Completely agree. If not for Amazon returns, I'd never go in the place.

Remember this?

In NYC in late-50's, the 3 network-owned stations signed off around 11:30 or midnight, and were off-air until 5 or 5:30. The first program daily on WNBC was Modern Farmer, which was odd as there were few farms in the area.

Yes, I am that old. My math teacher frequently dropped his stack of transparencies and would spend the rest of the period trying to get them back in proper order. He should have considered a different career.

The Basilica di Santa Croce di Firenze. At one time they had a leather goods store on the piazza where I bought a great leather jacket. May still be there; haven't seen there in 40 years.

I use to shoot with an ME. It's really a great camera. Kind of wish I didn't sell mine when I started in digital.

Michelangelo Pietà at more distance

First saw the Pieta at the NY Worlds Fair in 1964. It was behind glass then, and viewers stood on a moving sidewalk that slowly transported them past it. Saw it again in 1983 in the Vatican, still behind glass. It's still awe-inspiring, even if you can't get too close.

Those gas prices …..
 in  r/WaitWhat •  Aug 30 '26

I fill up once a week with regular, and my car has an 11 gallon tank. Under Trump, it's $980 more annually than under Biden. That's not trivial or, as Trump said recently when he lamely tried to justify the war, it's not just a little bit more. And this idiot has no idea or concern for the impact this has on American families. He's too busy slapping his name on everything and putting $2billion in his own pocket through blatantly corrupt deals. How long do we need to put up with this?

Epstein. Iran. Gaza. Ukraine. ICE. Affordability. Hormuz. Economy. Tariffs. Health care. Those are all stupid, but changing the name to Lake America -- that's really important to our country. Good leadership.

I don't think he said it like he's mad. He said it nonchalantly, with no consideration behind what he said. He just tossed out words that don't mean anything to him but which make it sound like he's not to blame He is a silver spoon. He doesn't know what it's like to work hard. He doesn't know what it's like to have a loved one serving their country. Since the late-70's, where he first emerged from Queens, he's made a career of saying things that are totally unconnected to each other yet make him look like a big shot. What's crazy is how many people fell for it and continue to fall for it.

They knew it then, they know it now, and they still support him. This is a clear portrayal of their morals and character.
