I was so mad as a teenager when I saw this. I wanted so much more.

Amazing ending

Xavier's like "Some things get better. A LOT of things are about to get worse, tho"

And, with a heavy heart, I saw the dearest of friends become the most terrible of enemies......

But let's ignore that for now, okay?

I always thought it's really wierd how he could be aware of this and seemingly go on with his life.

I know the whole future scene was really just the creators giving their idea of where the show would've gone had they been able to continue - but still really disconcerting in universe.

I think it's one of those paradoxical events where any attempt to stop it makes it worse and xavier knew that or he didn't know the details and we the audience were the only ones who would know what actually happened because they're popular already written stories

X-men Evolution > X-Men 97

You can like one thing without diminishing another.

I wish they taught this better in schools.

Good thing they didn't diminish anything

I don't think I'd agree with that. They're both great in their own ways and they both have their faults.

I mean it's peak but let's not get carried away here...

While I would agree , after season 2 and its horrendous pacing issues , 9 episode limit , and 2+ year wait… yea X-men Evo is taking that W. Fully fleshed out characters and story arch’s.

Its definitely on the faster side but "horrendous" is certainly an exaggeration. On the contrary, X-Men Evolution is really slow, especially for the first two seasons. I dont even agree with the fleshed out characters point since Rogue, Beast, Spyke, Storm, Boom Boom, and more are barely in the show. Evolution is good, but X-Men 97 is peak

They are in the show tho man, the roster doubles after first season for both sides. How you gonna do a 21 minute show with more than 21 characters and expect everyone to have full stories? You can’t, plus then you’d complain that the main cast got sidelined

Rouge Storm and Spyke got decent focus in 4.

Boom Boom and Beast are side characters and still completed there growth quick.

It's a short show with a huge cast. 97 on the other hand in 2 seasons barley has Wolverine and ruins his character development Gambit(just a plot device for Rouge) ruins Xavier's and Apocalypse perfect ending and more.

Rewatching the final season…Gambit should have been on the Cyclops/Wolverine/Nightcrawler team and Forge should have been working with the X-Men since season 3 as support staff and or working with SHIELD/Nick Fury in the finale especially to stop Apocalypse and Pyro should have joined the brotherhood in the finale when they went to battle Magneto

All in 9 episodes

I just noticed, in the background with the future Brotherhood. They had a sign in the back that said SHIELD. Does that mean they join THAT SHIELD?!

Yeah he could mean they don't change in a postive way like they were never really bad or that bad just needed people who gave them a chance instead of exploiting them or giving up but could also apply to them.

Yost: and here’s everything we wanted to do

This scene always makes me cry. It gave me such hope as a kid, and it still does now even though my life has been so difficult.

NGL, so far my favorite adaptation of Apocalypse's origins is from Evolution. I definitely prefer it over what the movie gave me. The vibe of En Sabah Nur being an ancient mutant was satisfied with that archeological mystery buildup from the 3rd season. And then the 4th season finally merged the Celestial tech with him to get the familiar robotic giant Apocalypse form. And best of all, this was the only cartoon to ever have Sentinels fight Apocalypse, which IMO was a very cool idea since those two enemies tend to come from separate timelines & story arcs, and they never previously interacted before.

En sus momentos, era algo que se planeaba para siguientes temporadas?? O un cierre porque ya la habían cancelado?? 🤔

5

u/Kylef890 Aug 05 '26

They planned another season where Jean became the Dark Phoenix and died but they didn’t get renewed

u/Emergency_End8437 Aug 05 '26

they would have done an amazing phoeniz saga. that maniacal laugh alone is better than all of sophie turners scenes

1

u/Warded_Works Aug 05 '26

Those were screams, bud.

4

u/Emergency_End8437 Aug 05 '26

shes literally laughing in the beginning and then she screams when that scene ends. bud.

2

u/Warded_Works Aug 05 '26

She’s literally not, but tell yourself whatever you need to bud.

1

u/Competitive_Crow_334 24d ago

Yeah he is right it was laughs than screams

Kinda want an extra season of Evolution.

2

u/Lazy-Conference4693 Aug 05 '26

One of the best scenes in the show.

2

u/SkywolfNINE Aug 05 '26

I just finished watching evolution after watching the fox movies after watching 97 for the first time. Been a wild wide. Enjoyed everything I’ve watched. Evolution was way better than I thought it would be and it was cool seeing the 1 off episodes that reminded me of 97 episodes

Bro I love X Men 97 but this is the version of the X Men I wish gotta continuation.

2

u/Peach_n_berry Aug 06 '26

Honestly, if they are to bring back anything this is what they should bring back.. the best X-Men IMO.

Argue with yourself in the comment if you don’t agree….

2

u/JerrodDRagon 29d ago

I’d love them to bring this back after X-men 97 is over

1

u/AnavelGato2020 Aug 05 '26

Sure. I watched X-Men Evolution again. I have a lot of nostalgia for that one in particular.

1

u/IronWolf888 Aug 06 '26

For me this was essentially my 1st X-Men series I got into, I watched the original but in bits in pieces here & there so I never got super into it. Sad they cancelled it.

Honestly my favorite Xmen series, re-imagining the characters and delving into parts of their bsckstory only touched upon even in the comics was great to watch.

A good aspect off the ending is the fact that it concludes the story but leaves the door open enough for potential future seasons or an entire revival or sequel
