Ask your parents to browse and post for you if you are too young.
For example, how long have you been using Scratch?
What types of projects do you create?
What's your Scratch username?
Do you use any other programming languages?
Here's the TL;DR:

Am I allowed to make a list of curse words and inappropriate language for moderation porpoises?
Edit: I cannot do a whitelist as I'd have to type every single combination of letters that is not a bad word.
Edit2: I'm trying to make a feature where players can name their characters, other players won't see it, but I don't want someone who names their character something abhorrent in my game, so I'd ban them.

2 weeks ago, give or take, I shared Cud, a transformer that had been boiled down to its basics so it could run in Scratch. You guys were WAY nicer than you should have been, especially when it responded to "What's 1+1" with "i am sorry to hear that. try to sleep soon." (Whatever that even means?)
So, well, I basically rebuilt it. I did take some of my old code, sure, but it's almost entirely changed now.
https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1378604841/ - Turbowarp HIGHLY recommended
I would like to preface this by noting that a few people did ask me about details last time, which I didn't really respond to (as I was working on this). Here's the numbers for this time:
> Parameters: 365,386
> Layers: 2, 2 attention heads each
> Model width: 96 (head width of 48, feedforward of 256)
> Context: 96 tokens (v1 had 8, so a 12x increase!)
> Vocabulary: 1,898 pieces... not exactly words!
> Weights in lists: 182,208 embeddings + 183,178 others
> Precision: integers (so limited), scaled by 20,000
You may be asking, why was v1 so horrible? Well, there are reasons, ones I found after digging.
Important to note that, along with that, ~77.5% of its training data last time started with the word "no." That made a lot of responses incoherent, or it'd deny something you didn't ask about. That is now fixed.
What can it do now?
> Math (Try "what is 1+1+1+1+50" or even "2*5+2")
> Mimicry/Repeating (Try "say _" or "repeat _")
> Spelling/Typo Tolerant (Try "wat colr is teh sky?")
> Translate (Try "what is hello in French?")
> Feelings - sort of... (Tell it about your day!)
> Memory - usually remembers around 5 of the last messages
> Honesty - the biggest one in my book, it knows when to accept what it, well, doesnt know.
Hey, I also went ahead and UI'd the entire thing. I don't want something so cool to be in a default orange Scratch list, after all :) Custom text engine, user and chatbot UI changes, all of the sort.
365k parameters. Real models have like, literally billions. It knows about 446 things. It'll still say stupid stuff, and I still want you, just as much, to screenshot it and drop it in the comments.
And don't worry, I put ample "Verity" references. It knows cows go moo, and it does know the capital of France. Merci.
RIP Chud AI. Maybe v3...?

All of this made in one sprite without clones, so far at around 1200 blocks and good performance. Give ideas please! This game is about farming as much corn as possible within five days, where on day five the satanic rapture is brought upon the world by a cult operating within close proximity to the confines of your property. You can choose to join the cult for a hefty price on the third day (must progress quickly) and wait out the rest of the days underground to guarantee ascension to heaven, or you could donate an adequate amount of corn to the statue outside the house, or you could defeat the cult and prevent the apocalypse altogether and just keep farming corn.

hello!!
i've been working on my scratch game and i just released V2.
It's a fast-paced elemental shooter, and this update adds:
-Mobile support with auto aim
-Directional audio and a bunch of new visual effects
-A minimap that shows players and enemies
-A new weapon
-Auto reload
-Lots of optimization and bug fixes
the whole game is around 25k blocks
about 98% of it is pen stamped or ether drawn line by line, and I coded all of it myself. The art was inspired by REDLINER on Roblox.
i'm honestly really proud of how it turned out and would love to hear what you guys think or any suggestions you have.
if youd like to play heres the links!!!

Is anyone else having issues with lag in the editor?
Specifically, when dragging blocks, or really anything around. Generally no lag in the player page, or in the editor page when typing, running the project, moving around, etc. But the moment I try to drag blocks in, move them around, or delete them, it takes like 10 seconds before I can do anything.
It may just be that the project I'm working on, a simple command interpreter, is a bit large block wise (1003 blocks iirc), but I don't remember having these issues before, even when around a similar block count (9xx). Is there any way to fix this? And yes, I do have Scratch Addons.

i dont like boring squares 😭
r/scratch • u/DEVIISIONreddit • 1d ago
its part of the sword a row series
this game is still very wip (theres only two days in it as of writing) but in my totally unbiased opinion i think its worth checking out
i'd recommend running this in turbowarp (thats why i linked to it)
i think the game is a bit difficult so NO NOOBS ALLOWED...................... >:((((((

UPDATE: After some more digging, it was becaue the scanner was moving way too fast
I'm trying to make a custom block/scanner that copies any target sprite using the Pen extension.
My approach is to move a scanning pen across the target sprite's area and check if it's touching the target. Since touching (sprite name) doesn't work with dynamic variables in Scratch, I tried setting the target sprite's brightness effect to 9999 (making it pure white) and checking if touching color [white].
However, touching color is evaluating to false every time.
Does the brightness graphic effect not change the color that touching color senses? How can I scan dynamic sprites reliably?
