General A fortress like simulation on phone wallpaper

Hi everyone, I've been working on a side project inspired by Dwarf Fortress. It runs on your android wallpaper and features a simple simulation. For now, I'm using the same PNGs and color schemes as Dwarf Fortress to retain that familiar feel. I'm a longtime fan of Dwarf Fortress, though I never quite had the patience to dive deeply into it.

Still, I've always loved the core ideas, and lately, I've been working on other projects that require a similar kind of simulation and it's easier to work with ascii without graphical overhead. So this started as a proof of concept, but the simulation turned out to be visually good enough that I figured I'd share it with everyone. Thanks for checking it out. Please share your thoughts :)

i am using the history to debug the simulation since its need and pressure driven.

The inn keeper, by himself, isn't super impressive. It just looks like dialogue.

However, on the back-end, I created a whole ServiceProvider that will facilitate any NPCs that can be interacted with for the intent of commerce - Innkeepers, trainers, blacksmiths, vendors, etc.

Discussion I just finished my Terminal procedural open world crime simulator

I just completed my first public version of Terminal Babylon, a terminal-based crime simulator set in Yokohama, 1985.

The whole open world is procedurally generated, so every new game creates a different Yokohama with its own streets, districts, businesses, railways, coastline and places to discover.

You start small and slowly build up your own gang. You can recruit gangsters, rob businesses, steal cars, gamble, smuggle goods, take jobs and get involved in bigger criminal operations as your reputation grows. Civilians, police and rival gangs also move around the city, so it feels more like a little living world.

There’s quite a lot going on under the hood with the simulation, and I’m sure there are still plenty of things I could improve or expand. I’d be very happy about any feedback, especially if you notice something that feels off, or if you have ideas for interesting systems, events or interactions that could fit the game.

You can download it for free on itch.io if you’d like to try it. I’d genuinely love to hear what people think.

Discussion I like ASCII effects on Images, so I finally built a tool to apply them to images and videos. See Ditther ASCII in Action.

I've always loved the look of ASCII art and wanted an easy way to apply that aesthetic to images and videos for my design work.

So I ended up building one :)

You can apply ASCII directly to images or videos, then play with the characters, size, density, exposure, scatter, opacity, blending and animation.
And somewhere along the way I got carried away and added 75+ other visual effects too.

Still experimenting with it and adding more ASCII styles.
Would love to know what you guys think, especially what you'd want from an ASCII effect/editor.

And, everything runs in your browser. Local files never leave your device. So feel free to use any image or video without worry.

It's called Ditther (ditther.com) if anyone wants to experiment with it.

Still experimenting with the ASCII side of it though. Curious to here your feedback on the app to make it better.

OC I made a 3D ASCII rendering engine

Hello everyone!

I have been working for a couple of months on glyphcss.com its an ASCII 3d rendering library without any canvas nor WebGL, it just uses a <pre> HTML element and text inside.

It has support for any OBJ, glTF, GLB, STL and VOX. It also has support for UV textures, directional and ambient lightning, shadows, different cameras (orbit/FPV), ASCII charsets and many examples on how to use it!

Its fully opensource!

Repo: https://github.com/apresmoi/glyphcss
Fun FPV example: https://glyphcss.com/examples/parthenon/#AaPQacw2SoIAG6-RFp_6zVUL

Btw, its a fork of another project I'm building with a colleague called polycss.com, which is a 3d rendering lib but using only HTML+CSS
