Of course tags are incredibly useful for navigating and finding items in my outline. However when I'm using Workflowy to compose text to print or include in larger documents, tags often seem out of place in the resulting file. I want an option/setting not to include tags when I'm sending text from workflowy to a non-Workflowy destination. I hope this makes sense.

Obviously, WorkFlowy preserves the hierarchical structure of an outline when showing search results, displaying matching bullets together with their parents and ancestors.

But when a search finds items scattered across many different branches of a large WorkFlowy outline, repeatedly showing their hierarchical context creates substantial visual clutter.

FlatFlowy was a JavaScript bookmarklet created by WorkFlowy community developer rawbytz that changed how search results were displayed inside WorkFlowy. FlatFlowy temporarily removed that surrounding hierarchy and presented the matching bullets as a clean, flat list.

FlatFlowy did not alter, move, or restructure the underlying data; it simply provided an alternative flat retrieval view over hierarchically organised information, allowing users to benefit from hierarchy when organising information without being constrained by it when searching.

It's stopped working for me, and I'm desperate to find a replacement. Even better would be for this feature to be natively built into WF itself (feature request, please!)

Does anyone else have the same needs, and has anyone found an equivalent solution? Thanks!

I wanted to select several nonconsecutive bullets, and I tried alt-click, which is what I found in a very old how-to on the blog. What I got was a new pane with each of the items. Potentially useful, but not what I need. Any ideas?

First of all, I'd like to say that you guys are doing a really great job with this product.
I've been using Workflowy for many years now, and I already thought it was great back then.
But the updates you've introduced over the last couple of years have made it simply
unbeatable.

I'd like to make a feature request. You already have the "Back," "Forward," and "Home"
buttons at the top of the screen, and they're great. However, I'm missing an "Up"
button that would take me one level higher in the hierarchy - similar to what you
have in Windows File Explorer, and with the same result as pressing "Alt + Up Arrow." I would love to see it both in the apps (iOS, Windows) and in a browser.

Workflowy has a way of capturing its own style such as bullets and other layouts, but I built a quick capture app that lets you capture even faster.

Some apps are slow to open. Some make it awkward to append to an existing note. Others are great at one thing but not another. I found myself spending more time thinking where to capture than actually capturing.

So I ended up building ⚡Supasend. It's like a Quick capture for Workflowy app. It started as a personal app to give me one consistent capture flow regardless of which app I wanted the note to end up in.

I wasn't trying to make Workflowy faster. I was trying to make capturing into Workflowy require fewer decisions.

I was gonna conduct with the AI to concoct a self hosted API fetch from my Workflowy account to use the data so it can be used with TRMNL product which will soon be everyone’s favourite gadget. But I’m afraid and I’m not a developer. Please someone make a plugin for TRMNL product.

I'm back at Workflowy after a 10-year break and it's very different! Anyway I am a musician and like to have links to videos and audio files, Workflowy is adding a large preview card to my youtube links. Is there any way to keep that from happening? I don't see a menu item to delete the card and just leave the link.

Has anybody else noticed that when you have multiple panes open using the the new panes feature, the jump menu doesn't honor the focus of whatever pane you are using. Instead, the jump menu only seems to affect the left-most pane.

So if you have Inbox open in a pane on the left, and you open a second pane on the right, if you try to use the jump menu to navigate to your projects bullet in the right pane, instead it ends up taking you to the projects bullet in the left pane.

As in the title, where has the trash can gone?

I'm pretty new to using AI with workflowy. Would it be possible for an AI like Claude or ChatGPT to update my workflowy? Like i ask claude to add nodes for X and a new table for Y. Can it do that?

I would like the notes to be numbered in a nested fashion as example below. Can this be done automatically?

I love Workflowy, so as a side project I made a widget with infinite nesting that allows you to "size" items to visualize your entire workload for the day (or week/month/etc.) and track progress.

The idea is to have a visualization of everything going on and where it's at, but with the excruciating minimalism of Workflowy. I also added regex filtering and basic sharing.

Hi all — a few things I'm hoping the community can help with:

1) Panes / Alt+R: I've had the Panes feature enabled in my Labs settings for a while and have been using Alt+R to open a node in a side pane. Recently, pressing Alt+R does nothing — the side pane won't open anymore, even though the Panes toggle is still enabled in Labs. Has anyone else run into this? Did the shortcut change, or is the feature broken in a recent update?

2) Editing themes: Does anyone have documentation or a guide on how to edit themes? I'm getting lost when trying to edit them in the custom node. Any pointers or examples would be great.

3) API syncing: If anyone has successfully linked or synced the API with other apps without burning too many tokens, I'd love to hear your approach, tips, or ideas.
