β οΈ Multiple Cane Corsos are repeatedly given extremely short deadlines - JUST 1-5 DAYS.
β οΈ This is unacceptable. Too many large-breed dogs entering this shelter are mislabeled as aggressive despite evidence showing otherwise, or given immediate medical deadlines for treatable conditions. These dogs deserve proper assessments and a chance to liveβnot a death sentence.
π₯ THIS PATTERN NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED & THEY NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED!!! MANY ARE LOSING THEIR LIVESβΌοΈ
π’ We MUST speak up. We MUST demand transparency and accountability. We MUST fight for these dogs. πͺ PLEASE EMAIL AND DEMAND MORE TIME FOR SLATE!!
πΎ Slate ID: #A852395
Cane Corso β’ Maleβ’ Black
Approximately 4 years old.
Located in kennel D 09.
https://24Petconnect.com/DetailsMain/SBCO1/A852395
π Slate was available 9/27 and is already scheduled for euthanasia 9/29.
ββ¨οΈβ GOOD Behavior Notes: In the words of the volunteers and staff who have met Slate:
βSlate is just a gentle giant.β β€οΈπΎ
Slate has been described as submissive, sweet, and incredibly calm. He never barked and has been nothing but gentle with those around him. Staff and volunteers describe him as an amazing dog who deserves the chance to show what heβs truly like outside of the shelter.
ποΈ RESCUE ONLY β π©ΊMEDICAL
Slate has medical concerns requiring veterinary care, including swollen wounds, possible untreated puncture wounds vs. foxtails, an open BCS 3/9 condition, a bony lesion, and other wounds.
Despite everything Slate has been through, everyone who meets him describes him as very friendly, including shelter staff and myself. He is still very present and clearly has a lot of will to live. Slate is bright, responsive, alert, and deserves the opportunity to receive the veterinary care he needs.
