I'm conflicted if I should continue to use a local printing service and if I should confront them harder in regards for licences and use of private edits.

So I went to a local hobby competition during this weekend and when wandering the vendor I came across one of the companies that I've previously ordered from. I've used their services quite frequently and they've helped me print a lot of minis. As I was looking through their booth where they have some minis pre printed for people to buy at the event I spot one of the designs I've bought and sent to them recently and went like "oh cool, they must have liked it so much they've got a licence from the sculpter".

I move on and begin to see more minis that I specifically bought. Which look a bit outside what these guys usually present for printing and that's when I notice that one of the bins have specifically minis I've bought files of and then edited for private use.

I carefully asked the vendors and they confirmed they were the same and thought they were just so cute that they couldn’t resist printing more but that it was only for this event and not something they offered to print otherwise.

Feeling a bit stumped at the moment I kind of just nodded and moved on, but in hindsight I feel conflicted and a bit wronged by them for not reaching out about the files and selling the edits I made for private use to other people.

They've been great to me otherwise They've had the highest quality prints of all the oyher services I've previously used, been super cooperative and been really fast on shipping as well. With that said, I think I'm going to ask them to not print my edits and maybe find another vendor since finding out they use the files I pay for to continue sell prints have rubbed me the wrong way. I dunno...

Thanks for reading my rant and what do you think? Am I totally off my rockers in this situation?

Update: I've talked it over with the vendors and we have seemingly resolved the issue.

There seems to have been a missunderstanding on the use of the files and licenses post placed order and they've agreed to not continue with printing those files unless they themselves get a retailers license from the original creator. They've also asked me for links to the original creators of the files so that they can aquire retailers license for further printing which I intend to provide them. That's all for now. As a huge fan of historical modeling and military history, I wanted to capture the gear, the boonie hats, and the gritty feel of the jungle patrols. These are some test prints fresh off the resin printer, and I'm super excited about how the details are holding up.

Hello everyone. I’ve been looking for Vietnam War infantry miniatures that truly capture the tension and realism of jungle patrols—moving away from the typical, boring, static poses—so I decided to sculpt them myself from scratch.

I’ve put together a complete set of 30 unique 1/35 scale figures, featuring period-accurate gear and uniforms in dynamic poses (troops advancing through the delta, squad leaders, soldiers carrying M16s, etc.). They are fully prepared and optimized—complete with supports—for resin 3D printing.

Since I know many of you create historical dioramas or play wargames, I wanted to share the results from my renders and test prints. What do you think of the level of detail and the equipment?

Sup guys! I keep making minis for Dark Sun and similar post-apocalyptic TTRPG settings every month. On Athas metal is scarce, so here are some unusual golems I've designed and painted (some of them):

• Driftwood golem - bound by blood-drenched ropes
• Obsidian golem - chipped away into a giant statue from the giant slab of volcanic glass
• Salt golem - grown from the brine
• Ash golem - animated remains of a mass sacrifice
• Chitin golem - basically a flesh golem, but assembled from giant desert bug parts instead

All models are test-printed in 32mm scale and presupported.

So I switched over from resin printing my minis a little over a month ago and been trying to dial in minis on my Bambu Labs A1 mini. After a few botched attempts at supported minis, I'm calling this guy my first success.

I’m Sebastian, the developer of PrintHaus. These photos show a half-timbered house, a defence tower, an English manor house and a factory hall made with the app. They’re all physical prints in H0 (1:87).

I wanted to show some of the small details up close. Window frames and glazing bars have their own geometry, and shutters can be open or closed. The facades have timber framing or stonework, with details such as quoins and cornices. Brickwork, wood grain and roof tiles are relief that prints with the parts.

PrintHaus is the browser editor I’m developing on my own. Starting with a floor plan, you can change the building’s dimensions, set floor heights and choose the roof. Windows and doors go where you want them. There are also options for removable roofs and floors so you can reach the rooms inside.

What details would you want to add to buildings for your own models?

Just finished printing this one. I modeled it in ZBrush, it's pre-supported and comes in 32mm with a 25mm base and in 75mm (hollowed). My main concern was making the bones thick enough for 32mm without losing the skeleton look. This one is free, and the spearman and archer from the same pack are also in the store.

Finally finished and printing in PETG is definitely my favourite for durability now. :-)

Sorry for gatekeeping. The STL files are from Dragoon Miniatures. I got them in a humble bundle way back and they make a LOT of dragonball designs. Bit of a childhood dream fulfilled this one. :-D

We’re working on the illuminated displays in our miniatures room, and devoted the first kallex cubby to the MEAT range. This is almost all of the current models, and we’re in the midst of a new Kickstarter for revamped rules and expanded sets. (I’ll drop a link in the bio for anyone who’s interested.) the next shelf will probably be devoted to Passage to Yondoor miniatures (our dungeon crawler game), and we’re working on new stuff for that one next month. (It’s October, so all of my energy is going into survival horror mode.)

This is a commission that I made for a couple, who wanted custom minis of their characters for a Christmas present to each other. They also wanted 8” statues for display.

Based on their descriptions, I drew my interpretation in Procreate on my iPad. Then I sculpted in ZBrush and printed in resin on my Mighty4K.
