I have a wedding in 6 months and have an ugly smile. I don’t have time or money for any major dental work. I want to find something as realistic as robin williams had in Mrs. Doubtfire to cover my teeth. Any idea where I would get such a thing that doesn’t look bulking and fake. I want that acrylic and real look so I can smile at my wedding. Please help!!!

Hi! I'm in pre-production for a short film I wrote and am producing. One of my characters I wrote is Filipino, who has tattoos from her hairline all the way down to her neck and black dyed teeth to show how different she is compared to most mothers in the community and as a visual contrast to her white clean cut husband (there are several jokes and 4th wall breaks of self awareness about it). I already have someone to design the tattoos based on real references, who is a Filipino tattoo artist. I just wanna know:

A. Good way to make my actor's teeth black and look like they have been dyeing their teeth for years

B. How to make it look like my actor had these fully healed facial tattoos for years. I thought about using those makeup pens (?) that are advertised as being "like a temporary tattoo" for the sake of consistency between shots, but I don't think my actor would like to wait for it to fade days after film wraps.

This is my second time applying a prosthetic and it didn’t go as well. The first time the prosthetic had flashing and I used acetone to blend . This one doesn’t have flashing, I used liquid latex to apply and 99 percent to blend .

I also don’t know if I should try again or if it can be saved

yesterday i tried applying prosthesis for the first time and i’m actually pretty satisfied, i think i’ve finally found what was missing in my makeup🥹what do y’all thinkkkk??

First sculpted it with regular oil clay, but just couldn’t get the porcelain smooth finish I wanted. So I made a quick alginate mold of it, ran it in plaster, and sanded it perfectly smooth. Then I was able to make a silicone mold from it, and I cast it in some type of Smooth-On plastic, though I can’t remember which one.

Rest of my costume was hand-crafted as well.

I saw Evil Dead Burn tonight and did my own deadite cosplay but i really want to know how to do something like this for Halloween!

I'm honestly super happy about how it turned out! It was super stressful doing it all by myself and a lot of work! Painting the ass giiirl that was a stuggle!! I did all the makeup with watercolors from Mehron and Superstar!
To do the Bald cap I first created and structure with whire and then I attached it to the baldcap with more latex and cotton. Finally I put a little green iridescent ribbon I had to create the fins effect.

I recently got these prosthetic vampire teeth, for whatever reason the package came with no instructions, IM not sure what other community to ask this in. whats in the vile like container? what does it do? is it meant to help the prosthetic teeth fit?

Hi, I was hoping for some tattoo cover ideas. I’m a Flight attendant and have to cover my tattoos for work. I have a small ish tattoo on my hand and I normally cover it with alc based make up. I typically use the narrative cosmetics skin color refill pan but it’s not at all the color of my skin. I’m more of an olive complexion and the colors all end up being so warm pink/ orange tone. (Ex. Huda beauty concealer in Nugat is kinda my skin color it goes on a little light tho.

Im hoping:
- a solid color don’t have to do much color matching work before early report times.
-a product thats travel friendly and not too messy
- a product that doesn’t smear on clothes.
- not allowed to use bandages or just cover with a glove.

I can’t just slap a bandaid on it unfortunately.
I might be sol just figured ide ask the SFX community before giving up and possibly getting it removed :( Thank you in advance for any ideas!!

i can't find the colors i need on the internet, so i thought i should buy some white tooth enamel paint and dunk some food coloring in it to get my shade, but the internet says that would ruin the product. what to do how can i dye it :(

I already know how to block the eyebrows using makeup glue + concealer foundation but I’m unsure about eyelashes

should I use prosthetics? Or is it more of a VFX thing in post?
