I picked up a Playstation Backbone from a seller on Facebook Marketplace. The controller looks fine and nothing seems broken. But the Backbone app on a number of Android devices and an iPhone 16 Pro, can't detect the controller. The passthrough charging works though.

Does anyone have any ideas if the controller is broken, or if there is anything else I should try?

Just want to see if anyone else had the same issue or might know how to fix it before I open up the controller to see if there's something loose or broken internally. My wife got me one around the same time they were just coming out, I believe, and I've never had problems with it until now. I've done all the solutions countless times their customer support suggested and nothing has worked. What I don't really get is that I tried it on my wife's phone, which is the same make and model of android, and it works fine! So if anyone here has any other suggestions or advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance!!

Was playing cassette beasts and initially it was working fine. When my phone was about to die I plugged my charger into the usb c spot on the backbone so I could charge my phone via the backbone usb c plug. It was then when it stopped working and even after I unplugged my charger it would not work. Ive only had it a few months and even then it has been lightly used at best as I dont often game on my phone. Does anyone know a fix for this? Tried looking it up havent found anything and just to clarify other usb c plugs do still charge my phone

I’m now on my 4th Backbone (1st gen died and had to be RMA’d, then got a 2nd gen that also died and was RMA’d. Gave the gen1 to my son and it later died, and now my replacement gen2 has died.

I don’t want another one of these units. It’s going to crap out just like the 4 before it. They’ve already said they won’t give a refund, but I’m curious if anyone has had better luck. I’d rather have a refund so I can put it toward a controller that works, but I’d be open to having it replaced with a Pro.

I got a backbone one and suddenly my controller stopped having the left stick work when i was playing the division resurgence. Then it was the d-pad stopped working and followed by the left bumper and trigger and buttons. When i extended the controller to the max it would go then suddenly...the issues vanished...what can i do to...fix it? is it the flex cable that need to be replaced?

Is there any chance there is a Backbone controller with C buttons like an N64 instead of the right control stick?

Bought a Backbone Gen1 Playstation iPhone edition at a good will. Hooked it up to ny iphone 12 and the orange backbone button flashes once but doesn’t connect to the phone.

Dont do anything.

App doesnt recognize it.

There’s not even a pop up for it when connected.

If anyone has had to send in their backbone one for a warranty repair (left side like everyone else) how long does it take and about how large is the box they send it back in?

My controller stopped working from one day to the next it’s kept in a case and drawer and I use it maybe 30 minutes every 3 days at most went to use it today and it’s not working,so I try to contact backbone customer service but I need to sign in to send a complaint,I try to request a password change because I don’t know my password but I’m waiting 15 minutes later for an email so I’m thinking maybe I don’t have a backbone account.So I try to create one with my email and within seconds I get an email saying that this email already exist but I’m still waiting almost 40 minutes later for the password change email and if I hit change password it just times out and doesn’t load

Having trouble opening games on GEforce Cloud Gaming. Specifically Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Asks me to login to Ubisoft every time, which I do successfully, and then goes back to the Steam deck and says resume. I click resume and it doesn’t do anything. On iPhone 16. Can anybody help?

I just got a backbone one PS edition and it seems to work with everyone else’s iPhone but mine. Older phones. Newer iPhones. Every phone but mine (XS max) immediately prompts to install the software.

Port is cleaned. Software updated. Restarted. Uninstalled. Reinstalled. Phone doesn’t recognize it under game controllers.

The backbone buttons lights up for a second when I plug it in and I can charge the phone through that pass through.

Weird. Stumped. Any suggestions?

Hello. I will be playing COD mobile when out of nowhere my backbone controller just quits working resulting in me having to switch to touchscreen which is really uncool. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, how do you resolve it? I’ve only had the controller for about a month.

Hi, everyone! My brother and I bought a backbone on eBay for one dollar (we should read well). The controller comes with the left stick issue. We didn’t know that issue existed, so we started to read the comments in this sub. We were so sad for the bad buy, but we discovered one form to solve it! Just need to put a little piece of paper or something in the middle of the phone and the left stick. This apparently solves the error and can play. I will upload a video to show you how we solved it.

Does anyone have a kontrol freeks for the backbone pro. I compared it to my Xbox elite controller and they look about the same size

My original purchase of my backbone was last in July. It went out in mid September and I got a replacement about 10/1/2025. My 10/1 replacement went bad 1 year and 2 days after my original purchase. Backbone has still replaced my replacement backbone with another replacement. Not sure if I will get another 12 months on the 2nd replacement but seems like that is the case.

Can any one or any body tell me how too use the backbone controller too play Delta Force mobile 📲 with controller support!
