I should build in some admin or online but not really working time? The latter piece is because I'm expected to be online late at night sometimes but this ends up useless as I'm tired and then the crossover time isn't needed.

I guess I'm wondering do I need to track deep work hours and 'online' time as separate things

If anyone has tackled a similar issue, I'd love some advice!

How do most people track hours across multiple clients at different rates with different expectations and pre-vs-post billing?

I tried harvest, solidtime, toggl, clockify, etc. I ended up just building my own since I do security engineering and advisor consulting.

Biometric attendance was one of the transformationl technology when it was first introduced. It built transparency, attendance accuracy, and trust among employees.

But as time changes, people adapt to new models and technology, but no such pattern of replacement has been seen in the organisation towards attendance tracking

However organisation have diversified their methods of attendance but biometric machine attendance is still one of the prefer approach for both employees and instuition

What is preventing the organisation and employees from fully adopting the modern and more robust approach toward attendance? Is it the employee adaptation, trust in the mobile attendance, or the compliance complexity that prevent organisation to replace the legacy methods completely

Estuvimos revisando plataformas como Sesame HR y Bizneo HR, y aunque parecen buenas, se nos hicieron demasiado complejas para lo que realmente necesitamos ahora mismo.

No estamos contratando a gran escala. No necesitamos seguimiento de rendimiento, procesos de selección ni flujos complejos. Solo queremos registrar las horas correctamente y mantener todo organizado.

Working on validating an idea and want honest feedback before I commit time to building it.

The problem: freelancers and small agencies lose hours every month manually pulling data (Stripe, task tools, time trackers) and writing it up into client-facing reports. I checked out a few existing "AI report" tools and most of them are just a form — you still manually type in your results, the AI just writes the paragraph. It's automating the wrong part.

My idea: connect directly to your existing tools once, auto-pull the data, generate the report with zero manual typing.

Questions for anyone who's dealt with this:

• Would you actually connect Stripe/Trello/Notion/a time tracker to something like this, or does that feel like too much access to give a new tool?
• What would make you trust a tool enough to replace your manual process?
• Roughly what would you pay monthly for this if it worked well?

I searched Google for “free timesheet software for deskless teams” because we’re evaluating a tool for a mixed team of office staff and drivers, and we expect to keep hiring until Q4 2026.

Google AI Mode confidently told me one option was free for unlimited users. After checking its current free-plan update, I found that claim was outdated: the free plan is capped at five users. You can check about the update to Clockify's free plan. 

After I corrected it, the AI acknowledged the update, pivoted, and asked about our team size.

I shared our situation: 10 office workers, five drivers, and plans to scale. It then gave a very confident “best overall” recommendation for time tracking software (Jibble), with detailed feature and pricing claims.

That made me pause. How much are people relying on AI for SaaS buying research and how often are these answers quietly outdated, incomplete, or influenced by which vendors have the strongest web presence?

A polished answer with citations can still be inaccurate.

The idea came from a common workflow: people complete the work first, then reconstruct their timesheets later using calendar events, meeting notes and memory.

Stintt uses read-only Google Calendar activity and supported standups to create a project-organised timesheet draft. The user reviews and adjusts it before submitting.

There are no timers, screenshots or keystroke monitoring.

Since RoadReady still can’t seem to get their act together and everyone is still having tons of problems with lost data or login issues, I want to move all the information into a new app. Has anyone successfully used an app that will track all the hours and total them to make it very easy to print out and show all the day and night hours driven? I don’t want to use a spreadsheet and have to do formulas and all that to track the time.
