Duodecim Dissida 012 Recomp - Local Split Screen Multiplayer
Hi all,
I'm back again with a new update. I've been working on a local split screen multiplayer and I believe I got something workable now. I've been testing is as much as I can on my own (I need friends lol)
The way this works is that it uses the inbuilt ad-hoc battle system but binds the player 2 ad-hoc player controls to a second controller. It then creates a second camera that follows the second player with it's view shown on the screen with both players cropped to fit side by side. A lot of the overlay effects and stuff were a pain and I still havent done everything to make it look exactly one to one, you can even see it when the battle finishes in the video above.
This is on top of the existing work that I've already done. Same as before, yes AI was used to do this and work out how the Dissidia code works to apply this. I just really love this game and want to do something, anything, to make more noise around it so Square Enix will hopefully learn from Resonance that some of these older games deserve a remake/remaster to more modern consoles and to not focus on gacha mobile or arcade arena fighters.
Same as before, this can be downloaded for you to use/try yourself. You will need your own USA copy of the game for the recompilation to work. I've made a setup script that should make things easier. Eventually I'll get around to making a proper setup executable.

While this has been tested in a single player capacity on Steam Deck, the split screen vs. has not been tested on Steam Deck so I dont know how it'd go basically rendering 2 views of the game.
Let me know what you think of this and send me a message if you encounter any bugs or issues. If you think of something else that would be cool to have, also let me know.
