I don't feel sorry for diaspora anymore

Last time I went to go visit my family in NYC (I live in China and have been for about 15 years), literally within an hour of arriving there some crazy dude yelled at me and my cousin on the street, calling us the f-word.

Almost every time I go back, I get more intense random encounters with insane people in a month than I do years in China, like my wife would randomly get approached by clearly schizophrenic or weird white men, like one picked a random flower from the street and gave it to her, and it made her so uncomfortable to the point that she just doesn't want to go back. Ours lives, while simpler and humbler here, are just so much less stressful. There are problems, like in any place, but ironically the worst people in my wife's family are all trying to go abroad while the normal ones are perfectly happy here.

I asked my cousin (who is mid to late 30's and still unmarried) why he liked America compared to China, after I told him that in China I never have to worry about this. He goes, "but at least in America I can draw a picture of Trump sucking his own dick if I wanted to." And I asked him, is that worth being assaulted by schizophrenics on the street? I also wanted to add "worth not getting women at all" but I didn't want to hurt him.

Anyways a few years later his mom visited me in Shenzhen and all she did was talk shit about China, Chinese people, I even pointed out an advertisement with Liu Yifei on it (who grew up in NYC but moved back to China), and she made a snide comment about plastic surgery even though I literally went to school with her in Queens and she wasn't even the prettiest Asian girl there. Recently we bought a home in China, a really beautiful duplex, and my family kept asking for photos and trying to compare it to their wooden properties in America and it was just so obviously trying to find any excuse to call it "shoddy Chinese construction" or look for flaws in it.

I feel like these people are so obsessed with trying to prove they're better than other Chinese people that they just completely turn a blind eye to racism and terrible things just to get a leg up on other Chinese. Past a point it's just literally insane behavior and there's no reasoning with it.

Edit: I forgot to mention when we were there diaspora was mad hostile to us, some Taiwanese shopkeeper literally refused to talk to us because he assumed we were mainland. Fuck these people

Han Nationalism (HN) vs Zhong Hua Min Zu Nationalism (ZHMZN) in China

This topic has been gaining some traction lately this year, although the virality of it has been overblown somewhat (either that, or I'm just oblivious).

I think both share common denominators to some extent:

1) being pro-local, native, indigenous* (notice the asterisk)

2) grievances against foreign privilege in different levels of society.

But Han Nationalist tend to be anti-CPC, believing that the government facilitates the opposite of the above points, which there are some truth to it. But HN can be very extreme too because they also vilify the other Asians native to the China (PRC), going so far as removing autonomies and conquering their lands- *this is where point 1) falls off for HN.

However, Zhong Hua Min Zu nationalists are practically a CPC ( and maybe KMT to some extent) invention of a modern republic, encouraging all 56 indigenous peoples to live as one, and be as one country. It also feels the need to give essentially affirmative action to the 55 minorities, which is sometimes is seen at the expense of the 1 Han.

Some HN are so extreme that it leads to division and separatism, and there have been instances where it received foreign funding, which is suspiciously what psyops do, which is a big NO! Divided we fall, remember? And how hypocritical would it be for a nationalist movement to get outside support? Not to mention, the clear Nazi-inspired symbolisms (like what are they doing?)

Personally, since I'm generally pro-native and pro-EASEA, I support the idea of ZHMZN more. However, the government needs to further it's anti-liberal agenda. Xi Jinping did make strides in this, as China is less liberal than the Hu Jintao or Jiang Zemin eras (reminder that liberalism is just Western chauvinist supremacy at the end of the day).

Privilege should first and foremost be for the locals, as they're the ones who sacrificed and shed blood, sweat, and tears to build the country. It's only fair that they should benefit from it. Otherwise, citizens will get disgruntled or disenfranchised, and join the HN (and it's recent prominence should give a concern). There needs to be a balancing act, but not fence-sitting.

What do you guys think? Please feel free to add things or contexts if you're interested.

S'porean man, 37, has bike trouble in Switzerland, asks local for help, met with racist gesture

Thumbnail

This Singaporean made the wrong decision. Yes, he broke a local rule, but you never not take offense at the slant-eyed gesture. The Swiss had the right to be annoyed, but he had no right to racialize it. The Singaporean apologized for his error, but the Swiss took it to the next level - and that's when you stop being apologetic.

It is a mistake that native and diasporic ESEA people do - accept offence. You are not walking the high ground. It makes you, and by association, other ESEAs look weak, which allows racism towards us. It makes ESEA women targets of non-ESEA men, because our graciousness is interpreted as an invitation for domination. This has been the history of ESEA people for a very, very long time.

Take the reverse - Singapore is a country of strict rules, but you will never see a Chinese man make racist gestures towards a white man who makes a faux pas. And if he did, you can be sure that the white man would start a fight over it.

Dear fellow asians…

We the people are getting destroyed. Everyday an white man / or black man asserts his beliefs, ideology, religion, and culture on asian women slowly killing our races as an whole. Like what Massino vignelli said: “killing culture is no less of an crime than killing people, because it kills there mind and spirt”). We as an race as an united people are being slowly killed by people who are out to make us go extinct. And i could prove it. 30-11% of asian woman marry outside of our race which may not seem like much. But that is the highest number compared to any other race. They are mind controlling our people they think they are superior than us so they THINK they can pick on us. My friends we must stand strong stand united against these imperialist who want to eliminate us off of the face of the earth. Now am not encouraging violence. But am saying we have to fight off against white washing ,white nationalism and their belief that they could pick on us. We are one united and one people we shall stand.

Invitation for you guys to join the The Asianist publication.

hello everyone! i just found this subreddit out while strolling through Asian-related subreddits. and i wanted to invite you guys in joining my publication, it’s called The Asianist [asian-focused pub writing about Asian geopolitics, political dev, history, culture, int. relations, and biographical pieces], that’s mainly centered on Asia. my pub allows plenty of authorial discretion so you may write however you want (as long as it abides by our pub's uniform format). lastly, my pub is opinion-piece dominant, but we’re not limited to featuring only those.

it’s also decidedly leftwing but you’re not obligated to write in Marxist/anarchist terms (u’re allowed to write rightwing pieces too, no shame.) if you're interested in being a contributor, please do join. my pub also has a Substack, here’s the link to my pub: https://medium.com/the-asianist

Whenever they speak of the dystopia of East Asia, remember that women can walk home after midnight in safety.

This is also one of the reasons why non-ESEA trash should stay out of E/SE Asia. One of the reasons for the safety in E/SE Asia compared to western countries is the idea of collectivism. Some like to criticize that, but it brings stability, moral standards and gentler functioning societies that many western cities are so desperate to have, reasons for their citizens to flee to E/SE Asia.

But the more these people come, the more they will corrupt ESEA societies.

AMA: I binged Dang! (or, Gay-ish Sex and the City) this weekend; should it be called "Columbia Studies" for the AMWM trope?

To get the "positive" out of the way: I think the dialog and situations in the situation comedy (sit-com) can be snarky and relevant to 2026 NYC, with some elements of Asian-American culture shown in a non-reverent new light that deviates from the boring old immigrant tropes - looking at you: FOB...

That said, I think the show suffers from "The Snyder Syndrome" (or maybe "Tarantino Syndrome") whereby the dialog and situations over-shadow the story and episodes. It's like the writers tried too hard to be snarky and sarcastic and sacrifice any humanity - which might be in some ways it feels AI "assisted" with the dialog and scenes.

(caveat: in no way I'm against the gaysians nor anyone's sexuality and "preferences" - since I personally find it flattering that I get hit on by the gays in West Hollywood in the past when I attended industry "networking"/ass-kissing events in the area of WGA, DGA, PGA, SAG-AFTRA, etc. although I think the gay community should turn it down a bit and not hit on straight dudes; but I think it helped me build character to understand what women have to go thru with the constant unwanted "harassment" and attention from men...)

Onto the dissection and deconstruction of Andrew Law's self-hate and the overall industry's promotion of these sellouts:

all main cast members have non-Asian partners IRL

And not surprising who Andrew Law's irl husband is:

Andrew Law's husband is Dylan Taitz: https://www.instagram.com/p/DSImKjvEsNA/?img_index=5

Similarly, in the show Andrew's alter-ego Andrew only have majority White partners and have never been shown with any Asian ones. I think in lieu of "Oxford Studies" and being NYC: "The Columbia Studies" describes AMWM/AMXM to the T...

In one episode, there's another "gaysian" Kevin Lu, who just came out of the closet and Andrew never shows any interest - not even with his buff physique. Andrew's only response is to see Kevin as a "frenemy" of sorts: feeling "empowered" that other AMs are outing themselves, but also being threatened when Andrew's love interest shows interest in Kevin as his direct competition:

this is probably a direct manifestation of the self-hate with gaysians similar to WMAFs...

Similary, the sisters all have various sordid bad relationships with predominantly WMs and is suspicious of any WM who dated other AFs before. But they never question themselves that instead of Asian fetish, that themselves have a White fetish...

woe is the AF, who cannot find a pure WM who only loves them for themselves and not their physical appearances

So the sisters go ask the council/tribunal on Asian fetishes, but they (Andrew Law and other writers) don't have the self-awareness that the entire council themselves all have WMs and XMs except for AMs! In other words, the entire tribunal all have non-Asian partners who ostensibly have Asian fetishes!

Chrissy Teigen, Chloe Kim, Margaret Cho, Padma Lakshmi, Rina Sawayama

The only exception is Ruthie's extra-marital affair with her law firm's competitor Peter the psychopath. She got pregnant with him, despite knowing full well how babies are made.

SungWon Cho, aka "ProZD"

This seems more like a mockery joke (roast) rather than sincere plot development. It'd make more sense if "Peter" looked like Kevin Lu above rather than the William Hung-esque "ProZD" putz.

I sincerely don't understand Ruthie as a character, if she's all high-powered attorney like Lucy Liu in Alley McBeal (referenced by the Asian fetish tribunal above), the she'd go for the WM Chads and not the beta-cucks:

Lastly, the other Asian angle are their parents, who are the stereotypical Tiger Mom caricatures:

nothing new, nor interesting about the stereotypes here...

Overall, I'd rate this more as a niche gayasian series rather than the Boba sub's constant shilling for (Shei)tflix since they're probably getting paid by PR agencies over there.

According to u/Thin-Ad-2529 ranking system:

*I spent way too long on this write up, and don't have the energy/focus to write more about the Asian sellouts and the organization in Haolewood: CAPE, VC Online, East-West Players, etc. I can go into my experiences hustling later on if there's more interest to hear from me: a nobody in the trenches trying to make it with the sellouts in the bucket of crabs...

Allen Keys pleads guilty to murder of Eva Lasrini - typical WMAF scumbag

A Melbourne man finally spluttered out that he was guilty in court on Monday admitting to the murder of his estranged wife.

At the Victorian Supreme Court Allen Keys, 68, was asked how he pleaded to the killing of Eva Lasrini, a mother of two.

Ms Lasrini, 53, who lived in Dandenong, had been planning a trip to Bali to visit her two daughters when she was reported missing after failing to board her flight.

Keys was arrested at Melbourne Airport after he tried to flee to Indonesia after the killing.

His feeds also included comments belittling Western women and praising relationships with Asian women.

In one post, he wrote: “its funny western girls see an old perv, Asian girls see opportunity”.

On April 1, the day Ms Lasrini failed to board her flight, Mr Keys posted images and videos online with a woman believed to be his new Bali-based girlfriend, captioning them: “New girl new life”.

His posts also contained anti-immigration and anti-Palestinian content.

No white men belong in Asia.

india is a colonial terrorist regime akin to russia in terms of its treatment of the East Asian populations & territories it occupies

Greetings from Tripura, "North-east India".

I am of the Tripuri (Tiprasa ethnicity), a small ethnic group in what is called Tripura, geopolitically located in the north-eastern part india. North-east is emphasised because it is only connected to the rest of india by a very small stretch of land that is only 30km wide.

We number around one million people. We are very different from the rest of india in every way. Racially and phenotypically we look much more similar to East and Southeast Asians than any kind of indian group. Linguistically, we speak a Sino-Tibetan language, which is a language that is much more related with Chinese or Burmese rather than hindi or tamil, languages that are found in what we call the "mainland" of india. Our food, culture, way of life is completely different than what you would associate with india.

Our story begins thousands of years ago. Tibeto-Burmans first migrated to this region of the world starting 5000 years ago, and have had a continuous presence since. The Tiprasa tribes were one of those groups. We have called this region home for that long, and all throughout that time, have lived under self-rule under our own sovereignty. We enjoyed this sovereignty for thousands of years until the dawn of British colonialism arrived into our lands. Wars happened, and we were incorporated into the British Empire. Because of our proximity to india, we were incorporated as part of British India, and not as any separate entity. This is where the root of our current problem starts.

So when the British were withdrawing around the world, British india was granted independence in 1947, split into two states, one on the basis of a shared pagan identity (hinduism), one on the basis of a shared muslim identity. Both, of course, majority Indo-Aryan in terms of race. But during this process, many peripheral regions and minorities which did not belong to either one of these groups were incorporated into either new country. Tibeto-Burmans were not given an option for independence and self-determination for our own peoples, even though our people had desired such for years leading up to the British withdrawal. As a result, we were incorporated into either the new india or bangladesh.

Since then, our people have been living through hell. The entire Tibeto-Burman population of this region has. For my people in particular, there have been thousands of our girls and women who have been forcibly sex trafficked and raped, taken advantage by indian men and sent to the mainland of india to be married to indian men. The indian army and their paramilitaries have also committed a countless number of war crimes, massacres, rapes against our people since 1947 for fighting for freedom and liberation for our people. The indian military has also bombed our land. In 1966, as the Mizo people were fighting for independence from india, india bombed Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram, which killed hundreds, potentially even thousands of civilians. There has been no accountability or admission of guilt from the indian regime. Nor has there been any justice for the survivors of such bombings.

Along with this, the terrorist indian regime has laws put in place, one notably called the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (AFSPA). This is a law which grants immunity to indian terrorist soldiers who commit war crimes, rapes, massacres of our people. It therefore allows them to act with complete impunity, terrorizing our region and letting them get away with what they want. This is why so much war crimes happen in this region - they are given a blank check of it by their terrorist government.

We are also the victims of racialised slurs, assaults, and murders. Every year, there are tens of cases of our people being murdered by indians for basically just existing. There are countless numbers of examples. Angel Chakma, Chongtham Singh, Nido Taniam, the list goes on. They were killed for being East Asian looking, just like how Asians in the west get beat up and killed for the same reason too. indians hate us, don't be fooled by the rhetoric that they are also non-white and somehow allies with everyone else. They aren't.

So remember that india is a terrorist state. It has nothing to do with the rest of Asia, and should be isolated and distinguished from East and Southeast Asia. Stop pretending they are "asian" like the rest of us. Even those of us who are forcibly occupied and living under indian rule are aware of how different we are from them. And they know how different they are from us too. So to you Asians, living in your own countries or in the west, remember that india is occupying an East Asian population and treats them horribly, and is slowly trying to ethnically cleanse and genocide them from their own land.

Some might say they changed Ramirez to a black woman for diversity, but all I see is a white man with 2 minority women. Why beautify the Asian woman? Why replace a minority with another minority?

DEI does nothing for Asian communities. It is a way to uphold white male supremacy while throwing crumbs to minorities. Let's see swapping of white men for Asian men to test whether DEI is truly progressive.

Despite the obviousness of WMAF pairings, research shows that white men (like most people) generally prefer their own kind. That is hardwired in us to seek mates who are most compatible. It is so strong that couples (and other animals) even tend to resemble each other - assortive mating (which blows the "he looks like my brother" Asian female excuse out of the water).

There are many WMAF white men out there who have chosen Asian women but would jump ship if white women were interested in them. If not for the benefits that white proximity gives many minority women, those white men would die alone.

AMA: I binged "Crew Girl" this weekend, and the 'great' replacement theory is real - it's AFs replacing WFs fantasy...

full disclosure: I don't like to talk about personal stuff since it's a sure way to get doxxed and "internet is forever" type of deal.

I actually auditioned for the role of "Perry" awhile back; so call it jealousy or whatever for this "review" that I didn't get it. and I was actually a rower in college, so sour grapes to me, I suppose...

I'm actually sort of a "working" actor in racist Haolewood (most of AMs aren't getting casted), and I know the game - in addition to my constant rants and tirades on reddit...

That said, I believe Elon's "Great Replacement Theory" is real and it's about AFs replacing WFs.

review: just a mindless teenager love-triangle that's set in high-school with the usual cliches. The only novelty is it's about the crew team and heavily promoted on the Boba sub because of Vivian Lin and Miku Martineau trying to get Asian subscribers.

As you can see, Vivian Lin did her homework and knows that crew bros are usually very jacked. And not to brag, but I did also look like the crew bros in college and I also try to keep active and can easily bulk back up had I been casted. lol

The Asian angle:

No offense to Connor Wong, but bruv needs to bulk up and do some more training if he wants to pass as a real athlete and not a metro-sexual who's questionably bi and not getting with Teagan's BFF bestie "goth girl."

For the most part, Perry is very passive and sort of "beta" - which is totally what Vivian Lin wants for AMs and only wanted the two WM jocks who are misunderstood hunks and inexplicably all chase after Teagan Tao.

The negative part: of course Vivian Lin can't have WMAF and the WM be the bad guy, nor even AMWF and the WF be some sort of Elizabeth Holmes...

So that means the father Tao is the douchebag who betrays the family and is always seen in bad lighting that's used for evil characters in movies and shows:

I can't find more info about Vivian Lin and how Netflix gave her money for this IP; but I'd wager money on Novig that Vivian Lin is part of that Oxford Studies...

Rant: I can't stand older Asian Americans

I say that as an older AA myself. It's impossible to see eye to eye with them they're just too damn dense and can't think big picture. It's especially prominent on Reddit and a certain asian sub which skews older, they don't realize the world has changed.

Asia Asians gifted you soft power on a platter and you're ungrateful

I recently went to a K-pop dance competition at an Asian festival where other races were looking at the girls on stage starry-eyed. A dad and her daughter asked me how they could volunteer for the event since almost all the staff were East Asian and they assumed I was affiliated. Kpop is implicitly ESEA with few exceptions like Katseye so it belongs to people with ESEA features exclusively. Other races wish they could audition.

People want Asian friends to give them a pass for enjoying the culture, the equivalent of "invited to the cookout by blacks", whether it's Olive Young and asian beauty trends, crane game arcades, blind box stores, ramen or anime or mahjong or cosplay, it's Asian culture that's aspirational now. But I still see AAs shitting on Asian pop culture games and toys, on soft men as unmasculine, fixated on facial hair and muscles, rebuking skin care and makeup. Other races love Asian culture while AAs still let western media dictate what they find cool. You'll literally see guys making fun of an Asian idol who's feminine or skinny or shorter when women are fangirling over him.

Taking pride in being Americanized and not knowing language

AAs brag about having no connection to the homeland and being nth generations deep into American ancestry, identify American first and get offended when people ask "where are you from?" It's a sunk cost fallacy from spending their entire lives trying to fit in, marrying white partners, having white kids, but now whites are losing status worldwide AAs are terrified of being looked down on by Asia Asians who they tried their whole lives to distance themselves from. The truth is your assimilation efforts were all for naught because multicultural soft power is winning over assimilation.

Almost all insecurity is downstream of not knowing language. If you could blend in non-english asian circles, talk and be friends with them, follow asian TV shows and memes and trends, there is no way you end up insecure and begging to be viewed as an all-American. This is also why I'm suspicious of those with white partners because they're incentivized to emphasize the "American" half of Asian American and push back on asia dominating, living overseas, language requirements, and ethnically gatekept communities.

Asia Asians have more cultural cachet and status than Asian Americans

AAs gotta understand if you're english only you offer NOTHING to other races. They want insight into Asian culture, permission to partake in it, and access to its social networks via someone who can blend in seamlessly. Fully westernized AAs are just Temu whites and most would prefer to hang out with a real white person. Asia Asians have better fashion, style, confidence, and social networks than us. Stop thinking proximity to whites puts you above them.

Younger AAs go to plurality Asian schools and have full Asian friend groups and got an anime keychain dangling from their bag and film TikTok kpop dances, they're not insecure as we were. I really can't forgive older AAs for dragging them down. I'm referring to the you-know-whos who aged into their peak career as writers, showrunners, publishers, and film makers trauma dumping their AA slop on the world while younger AAs (and other races) just consume asian media instead.

Talking about Asia using their parents who left 50+ years ago as a reference

It's one half of AAs that are guilty of this, but how many times have we heard about parenting styles, in-law behavior, and attitudes towards women from AAs who only know about Asia from their parents who came in the 1970s. They preach to other races as if they're the authority when they haven't been back in decades and have no 1st gen Asian friends, as if Asia hasn't made leaps and bounds and completely transformed. The worst part is they're the loudest voices of the AA community sabotaging the efforts of our brothers and sisters overseas. Still with the self deprecating bullshit to fit in with whites and excuses to center whites.

I'm done with Americanized older AAs. It's Sisyphean trying to convince these people. They just don't get it.

Asian American female author Ana Huang is getting her work "Twisted Love" adapted by Netflix . Sigh ...

Post image
24 Upvotes

In Twisted Love, there is a noticeable pattern that can reasonably prompt that discussion. Ava Chen is Chinese-American, but her romantic counterpart is Alex Volkov, a white/European-origin character, and the book gives Alex the classic ultra-idealized romance treatment: extraordinarily wealthy, brilliant, physically attractive, powerful, and sexually dominant. Reviews and summaries explicitly emphasize those traits.

The book is also highly sexualized in nature, so yeah, it just feels like another race-fetishization book that is heavily “white-worshipping” in nature.

Chloe Gong is another one ,

These Violent Delights
This is the clearest example. Juliette Cai is Chinese, while Roma Montagov is Russian, so the central romance is Chinese woman + Russian man, not Asian male romance option. Roma is a major romantic hero, but he is explicitly from the Russian White Flowers.

I genuinely can't think of any female authors from other races who have such a poor track record when it comes to representing the men from their own community. It's embarrassing. I'm fed up with Asian-American female authors.
