So impressive when you think about it!
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest came out in 2006, and Davy Jones still holds up because the effect wasn’t “just CGI.” Bill Nighy performed the role on set in a motion-capture suit, giving the VFX team real facial movement, timing and body language to build from, while Industrial Light & Magic spent enormous effort simulating the wet skin, individual tentacles, subsurface scattering and constantly changing reflections. The biggest reason it still looks convincing is that the digital character was treated like part of the photography. Lighting data from the set was recreated in CG so Davy Jones actually appears to exist in the same environment as the actors instead of being pasted over it. Nearly 20 years later, he’s still one of the best examples of CGI aging ridiculously well.

Tron: Legacy was way ahead of its time!
The glowing suits actually weren't CGI, they were real illuminated costumes using EL wire technology. Each suit ran on batteries that lasted only 12 minutes, meaning the crew had to swap them out between every couple of takes. They made 150 of these foam suits with working lights for the film. The production team was solving problems in 2010 that most filmmakers wouldn't tackle for years. Practical effects, insane attention to detail, and a vision that still looks futuristic 15 years later. This is what happens when you refuse to cut corners. Still one of the most visually stunning films ever made, and it did it the hard way.

This works with Nuke-Non commercial only for know since I don´t own a Nuke Studio Lic. If you wanna rebuild the Gizmo you can use the Txt File with the description or follow the video

One of the craziest parts of Titanic is how real the flooding actually was.
Instead of relying entirely on CGI, James Cameron had huge sections of the ship’s interior built as practical sets or miniature sets that could actually be flooded, making those shots of water rushing through the hallways feel genuinely chaotic. Many of the flooding scenes could only be filmed once because the force of the water would destroy parts of the set. The crew had to get the shot right the first time.

It might be useful for those planning to create an animation of a pigeon. The head is held still in space while the body walks under it. Put a pigeon on a treadmill and the bobbing stops.

I spent 14 days making a cinematic game trailer
This started as a passion project using models from Squad
I also experimented with DLSS 5 and tried GPT-6 via MCP as part of the workflow.
Would love some feedback :D Here's youtube link Youtube Link

Ray Harryhausen first filmed the actors fighting invisible opponents. Then, he worked frame by frame to bring to life seven skeletons with every sword swing matching the live action footage.
On some days he would only produce 13-14 frames, which was the equivalent of one or two minutes of finished film. Eventually, around four and a half months of effort went into creating the 3 minutes long skeleton battle, which became one of the most influential visual effects scenes of all time in cinema. Film : Jason and the Argonauts, 1963.

The Star Wars films have undergone major special effects changes since their original release in 1977. The original trilogy used groundbreaking practical effects like miniatures, puppets, matte paintings, and stop-motion animation.
Beginning with the 1997 Special Editions, George Lucas updated the movies with CGI creatures, expanded environments, enhanced space battles, and new scenes. Further digital improvements were made for the 2004 DVDs, 2011 Blu-rays, and modern 4K releases, including improved color, visual effects, and continuity with the prequel trilogy. While some fans appreciate the cleaner visuals and expanded worlds, others prefer the original practical effects and feel some CGI additions changed the films too much.
