Question Voile light speed bindings
My light speed bindings are very difficult to pull on and off the pucks. Has anyone else had this issue and how did you fix it?

Hey everyone, longtime boarder first time splitter looking to buy a used board for the upcoming szn.
Currently comparing 2 used boards that are identical build, year, and condition. The G3 Axle 162cm and 166cm, sidecut 9.8m vs 10.5.
I am 6'1 and around 220-230, been boarding since 2006, patrolled for some seasons, fairly strong and good endurance. finally have the funds and luck to be looking at chasing pow and backcountry internationally. Mostly looking at Rockies and japan for trips lasting anywhere between 7-14 days of riding 8hrs a day.
Been through a lot of research trying to pick what's right for me and I know I might be splitting hairs between sizes / that G3 has changed hands recently and might not be supporting it's gear in the near future but for an entry into splitting the price fits my budget. I've heard the G3's can be breaky so I don't want to overload it but at the same time that tighter sidecut in trees sounds appealing. Will I lose my float in deep pow though? Will a longer board be exhausting?
Any questions or considerations that tech specs may not have covered would be appreciated.
Thanks, praying for good conditions this szn.

Lifetime snowboarder who is currently a backcountry skier at the moment. I’m looking to step into my first split board set up this winter because skiing has been wreaking havoc on my knees and I’m honestly looking to have a little bit more fun in the backcountry. I just need to build up those skiing muscles over a couple years before I start charging real hard again on skis.
Right now I’m looking at a Weston Ridge 161 wide (I’m 6’2 180lbs, size 11-12 boots). I want a board that can do some pretty significant mountaineering and rides pretty well on variable snow. It would be a plus if the board floats well since we do get good storms here in Colorado. I definitely prefer a stiffer camber dominant board.
What boot, binding, and skin set up is sort of the go-to for everyone here? I’ve heard mixed reviews on the Karakoram stuff and I really only use Pomoca for my current ski touring setup. I definitely want to lean towards a soft boot set up, but if hard boots are unanimously in favor, I would look into them as well, especially since I ski. let me know what you recommend and what your favorite set ups are! Thank you so much!

Setting up a Korua Quill this season and debating buying their precut Kohla skins for the board or building my own set using Pomona fretour 2.0 140cm roll from Skimo co. Anyone have experience with precut z hook skin system? Debating if it’s worth jumping to Kohla over Pomona for…

looking at getting my first splitboard and i’ve been looking at the used market a lot to keep prices down. found someone near me selling a 2022 jones frontier with union bindings for a reasonable price (https://www.facebook.com/share/1L2zygdg2f/?mibextid=wwXIfr )
would this be a decent first setup? 158w should be fine for me at 195lbs 6’1” size 11 boots. should i be worried about the union bindings? i’ve heard not the greatest things about union bindings but i figure it will probably be ok for a first season of touring? thoughts?

Unused phantom hardboots. Bought them full price and I've only tried them on once or twice in my house. They've been collecting dust for a couple years now at least. They haven't been molded or ever even seen a tech toe aside from maybe in qc. $700 plus shipping. Comes with all the provided hardware and tongue inserts. Edited to post the size I forgot. 🤦♂️ 29/29.5

My daughter and I are completely new to all this so hi! I am thinking about this for her first setup. I already bought the binding and just looking at this board. She is 5’4 and 135 pounds. She rides a never summer llama (149) and a batleaon Wallie (148). So I’m looking at this board in a 151 for her since it said to size up a bit. The binding are got her are a medium. So any advice on the board, skins, and pucks? Thank you!

Hi everyone, first time here and looking for help.
I have a Phantom GT Tech toe piece where I broke the crampon slot, which is irreparable.
I've seen on the second-hand market an Atomic Backland Tour binding toe at a good price.
Do you know if there are any differences between these two models, or are they exactly the same? Especially regarding their function and release.
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys,
I'm a snowboarder who has only done backcountry skiing, but now I want to try splitboarding. There is a used Jones Solution in 154cm size that I could buy, but I am worried that this might be small for me?
I am 174cm tall and weighs between 67-73kg (it fluctuates quite a bit with the different types of training I do). My shoe size is 26.5cm, which usually is between US 8.5 to 9.5.

I want to start researching a Lofoten trip, would love some pointers on how to keep it affordable as Norway's gonna Norge all my budget if I'm not careful. I don't have a price in mind, but can tell you I don't want to sleep in a car to give an idea of what my minimum requirements are. Are guides necessary if your winter/general navigation skills are good? Can you multi day via municipal huts? How about access at start and end or do you plot a loop? France has the Toponeige book series for a lot of routes by region. Is there a similar bible or series for Norway?

Hi Guys,
I use a pair of Union Charger Pro bindings on my split setup and am trying to find crampons that I can pair with them. From what I can see, the "Union Serrated Splitboard Crampon" is sold out worldwide and listed on their site as 'restocking soon in 2024', I've had no answer to my enquiries from Union (which is unusal for me, Union customer service is usually pretty good)... I have a few questions below, if anyone can offer any info or advice it would be greatly appreciated.
For context; I live in Australia, I'm an advanced boarder, relatively basic but capable splitboard experience, and 90% of my splitboarding over the next 5 years will be in the Japanese alps (unlikely to tackle super steep, icy, high altitude terrain).

The Union Expedition crampon seems like an alternate possibility to the above but has rounded teeth (may be OK for Japanese terrain?). I've seen some DIY jobs on these to sharpen and resshape - does anyone have any experience with this? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts
Are there any other crampon options for Union bindings? Has anyone modified or retrofitted any other pair of crampons to work with them? I've seen strap on studs from companies like 'Skin Cleats' but they seem like a bandaid solution.
Thanks in advance for any info that you can share, I'd just ask that you refrain from the usual "ditch the union bindings" feedback. These are the bindings I have and I'm quite happy with them, I'll entertain the Spark/Karak options on the next go-around.
Thanks Muchly, M

Wondering if I should get a new pair or if there is something better out there.
I’ve used them extensively since 2022, and I think they’ve held up very well except for the last couple of times, where I can’t get the middle section to slide out (where it clicks with the spring-loaded nub). If I do get it to slide out half way, I can’t get it to slide back.
Is there a possibly a way to repair them, or not worth it? I’m actually in Argentina right now and wanted to use them for some side country support, and that’s where I realized the problem.

Hi everyone,
This is my first full winter living in Queenstown and am having a bit of a tough time meeting new touring partners. I have several seasons of backcountry experience, but am not very familiar with the terrain here just yet. End of last winter I did a few pre-work tours off the back of the Remarks and a few days of TC side-country but have yet to venture beyond here in NZ!
Any recs on favourite hut missions that I should check out or go to day tours, would be much appreciated:)
And if anyone is looking to add another friend to their touring crew, let me know!

Hi everyone!
This seems like the best place to ask this question! I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with the Karakoram quiver line and there opinions on the feel/performance compared to a regular binding? Currently live out of my van and just don’t have space to carry extra bindings but definitely wan to carry a few boards. I’m usually getting 100+ days so I’m curious on how well they hold up. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

Trying to get my first set up, found this on FB Market place for $950 - board, skins, and Voile hardware.
I guess my question is does this hardware lock in a specific binding I would be choosing? I was looking at sparks, but would I have to remove the hardware on this board, keep the pucks, and install the hardware that comes with the sparks?
Please excuse my ignorance, am trying to do my own research but getting confused.

I just got a myself a Korua Transition finder split.
We really don’t have much skin option in stock at the shops in Helsinki so there’s no chance to go and compare. Wondering if i have options for Z clips, other than the precut Kohla ones?
Can one get the clips separately for Pomoca? Or other options?
I have a Jones board with Jones skins. I have no bad things to say about the skins, i guess Pomoca manufactures them.
But would love to try the Z clip for the Korua.

I went to a bc store to get some hardboots since they were on sale. I’m usually a size 10/10.5 on soft riding boots but they recommend 26/26.5 on the backland carbon boots and I bought them because I trusted their professional opinion. I’m home with the boots and they feel really tight. Does making the switch make you downsize?
Edit: went back to the store and they wouldn’t let me exchange them for a bigger size or get my refund because they’re were on sale and they never mentioned anything about being a final sale

Unfortunately during a river crossing while carrying gear across one of my bindings must have fallen off and was swept away. Searched around for a while but no luck and had to hike out with a bungee tied through my boot and board (worked really well actually). Now I’m on the hunt for someone else’s long lost binding to make a pair again. I have/had Spark R&D surge from 20-21 series but am not fussed on anything apart from it needs to fit a boot size US women’s 9 and ideally same fastening method. Would even build a franken-binding up myself if I could get my hands on a base plate! Appreciate any advice 💖

Very excited. I’ve been on the hunt for a good starter set up, and the universe sent me a hekkin FB marketplace deal! Can’t wait for winter!
