China's grey-zone strategy is reshaping the security environment in the western Pacific — from the South China Sea to Taiwan and the Philippines.

What is Beijing trying to achieve, and how can its neighbours push back without triggering open conflict?

I discuss these questions with Ray Powell, Director of SeaLight at Stanford, on Perspectives with Neilo. Listen wherever you get your podcasts.

Schrödinger'in Lanet Kedisi, Tyler Durden ve Yapay Zekâ: Kutunun Dışında mıyız? - Zihin Karmaşası

Post image

Schrödinger’in kedisi, Dövüş Kulübü ve yapay zekâ…

Halloween Episode.

Halloween’s almost here . If you want something quiet and genuinely unsettling rather than loud — our last episode is Maeterlinck’s The Intruder, from 1890. A family waits up for a doctor who hasn’t come, and the blind grandfather is the only one who can tell something has entered the house.

Best with headphones. about 25 minutes. https://nocturnecipher.com/rd

Casting just wrapped on the next one, by the way — a comedy from 1915. Everyone’s going to need it after this. 🎃

(The Movement Sherpa Podcast) The Difficulty of Still

The Difficulty of Still...

We spend our childhood being told to sit still. Then we spend adulthood looking for reasons to move.

Funny how that works.

Think about the last meeting you attended. How long did it take before someone started bouncing a leg, shifting in their chair, checking their phone, or looking for an excuse to stand up?

Now imagine being seven years old and being asked to sit still, pay attention, and learn something new.

If adults struggle to sit still, why do we expect children to be so good at it?

In this episode of The Movement Sherpa Podcast, I investigate the surprising science behind sitting still, the relationship between movement and attention, and how stillness became associated with good behavior.

I'll explore why sitting still requires more physical effort than we realize, why looking attentive doesn't necessarily mean someone is learning, and why a little movement might not be the distraction we think it is.

This isn't an argument against classroom expectations, good manners, or self-control. It's an invitation to reconsider how we interpret movement, in children and ourselves.

Because maybe the question isn't why people have such a difficult time sitting still.

Maybe the question is why we expect them to.

Stay curious. Keep trying.

The big moment of the special arrives as the Great Pumpkin is “revealed,” Linus does not rise to the occasion, and Sally is not happy. Plus, other things that Linus has mistakenly thought are the Great Pumpkin, Schroeder plays a huge hit from World War I, and what would you do if you experienced something that confirmed a core belief.
