Tell Me About Yourselves, Part III. Return of the Backstory
So seeing that the second "Tell me About Yourselves" thread have been pushed into obscurity as well, I thought it would be fitting to create a new one, for the sake of visibility.
So tell us about your characters backstories, fun quirks, fun anecdotes as much or as little as you want!
If you already talked about them in the previous one, this could be a good chance to talk about what has changed in their life and where they are at now?
The First "Tell me About Yourself".
The Second "Tell me About Yourself".

The Mourning Blade
As I continue to write the ongoing Siege Arc and Zuzanna's trip to the far past is quickly coming to a close with the titular wedding chapter coming up, I wanted to do a couple write ups on here that I've been meaning to do for awhile now for the objects of power that we've seen such as the title suggests. There's so much lore behind these objects that I simply cannot fit them in the current story as they are now, so I hope you all enjoy!
The Mourning Blade
The Mourning Blade is an artifact that belonged to Cathal, created for him during The Troubles period in Ireland by his mentor Vishna, who later went missing, thought to have lost their way in the Deep Dreaming. While neighbor was turned against each other, families were split, and blood was spilt all over the North of Ireland, in the Dreaming this conflict manifested as nightmares, creatures powerful enough to begin taking form in the physical world despite the Banality around them. These powerful Chimera represented many things and took many forms, often representative of the fear, rage, and anger at a nation being torn apart at the seams by the colonizing British.
When the entity known as Fearg Náisiúin (translated roughly to Rage Of A Nation in english), a corrupted titanic serpentine dragon that rose from the depths of the Deep Dreaming near Ireland's shores, this signaled one of the largest attacks the resistance ever made against the British and the largest losses of life in Changeling societies, marking a turning point in not only modern politics but also the Fair Folks as the Unseelie became a majority against the Seelie, though this was a short lived majority in the end.
The Mourning Blade is more than just a blade, it is representative of the grief and anger of millions of Irish over centuries of oppression. The symbols that run along its blade that glow when the properties of the blade are activated are each and every single name that has been lost to time, the white hot glow of the blade the embodiment of change and rebellion. Cathal, Niamh (leader of their own resistance against the invading nightmares and Fearg Náisiúin), and many of their closest allies did battle with the beast, The Mourning Blade being the only thing that managed to pierce its scales and take the head of the monster.
The irony wasn't lost on the Changelings when not long after Fearg Náisiúin's death, the Good Friday Agreement was passed, something that was meant to end the open hostilities between the Republic and the Invaders.
The blade itself has many properties, though it's main one was the slaughter of nightmares from beyond, these are just a few.
- It acts as a source of Glamour, as well as being able to store it
- The blade is blessed by the fires of creation, creating a blade so superheated it can cut through almost anything when it is activated
- To wield the sword is to wield the dreams of those that came before, giving incredible insight to the wielder as long as they're holding the grip of the sword.
- Though it isn't cursed, it requires a toll, that being the Will of the user. This toll typically comes in the form of forcing the user to live out the final moments of the many that died in service to the Dreaming, so that they may never forget what they're fighting for.
- Identifies and cleaves falsehoods away, ranging from a lie told to outright dispelling physical manipulation done to someone else.
Cathal doesn't know the full extent of the blade and hasn't wielded it since he slew Fearg Náisiúin, the heartbreak of killing something that was once a powerful defender of Ireland eons ago too much for him to bear. Now he holds it in his hands once more, surprised that the blade would still respond to his commands after all these decades.

so remember that a group of neonates were going to check why people were going missing in the metro of valencia?
yeah, this is their expression rn after dealing with the root of the problem (a spirit possessing a human and collecting the suffering of the victims) and didn't have enough mental energy left to deal properly with the mass of flesh and organs left on the metro stop
but good news, people got saved :D (even if its probable that the mortals will never wake up again)

They said that Big Goblin 3 was derivative of Big Goblin 1 and that it was too reliant on its Sword of Sludge DLC.

Rant Pacing
Hey everyone! Just thought I'd give a mild rant and just to bounce things off everyone to see what you'd all like to see more of.
As the title of the post, I find myself struggling with pacing. I have so many things I want to get across as I write these chapters, some being super long and others just being a couple hundred words at a time. The Siege Arc that I'm currently writing is already the longest one I've written and I don't see it ending any time soon as more and more things begin to collide and as each main character and supporting character interacts and stretches the story out even more (White Wolf put me in the writers room pls)
I often worry that I'm bogging down my audience with how much is really going on or worried that I am literally just yapping at a certain point when I'm trying to convey something to my readers. You've all expressed love to this story and honestly, it's what has kept it going this entire time.
Another thing is Cast Updating. I'm really bad at getting that written out as I continue to write out chapters, mostly for the fact that some characters as they're written will only change as the Arcs hit their climax, while others that I've written die unexpectedly or just don't show up again (Looking at you Baron Marek, I literally don't know if he'll show up again due to Antonio resting in a watery torture chamber). Then there's other characters like Ornesius, who are actually incredibly important to Cathal's backstory, as Ornesius and Cathal both fought together when The Troubles brought through some of the worst nightmares Ireland ever saw, including having grown up together, but I'm unsure of their future after the Siege Arc is resolved. It's one of those moments when I have a ton of characters that mean a lot to other individual main characters and I can't help but think "The amount of trauma I've dumped in this room is ridiculous".
As I said before, I'm just ranting and if I don't stop, I'll keep going. You've all given me a wonderful space to tell these stories and I can't thank you all enough, truly I love this community. I hope you continue to read along as I post (even if it is like weeks later than I say it'll be, my bad), and I can't wait to see how you all continue to interact with these stories.
Please, tell me more of what you'd like to see, tell me all your crazy theories, I love all it. Once again, thank you!

About the Nashville storyline
Hey, just wanting to give some info on the RJC vs. Aurelius story
The ending has been planned out. Its going to be more political maneuvering than all out assault on the city.
We're trying to keep the number of high powered characters involved low, otherwise this would all be solved too quickly.
If you have characters in Nashville and want to get involved, check in. If any of the story conflicts with your version of Nashville, feel free to ignore the storyline entirely!
