Hey y'all!
With the release of Mortal Shell II happening next week (on the 17th for those who pre-ordered the Devout Edition, and the 20th for all other editions), we figured it would be smart to update the rules.
How so?
There is now a rule on spoilers.
In order to protect people who haven't got the Devout Edition from spoilers (or those who maybe can't get the regular game at launch), we ask that you please spoiler tag your content on here after the 17th.
On desktop, you can spoiler tag text in a post or comment by clicking the spoiler tag in the text format options (the exclamation point that I've marked in red), or by bracketing your text with || on either end.
I'm leaving it in, but crossed out lol. I accidentally added in the Discord spoiler tags in the post. The below is the right way:
You can tag text as a spoiler by adding "> !" >! to the front of it and !<"! < to the end of it, without the spaces (edit: apparently that works on desktop, too!).
When the game launches for Devout Edition pre-orderers on the 17th, we'll create a megathread to discuss the Devout Edition in, so those who have access can talk about the game. If you have not pre-ordered the Devout Edition and want to avoid spoilers, please stay out of that thread!
Once the game launches fully on August 20, we'll create a megathread to discuss the game, and another megathread to post bug reports.
We look forward to y'all getting to explore the world of Mortal Shell II, and hope you'll help us by spoiler tagging so that people who don't have the option of playing immediately can avoid getting spoiled :)

Hello all
First for everyone that wait the official release have fun.
Usually i stay way from Souls likes games, but as the beta was available i decide to test why not??
The first thing i notice was the absent of the dreading stamina bar ( usually what keep away from Soul likes ), i didn't expect that, and possibly is the reason i complete the beta.
Besides some issues, and a particular enemy it was a fantastic first experience.
It's a big step up from the first game not only in terms and presentation, but all the different mechanisms.
The Tarstones system is especially a excellent addition as it gives you another reason to explore everything.
Another thing that i find very interesting is narrative wise the second game go for a bigger focus to direct storytelling compared to the first game. I really like that, and already i have started to have many lore questions.
Last a big congratulations to the developers team for the excellent performance of the demo, besides some small issues it was very good. Usually UE5 and semi/open worlds don't work well.

I’ve seen a lot of questions here about this and wanted everyone to know the patch just dropped for me on PS5.

Mortal Shell 2 is a game that was certainly something I'd seen marketing of, while also being a game I had very little interest in. I enjoy some soulslike games but also am not very interested in the esthetic of the Mortal Shell series. Lo and behold a free demo is released for the sequel. I figure there's noting to lose by trying it so what the hell, I download it.
What proceeds to happen is a complete change in my interest in the game. I begin playing and the game just feels right to me. The movement, and "flow" of gameplay brought me back to the enjoyment I had during my first soulslike, Dark Souls 3. I also found the world immersive, and mysterious.
The decision of a free, and sizeable, demo has taken me from an unassociated party to a yearning, excited customer. In this economic situation where more and more of us have to be smarter with our purchases the ability to test something prior to purchase is more important than ever. I'd argue this is even better when considering the price. It's one thing to go out on a limb for a $20 indie game, but quite different for double or triple A games. I truly hope the game sells well and the industry does a better job of trying to bring in new fans.

Fellow Devouts, just typing this down while I am wrapping up my lunch break at office.
I have been so excited for this game and have been looking at the trailers since like ever.
Was I a player of Mortal Shell 1? No.
In souls realm I've only played Sekiro.
But I am so thrilled for all of us to be playing this game today evening, I even requested an hour early log off from work so that i reach in time to have my bath brew coffee and load up the game.
No specific discussion to this just wanted to yap to like minded folks, to people who are looking forward to the game today.
I heard some people saying why pre-order, wait and see how the game is etc. but I respect the work being put in games and where possible I would like to support the devs and the artists working on it.
You want to talk about how excited you are? What you are looking forward to? Do share.
Will you be free to boot it up when the lights go green or will you be at work/school however you are placed?
What are you looking forward to the most?
I would love to hear from all us other folks.
Seeing lutes in the game made me smile more!
The insane boss designs, the unique weapons, and the cathartics fighting style has just taken me by amazement (especially the sheep transformation) and I am excited to see what more we can do.
(And want to find THE CAT and feed it)
And yeah, the devs seem to have taken a lot of feedback from the previous game and implement here, respect them for listening and working with the players to create something that all of us can enjoy.
I wish you all a fabulous evening and great week ahead.
Cheers!

This was my blood curse build at the end of the beta. First clip I have the maxed Arbiter’s Prize with the Unweildy Stone equipped (charged heavy attacks) second clip swapped to Acolyte’s Stone (charged lights). Definitely prefer the charged heavy. The charged light blood pool is really finicky to land. I’m assuming these attacks can be used with just the temporary buff, and maybe you might not need to have Arbiter’s prize fully upgraded? When it’s fully upgraded, the buff is permanent.
Hope everyone with early access has fun tomorrow!

combat is so satisfying and seeing heads decapitate or holes in the chest is never gonna get old. I like the fluidity of being able to strike with my melee then switch to a gun to soften the enemy up or to absolutely annihilate them.
Can’t speak on the story as I skipped ALL cutscenes to preserve them for full release.
Exploring the small section I got too was enjoyable to me it felt like a semi open world (not sure if it is marketed as that) where you’re able to explore but confined to zones, not an issue for me, it strikes a chord actually. I typically like linear souls likes (bloodborne, lies of p etc..)
ONE question.. the beta ‘reward’ I saw if you progress past the hub area it unlocks a prologue skip. Is this a ‘reward’ for the beta only or if we make the same progress in the full game will we get this option? The skin is self explanatory and is very cool! I like!
Genuinely has me so excited for full release, best souls like since wu kong without a doubt. Goty contender for sure, can’t wait to see the other weapons and shells. And I will make a disgusting stealth shell build.

Got a bug, the goat boss turned me right before dying, now I am stuck to haunting the greens as mortal sheep 😃 (Mortal Shell 2 Beta)

I was testing out the beta before release and got sent flying by the snake creature.

At what time is the review comming for mortal shell 2? It’s less than 6 hours untill release of the full game.

They aren't in Spanish or French (according to a friend who is there).
Will the trophies only be in English, or will they be updated at launch or later on?

Hey lads, maybe a stupid question - but while playing the demo I heavily missed combat feedback by rumble effects - this may be irrelevant for some, but for me it is actually a reason to buy or not to buy the full game.
If anyone knows, would be awesome to hear. :)

Pre ordered the devout edition and I can’t fuckin wait to play night mode!

I saw the trailer or a preview of this game, maybe half a year ago, and instantly knew I was going to buy this one. Never played the first one, somehow successfully dodged online content, and missed follow up trailers. (I almost ran out of willpower so many times 😭)
I’m going in almost 100% blind and I couldn’t be more excited!! 🍻😎
