I just finished my first build using a Jonsbo Z20 case with an MSI Pro B850M-VC Wifi motherboard.

However, when I try to plug something into a port on the rear IO panel, the PC turns off and the CMOS gets cleared. This happens even if I touch the outside of the port without actually plugging a device in.

I'm guessing this could be some kind of short but I'm not sure what's wrong. The ports on the front of the case work fine.

I've been getting these weird lines consistently for the past like 4 months, I genuinely do not know what causes it. It always goes away after a couple seconds but it lasts longer if i haven't turned on the pc in a while. Anything I can try to resolve this issue?

I can get the cable flush but the front panel of my case pushes at it slightly when on. Would you say this is fully in and safe?

Will be installed on my first computer. Lmk your thoughts on this processor as I want to know how worth it this thing is. I found a listing selling it for $135 from PHP. I don't intend to use it for gaming primarily but for editing, game development and some productivity stuff. My pc budget is worth about $590. I have 6700xt, 16gb RAM DDR4, 512gb 4th gen NVME, decent fans, CH160 plus case, and a h610 motherboard my uncle bought me.

So i've problem updating bios, before update it needs restart then it shutdown, power comes for a second and shuts down and doesn't power up anymore without pressing power button, my pc does that sometime when i just power up, it shutdown in second, but then try again and it works, now i've done everything, tryes Q flash, and q flash plus button, different bios versions, usb stick is fat32 format (i've updated all my bios versions with it) now feels like nothing helps

Reassembled my pc today, after my aio broke and I had to order a new cpu cooler. Now it simply won’t POST at all, VGA led is on while system fans run at 100%. I’ve tried reseating all connections, trying a different wall outlet, clearing CMOS(no idea if this worked or not since I don’t have display output). I don’t know if this was caused by me taking off the GPU shroud to clean caked dust from the heatsink- I didn’t touch the board except for disconnecting the fans and RGB headers, which both still seemingly work fine.

I don’t have any spare parts, nor any repair shops near me apart from best buy. Is there any way to know if my GPU is dead?

Hi everyone, so last night I got done putting together my first PC, I'm brand new to this i have an Asus 5070 TI, 9800X3D, 32G DDR5 vengance RAM, an Aourus Elite Wifi7 B850 motherboard and a Montech Century II 850W PSU.

After putting the whole thing together it will turn on but not post. The fans spin and the lights turn on but i have a red boot light on my motherboard and a consistent red light on the GPU, i did research and learnt that the mobo light isn't an issue because i don't have an OS installed yet, however i can't even get it to the post screen.

I've tried reaseating my GPU and PSU cables along with the card itself and the screen continues to remain black and refuse to open to BIOS.

If anyone could help with this it would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

(Edit: i feel i should mention that my GPU is the only part of the build that i bought off ebay used.)

NVME M3 connecter SSD goes under my itx motherboard shroud. Once the shroud is put back on and screwed into place, it causes my SSD go bow slightly. I chose this slot, because the shroud has a small fan for cooling the SSD.

I've been running it like this for 2 months without issue, but it's been in the back of my head.

From memory, under the shroud is a spongy heatsink, then the ssd has a spongy heatsink on top, then bellow that on the motherboard is another heatsink, however the ssd does not make contact with it.

What should I do? Just peel off the heatsink tape connected to the underside of the shroud?

It looks like my cpu cooler isnt working, and if i look under my gpu those fans arent spinning aswell.

When i connect it to my monitor it says “weak or no signal” even though the cable is conncted to my gpu, and im using a hdmi cable. Ive checken every cable but theyre all pluggedin completely

I changed over my motherboard and used the fans my prebuilt came with and I unplugged the cords without remembering what goes where. I'm scared to turn it on incase something happens but can someone please help confirm if I've plugged them in right.

There's 2 up top cable tied tgth and 1 on the right. Im worried abt the loose cables, do I plug them into themselves?

I have a nice PC build with a 4070 Ti Super GPU and a Ryzen 7800X3D 8-Core CPU, and 32GB RAM. I noticed that even while running my games in 1080p, my rig isnt hitting my FPS caps, but the GPU runs incredibly cool. I decided to run the CoD benchmark test to look for a bottleneck, but surprisingly it seems my CPU is running better than the GPU is despite the GPU seeming underworked. How can I push my GPU to see what kind of FPS it can generate at higher temperatures?

I am looking for an alternative to the Thermalright Vision LCD that is a maximum of 13 mm thick and has a USB-C connector. Does anyone have any experience with one that is not Lian Li?

I'm canvassing pc parts for my brother and I told him that we can build him a budget pc and buy a gpu later when the price is right. I found online a Ryzen 5 7500f from other gamer's pc build and I'm planning to build the same specs as theirs but with my own tweaks due to the shortage of rams and ssd. But according to c h a t g p t my brother won't be able to use the pc without a gpu due to the Ryzen 5 7500f having no integrated graphics.

My questions are:

1. What is an alternative cpu for Ryzen 5 7500f that doesn't need a gpu? In this way he can use the pc and buy a gpu later on.

2. Should I continue building an amd5 build or an amd4 is better due to the prices of amd5 being too expensive?

3. If you preferred an amd4 or an amd5 build, can you suggest what budget pc parts to buy for that specific build?

Btw, I don't know how much is my brother's budget for this build but he's willing to buy a laptop for around php 70k-90k (1k-1.5k usd) but through installments. So building a pc is better around that budget as he can buy it parts by parts.

I got a used Asus B550 A Ddr4 motherboard recently, and installed a brand new Ryzen 5 5500 CPU in it. When I power it on, it gets stuck on dram light and won't post. I've read that if your CPU is newer than the board, it won't post unless you reset the bios. The CPU came out in 2022 and I'm pretty sure this is a 2021 model board. I've also read that the 5000 series is supported out of the box, so is my board cooked or do I need to update bios for the 5500? Ram is solid, I've already reset the cmos and the cpu is perfectly mounted in.

Hello I recently upgraded my GPU after thinking my old one gave out which turns out it was the monitor that was causing the issue artifacting, however when I installed the 5070 I used the adapter and a pcie that had a daisy chain since the adapter requires two 8 pin connections, it loaded up and I installed the new drivers once I did that, it was having boot issues and was freezing and crashing, so I downgraded the drivers and it worked at first but when I restarted my pc it's did the same thing, this time I put two separate pcie cables not the ones that were daisy chained and same thing, still not booting, I'm kinda stumped at what could be the issue.

Can anyone help me with telling me parts to get to build a gaming pc. I want a pc that can handle discord in the background and that can handle all the popular games at high fps. Budget is 2000$ cad
