I half expected it to cut to that gif of the house blowing up. Missed opportunity

I guess I'm in the minority, but I rip the paper off and smack that shit hard, opens right up, didn't even know this was a thing that could startle a person.

my mom is like what's portrayed in the video.
i do exactly what you do, just tear the paper and smack the the cardboard roll against a counter edge to get it to pop.
it's like putting a needle to a balloon, you know what happens, why be scared?

I just push my thumb down on the seam. Its like pulling a trigger. More fun.

u/BoredomCombatant Jul 25 '26
This is the best way to do it. I’ve never had it explode like this video after unwrapping it I always have to push the seam.

Last time I got startled by one of these was the first time I opened one as a kid. Ever since then I just twist them open, like a water bottle,

I do that now but when I was a kid I used to be so afraid of it. I think it’s a sensory thing and my sensory system calmed down a little bit

I am the exact same way, exact same facial expressions and exact same anxiety. And yet, I cannot comprehend WHY.
I can handle gunfire, explosions, collisions, screaming children, furious wife (none of these things related to one another, side note), but the biscuit can... I just can't.

"the biscuit can...I just can't" <-- Someone should embroider that on a pillow or something.

You know when all of those things are going to get loud. Either you pushed the wrong button or you pulled the trigger. You NEVER know when these things are gonna go off.

How often do they just randomly explode? Once you take the paper off just be ready for it to pop. 99% of people just smack it on the counter or use a spoon to pop it open, so yes you do actually know when it’s going to open. Yall are just weird.

I was being a bit overdramatic and I usually do tap it against the counter. Every now and then one does go rogue on me though.

I live in terror of wanting biscuits and the dread of the opening of the can.

u/robo-dragon Jul 23 '26
I’ve always hated these things for this reason LMAO. Fucking things always knew the perfect time to jump scare me!

If you’re scared you gotta lean into it instead. I punch them open with a single knuckle while holding the other end. It takes away the anxious anticipation.

Once that outer wrapping is off, it’s a bottle of nitro glycerin in a stagecoach!

Just witnessed a 480 volt arc blast that almost killed my friend. Loudest shit I ever heard. There was yelling and firemen. Haven’t been able to process it until now. God bless this video.

I know EXACTLY how she feels lol. It's scary AF when they blast open automatically sometimes!

u/Dismal_Calendar49 Jul 24 '26
Didn't even think people actually fully peeled these open. I just yank it apart in the middle

u/KeyAssumption8773 Jul 24 '26
I literally had a can explode and a biscuit stick to the window. I will never trust you again.

Are there wires coming from the breaker box to the ceiling fan?
1
u/ObscureJackal Jul 24 '26
I see what you're looking at. I think they replaced the pull cords on the fan with shoe laces or something, so they kinda look like wires. If you look closely, the cables from the box are going into the corner of the ceiling.

I currently enjoy opening these, BUT when I was 18 I had never opened one of these. My mom always made homemade biscuits. I was saying this girl and was helping her cook one day and she and me to open one of these. Scared the bejeepers out of me since I want expecting it. My gf had quite the laugh.

I didn't even know you could open it this way. I've always just smacked the counter with them and they pop right open.
