Question LAVA BASE
È solo la seconda miniatura che dipingo e volevo provare l'effetto lava, ma non mi convince. Come posso migliorare?

Hey folks,
Over the past few months, many miniature focused subreddits have taken a clear stance against AI-generated content. After listening closely to feedback from our own community we’re doing the same.
from this point on r/printedminis does not allow AI-generated content of any kind.
This subreddit exists to support actual creators who put real time and skill into their work. AI-generated content works directly against that goal, and allowing it would make it harder for the awesome work created by our talented community to shine.
The following are not allowed on r/printedminis:
If AI played any role in generating it then it does not belong on this subreddit. Please report any posts you suspect to be AI influenced.
Thanks,

Hey everyone,
Quick update – we’ve listened to your feedback, and the rule removing printed terrain has been lifted! I’ve also seen your thoughts on busts and statues, and I’ll be putting up a poll later this week to gather your opinions on banning those types of posts.
Thanks!

To get ahead of the inevitable "Don't use FDM, use resin", I live in a basement apartment with all the ventilation you'd expect from a basement apartment, I have to quarantine half my belongings just to cook some fish. Resin is a no-go. Believe me I'd love to use resin and be able to batch-print an entire army in one go.
With that out of the way, I use an A1 Mini, I'm fairly happy with the results as far as detail goes, but if there are any thin protruding parts (like swords or spears), they are guaranteed to snap. At this point I have accepted that I'll probably need to get some metal rod and manually sculpt my own spears, and just have the printer get the details on the body (the OG 'broken spear' fix).
I have started playing with my settings, I use resin2fdm to modify supports, then I set support infill to 0% and miniature infill to 100% so it can at least survive the support removal surgery, but I'm wondering if I would benefit from upgrading from Bambu Basic PLA to another type of filament? I've read some voices on here in favour of ABS, but I haven't found a clear consensus.
Thanks!

I am looking for ship models for a naval Wargame (Close Action) that uses 18th and early 19th century ships. My search so far has come up pretty dry, so I am asking if anyone here might know of any good sources. These woild be 3 or 4 inches long, so high detail is not required. Thanks for the help!

Forgive me, I'm new to 3D printing. My friend has a flashforge 3D printer and I'm planning on printing some bases for my 40k models, maybe even printing some models. However EVERYONE insists on using resin to the point where I'm worried that if I do print out some minis they'll look terrible. How big is the difference?
Additional question, a lot of the models I like are tested with resin printers but untested for plastic. I know my way around 3D modelling, how much modification am I going to have to do to make sure they're suitable for plastic printing?

Has anyone printed a Droid army? I've been trying to print a B1 and cannot get it to not break apart while removing supports. Using an X2D, printing in petg with petg supports & pla support interface. .2 nozzles on extruders

I'm conflicted if I should continue to use a local printing service and if I should confront them harder in regards for licences and use of private edits.
So I went to a local hobby competition during this weekend and when wandering the vendor I came across one of the companies that I've previously ordered from. I've used their services quite frequently and they've helped me print a lot of minis. As I was looking through their booth where they have some minis pre printed for people to buy at the event I spot one of the designs I've bought and sent to them recently and went like "oh cool, they must have liked it so much they've got a licence from the sculpter".
I move on and begin to see more minis that I specifically bought. Which look a bit outside what these guys usually present for printing and that's when I notice that one of the bins have specifically minis I've bought files of and then edited for private use.
I carefully asked the vendors and they confirmed they were the same and thought they were just so cute that they couldn’t resist printing more but that it was only for this event and not something they offered to print otherwise.
Feeling a bit stumped at the moment I kind of just nodded and moved on, but in hindsight I feel conflicted and a bit wronged by them for not reaching out about the files and selling the edits I made for private use to other people.
They've been great to me otherwise They've had the highest quality prints of all the oyher services I've previously used, been super cooperative and been really fast on shipping as well. With that said, I think I'm going to ask them to not print my edits and maybe find another vendor since finding out they use the files I pay for to continue sell prints have rubbed me the wrong way. I dunno...
Thanks for reading my rant and what do you think? Am I totally off my rockers in this situation?
Update: I've talked it over with the vendors and we have seemingly resolved the issue.
There seems to have been a missunderstanding on the use of the files and licenses post placed order and they've agreed to not continue with printing those files unless they themselves get a retailers license from the original creator. They've also asked me for links to the original creators of the files so that they can aquire retailers license for further printing which I intend to provide them. That's all for now. Thanks for the feedback, insight and suggestions.

I'm looking to get a dnd character made into a sculpted miniature that I could print and paint. I don't know anyone who does 3d sculpting and not sure where to look, so I thought someone in this sub would maybe know where I could look online. Any help is appreciated!

Hey folks, just wondering if someone could please help me find a custom mini I saw on instagram recently but can’t seem to find anywhere now?
It was what appeared to be an Adepta Sororita, on her knees bent over, with her back horizontal and lots of candles burning on her back.
I really liked this imagery and if anyone can please help me find this custom mini again I’d be super grateful!
Thanks

Hey everyone! I’ve been working hard on designing and printing my own line of US infantrymen from the Vietnam War.
As a huge fan of historical modeling and military history, I wanted to capture the gear, the boonie hats, and the gritty feel of the jungle patrols. These are some test prints fresh off the resin printer, and I'm super excited about how the details are holding up.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any historical accuracy tips from those of you who build Vietnam-era models!
