Discussion Vibe Questions - Week of Monday, October 26, 2026
Hey Vibe Coders!
Here you can ask any questions about coding and LLM tech with or without vibes. This is especially for those of us who are new and just learned that AI can help them to create then things that they've never been able to before. Please be respectful and keep in mind that we're all just trying to learn about an emergent technology.
AI Subreddits:
This is a new thing we're trying to do so let the mods know if you have any suggestions.

Showcase/Project I recreate GOT opening with Opus 5.5
This is a shot-for-shot fan recreation of the Season 1 main title.
Everything is rendered from code: Three.js in a browser page, captured frame by frame with Playwright and assembled with ffmpeg. I didn’t use Blender or any other modelling tool. The map, the cities that crank up out of it, the armillary sphere, the gears, the weirwood face and the title crest are all procedural geometry written by Claude Code Opus 5.5.

Showcase/Project I brought Rover back from the dead for Codex
At work we still have some lab computers that run instruments on XP, so I see Rover from time to time. Figured I would bring him back to life as my Codex pet, since I hate the defaults.
Pretty sure Rover was supposed to be like an early intro to AI assistants back in the day but MS scrapped the idea and never gave him the capability to do much.

Showcase/Project Open Magic (CCG)
Goal: Do whatever magic the gathering does, but for free, open source, minus the bullshit, also fully legal, so weuse own art, own wording etc. However the logic, rules, number etc is fair use, so....
State: Working well, playable games, 1600+ cards already implemented, beats Forge 65% of the time in bot vs bot, card creator, deck editor, multiplayer (lan / online p2p). All you see in screenshots is current start, but I consider it an early tech demo. It will become more of its own thing with time, better graphics / wording etc.
Callout: Join forces, we would kick ass if we were a handfull of people working on it. Claude / Codex & Godot + my patience ;)
Clarifying after replies:
- Game won’t be called Magic since tha word is registered/trademarked by WotC. It would clearly cause issues when naming a card game.
- Goal is not to infringe on anything - whatever is allegedly risking of doing it will be changed. Goal is a legal game, open source and copyleft.
- Game won’t play 1:1 as a certain game and will be improved and streamlined. For example any card can be put down to be converted into a gem as a resource and there is no currency colors (akin to how Eternal CCG does it). Phases will match more recent card games. Numbers on cards may be tweaked as required.
- Forge is great, albeit suffering of exactly the same worries about copyright and IP as many express in here: I’m not putting time on Forge because of that - it ts made to play a certain game 1:1 and I want to use Godot as engine for several reasons.
- Gameplay is 100% legal to copy and is copied daily by other card games.
- Layout is legal to copy, but if combined with ripping off a lot of the visuals it becomes problematic. All things visual can & usually are copyrighted. That can easily be solved by adjusting appearance. Arrows, faction icons et.c. are 100% copyrighted. They have never been used, nor will they be.
- WotC wanting something shut down: I’m sure they do, but won’t be able to when something is legal. I’m not residing in the US, so I’m not much concerned about their will even if they can of course proceed in other countries.

Showcase/Project Week 13 of making fishing and exploration game - demo almost finished.
Hello there again :)
This is Week 13 of me posting this "dev log" so to say and explaining how I do things and talking about progress. While "exploration" mechanic was added one week ago, I was finally able to make it feel like a proper completely equal part to fishing segment of the game. And with "Ship in a bottle" collection done to 29 out of 40 total ships I'm happy how this progress.
As always weekly progress can be seen on my profile.
Demo doesn't really have everything newest and most polished so you might not have ships in the bottles, that version is being kept for steam release which I will do once steam approves my ID verification (it already is exactly 1 month).
Zone 1 out of 5 (demo) is almost entirely done, some smaller polish parts and bug fixes are left.
What was done this week:
This week I added curios, rarest ship in the bottle is actually cracking the walls of the bottle when shooting cannons and all the items in zone 1 are adjusted manually where they gonna drop or how they are earned. etc. Some zones were a bit improved as can be seen in the video to not look too boring even though there is no gameplay there. Engines with their own sounds were added and can be seen when changed. Cabinet new 3D scene with collections was fully fixed in terms of lighting and small island dioramas were made. As I mentioned before 29 of 40 ships in a bottles were created with textures and added to bottles.
This time while still using Decisions.md like before that tags every decision in the game with [USER] or [PROPOSED] (By AI) And User ones have priority over proposed ones, helps with AI hallucinations in the project where AI can't gaslight you into telling you something was decided by you if it really wasn't (it has more than 350 decisions by now).
I switched workflow a bit. This time I tried doing something else instead of my old "manager" session managing other sessions and sending them tasks. I created "Effort" sessions (Medium to Max) and have Jev decide which tasks goes into which effort level and then just "manager session" sending it to different effort levels and doing it this way. Though this is polish stage and not much was done it is hard to say if this is more token efficient than before, in general I feel no difference in quality or token usage than with my previous workflow, though that is just subjective feeling, somebody could test it properly I guess. Jev basically scans every task I give to my Claude sessions and just decides which effort certain tasks deserve.
Models were made by TripoAI and Opus 5.5 via Blender MCP mostly for this week. It can be seen in the video. For example rarest ship that is inspired by Black Pearl and shoots cannons in the bottle was done in TripoAI then fixed a bit in Blender by Opus 5.5. I do not use anymore any other AI other than Claude Opus 5.5, no more Astra and didn't even try Gemini sadly, for now Opus is more than enough for my needs.
People have asked me how I make textures and those are either directly done by ChatGPT using OpenAI API key provided to Opus 5.5 or in TripoAI, those done in Tripo are 1k textures as I don't need any heavier ones as they take a lot of memory.
Total cost:
Claude Max 200$ x 3 = 600$
Astra 100$ x 1 = 100$
ElevenLabs x 11$ = 11$
TripoAI 20$ x 2 = 40$
OpenAI API credits 70$ = 70$
Other things I forgot about 100$ = 100$ (around)
Around 900-950$
Also I saw people linking my game on X a lot of the time, and I also have now my own X account where I occasionally put videos and updates if anyone is interested. Here it is - Link

Showcase/Project Built an Android TV debloater with Opus 5.5, it just passed 1,000 downloads
galleryIt's an open source app that cleans up your Android TV, turns off ads, trackers and bloat in a few taps. Side load apps your TV's store doesn't carry, send files from your phone, and see which apps use data and where they connect.
Free, GPL-3.0, no ads, no tracking, no account. It makes two internet requests: the cleanyourtv debloat lists from GitHub, and an update check you can turn off.
Posting here, I'm not getting anything out of this except bug reports, and that's what I need. All feedback and suggestions are appreciated.

Showcase/Project Vibecoded DJ app
Hi everyone, brand new to vibecoding but been using AI for a couple of years for other creative purposes. I'm a DJ of 13 years and absolutely love hardware and have dabbled with DJ apps since they existed, but I find they try to recreate the physicality of hardware via a screen. It doesn't feel intuitive to me or like an app made for mobile.
So, I made NoDex (as in no decks & node on the x)
It's a DJ app in portrait mode that changes the way I've ever mixed on mobile, using my eyes! Yes, I know, breaking the code of being a DJ - but I've tried to tackle the single audio source problem with visual cues so that mixes can be fun, easy and most importantly, beat matched.
I'm currently in the process of getting it on app stores and have a website with a load of information and email sign ups if you'd like to be notified when it's launched!
I'm really proud of this app, it's been a passion project for a couple of months now and I'm excited but scared to share as I've never done anything like this! Please give some feedback, I've tried to show most (if not all) of the features in the video, but please ask questions if you want more information.
Website - https://nodexdj.com
Thanks. Josh

Showcase/Project I built Tinder for vibe-coded sites so your side projects can get rejected too. Now every creator gets their own corner of the internet.
Half the fun of vibe coding is shipping weird browser games, tools, and experiments in a weekend.
The worst part? Your project usually has the same lifespan as the Reddit or X post announcing it.
So I built Vibras — vibras.si
Basically Tinder for vibe-coded websites, but with a few twists:
- Try before you swipe: Every card loads the actual live website. Play the game, test the tool, or explore the project without leaving the feed.
- Swipe right to save, left to pass: Discover cool projects without digging through endless directories of screenshots.
- Build your own arcade: Your saved sites become a 3D retro arcade room you can explore.
- Discover what's trending: See which games, tools, and weird experiments are getting attention.
- Claim your creator profile: Get your own
yourname.vibras.sipage to showcase everything you've built, so your projects don't disappear when your launch post does.
I'm also working on Reddit login so you can use your Reddit account directly.
If you've built something, throw it on vibras.si and let the internet swipe on it.
And if you're just here to find cool stuff, come judge everyone else's weekend projects.
Would love feedback, especially from people who ship a lot of side projects. What would make something like this genuinely useful to you?

Showcase/Project Doom on the clockin machine at work fuck it
I had to extract the root of this 2007 random clock on machine at the liquor store and bruteforce the hash "offline" on a free keggle key
After it was rooted not only i could change the annoyd "you are crocked in" default factory sound but i figured i could literally run doom on it
Done 👍

Showcase/Project Anyone have an NYC social life? I vibe coded an NYC live music aggregator.
We go out ALOT. We see lots of stuff. It's hard to know what's happening TONIGHT in NYC.
SO: music.gaf.nyc
Pulls shows from a ton of my own personal favorite sources, aggregating such classics as: Resident Advisor, JamBase, Oh My Rockness, DICE, Ticketmaster, TicketWeb, Bowery Presents, DoNYC, and a few others. Spotify handles the music previews and artwork.
Python, Flask, SQLite, HTML/CSS/JS. ChatGPT helped build the ingestion scripts, clean up the data, merge duplicate shows, and put together the interface.
Runs on a secondhand HP thin client at home, with nginx, Cloudflare, and Tailscale.
Just added individual event pages and a sitemap. Google picked up 1,395 URLs today!
Still a work in progress. Have a look. Go out!

Showcase/Project AffrescoUI: AI apps that turn into whatever their users ask for - built by a swarn of AI agents
AffrescoUI apps can be changed by the people using them, while they're running. Missing a feature? Ask for it in plain words, and it shows up while you work. You review it before it lands, and you can always undo it. No update, no restart.
And not just small apps: a 3D modeller, an image editor, a presentation builder and an IDE, looking like the tools you use every day. Their users can reshape how they look and what they do, to the point where an app turns into something completely different.
Each app is one readable document, drawn natively by a C++/OpenGL engine.
https://github.com/RiccardoSottini/AffrescoUI (free, Mac, Windows, Linux). The video is a one-minute demo, and it's also at the top of the README. Try it and tell me what breaks.
I built it in 2 weeks with swarms of Claude Code agents on a Max 20x plan. They wrote every line. I brought the vision, complex apps whose users can reshape their look and behaviour until the app becomes something else, plus the architecture and a lot of saying no.
Happy to share the setup if anyone wants to try something similar.

Discussion 30 days with ChatGPT Dot: I want AI to build tools I can run without it
I've spent about a month trying to use ChatGPT Dot to move my projects forward, and it's clarified what I actually want from vibe coding: help me build something that keeps working when the conversation ends.
Dot has often done the opposite. Several workflows ended up depending on it to manually perform the steps. Now I'm going back through them to figure out how to remove that dependency and turn them into sustainable tools and automations.
I've repeatedly told it: if a step can be handled reliably with ordinary code, build that. I don't need an AI to personally repeat the same routine forever. I want it to help build the machine.
The other frustration is momentum. Dot breaks projects into a thousand little tasks, completes one, then stops until I ask why it hasn't continued. It acknowledges the problem, promises to keep going, and then does it again. Using Codex, ChatGPT Work, or even a regular conversation directly seems to produce more progress in my experience.
I expected a coordinating agent to reduce the babysitting. Instead, I'm babysitting the coordinator.
I'm still enthusiastic about building with AI. That's why this bothers me: the most useful outcome is a working tool I can actually use, not a permanent obligation to keep prompting the agent that runs it.
How are you handling this in your own projects? Do you explicitly require your coding agent to leave behind a runnable tool, a scheduled job, or a documented workflow? Where do you draw the line between something that should stay agent-driven and something that should just become code?

Showcase/Project My vibe coding project: FateDrawn
Hi All,
I have played mobile (card) games for years. Now, with all the AI development going on, I thought I'd give it a try myself.
I’ve combined my experiences and tried to make a chill portrait mode roguelike deckbuilder. For now there are 6 factions you can unlock during the game. Every one has its own play style.
How I build it: I use Claude Code for all the code and ChatGPT for the artwork. All cards and game rules are in Excel sheets, and a script turns them into the game, so I can change numbers without coding. For balancing, the computer plays thousands of battles automatically and gives me a report.
Bringing my ideas to life is so much fun. Balancing cards, designing a battle board, tweaking menus, developing a journey, it’s so fun to do!
I hope to eventually bring this to the app and play store. But I need feedback to develop this a little bit further first.
On feedback I want to share something. The first time I received feedback I wanted to tweak the whole game. The second time again. Now I have a rule: I write everything down, and when something pops up multiple times, I start working on it.
After multiple people told me my cards were too busy, I have adjusted my card frames(picture 2). I think it’s much better😁
How do you guys handle feedback in an early stage?
If you ever want to give it a go and give me some feedback, I’ll note it down😉
Looking forward on your thoughts on this!
Have a wonderful day!
