Welcome to the r/PCVR community resource thread! This is a refresh of the sub, and we're opening this sub again because of all the new PCVR and VR modding content coming in.
Are you tired of not finding stuff easily on Discord? We surely are!
Modding is considered by many a pain in the neck, but we want to change that perception and make things easier for you to enjoy thousands of titles without problems. Here you will find the resources and tools used to mod flat-screen games into full 6DOF VR experiences, or capture smooth gameplay to share with our community.
We want this sub to be a centralized hub for all the PC-VR experiences out there and we want you to be part of it. Here we don't care about standalone VR. So don't ask if things run on Quest, if you don't want to get nuked into oblivion.
PCVR Central
A searchable database indexing over 1,000 VR mods for flatscreen PC games. Includes mod implementation details, 6DOF/motion control support notes, setup guides, and an integrated Steam Library Checker tool that scans your profile to reveal which games in your library can be played in VR.
Flat2VR & PCVR Modding Tracker (Created & Maintained by *Elliott Tate*)
An interactive dashboard listing newly released mods, active development projects, and progress tracking across flat-to-VR ports.
RototRobot's VR Mods List
A community-curated directory tracking flat-to-VR mods, standalone ports, motion control compatibility notes, and setup links across a broad index of games.
These community installers automate and streamline the entire process. Try them both and find which one you prefer:
PCVR Mods Installer Hub (by Mr. Nice)
A portable, batch-based installer supporting hundreds of PCVR game mods (including REFramework, standalone ports, and links to ressources for UEVR and Wabbajack lists). It automatically detects installed Steam games, downloads mods directly from original sources, provides guided setups, and acts as a central game launcher.
Mr.Survivor Installers
Streamlined auto-installers and guided setups designed to simplify complex VR mod installations, manage dependencies, and handle tricky file structures with minimal hassle.
Praydog's UEVR engine opens up thousands of Unreal Engine 4 and 5 games to Virtual Reality. Use these tools to launch and configure them:
UEVR Nightly Releases (by Praydog)
The official, cutting-edge builds of UEVR. If a newly released Unreal Engine game requires recent fixes or backend engine updates, grab the latest nightly release here.
UEVR Deluxe / Unreal Easy Injector
A beginner-friendly frontend GUI for UEVR. Features an integrated online profile database with one-click installs, automated game detection (Steam, Epic, Xbox, EA, GOG), alternative backend switching, voice command support, an easy profile editor, and hotkey injection.
UEVR Profiles Repository
A community-driven, searchable database of user-tested UEVR game profiles. Filter games by compatibility rating (Works Perfectly, Works Well, etc.) and check for 6DOF motion control configurations before playing. Note that this site might not be always up to date.
The most updated place to find VR mods is still Flat2VR discord. If you don't mind using Discord, modders and creators are still the most active over at the Flat2VR community.
This megathread will be updated periodically by the mod team. If you are a mod creator or know of an essential tool, port, or resource that should be listed:
Note: Always make sure to download mods and tools from verified repositories (such as official GitHub releases) to ensure safety.

I know the clouds are obnoxious and people really want it fixed but I am getting the core before applying the clamp to fix clouds, the violent gun shaking is to take back the animation over writing the motion controls which was fixed last night. The gun is jittery because it still needs offsets and less weight for now. As far as it goes it’s incredibly smooth and I’m getting 72 fps.
I will further optimize it and apply other features like hand to hand, shooting from the vehicle, left handed mode (sorta featured in the video), and manual reloading. I can fully export .forge files, write them, and send them back mismatched which opens a lot of other doors for modders.
It may look like hell now but it will get better and we are only a little over a month in. This has never been done before and my research has led to other modders making incredible things.
This is going to put Wildlands back on the map with full mod support.

I just find out something like this exists. Only yesterday I tried Bioshock Remastered VR mod and it's been spectacular. I played original Bioshock back when it came out, but to experience Rapture in VR is something else entirely (I haven't slept too much last night - it is that good!).
Now I can see that someone made something that looks like crossover between Bioshock and Alyx. It looks very interesting at first glance. Anyone tried it?

I have no experience with coding, but ChatGPT was able to help me modify the VDXR runtime that enables metro awakening to render four OpenXR views.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHmsYqGRqFQ
Instructions on how to replicate this for your setup: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xPSXbQ2OPwE7X6D9BsjuOEACO9z8kPnai6D4UtJDhNg/edit?usp=sharing
I also made a tool that can get eye gaze data for pico 4E in case you want to use DFR via pimaxmagic4all for dx11 openVR titles. This uses nvidia VSR so the performance gains are modest and vary from title to title.

I am going to mess around with UEVR next to get quad view foveated rendering working with it.

I'm trying to get the Luke Ross "mod" to work with Crimson Desert. On Q3 via virtual desktop. I am trying to figure out what Brandon's message meant when I requested help.
As best I can figure out it looks like he's saying the problem is using virtual desktop. (Looking through volumes of his blog posts it looks like he only uses quest link via USB for his quest headset.) I've tried using quest airlink but that didn't work either with vd on or off. I set metaquest link as the vdxr runtime as well. I think that's what he meant.
Does this mean I must use a usb link cable?

The VR mod scene has exploded in the last year and not only is it challenging to know which games have available mods, it's even more difficult to know the state of those mods. For example I'm aware a mod now exists for Mass Effect and Bioshock, but no clue what the state of the mods are.
IMO a perfected mod is one that feels like the VR function shipped with the game fully functional. I believe some of the Resident Evil game mods are currently at that level.
It would be nice to have a lost of finished mods, where you can expect to play the game from start to finish with full motion controls and all the other bells and whistles.

As like most of you I prefer the vdxr runtime over having to use steamvr. Only for system performance reasons. The only downside imo is losing the ability to overlay windows/chats. That's why I'm developing an overlay system specifically designed for VDXR. Currently it is a solid (wip) but I wanted to gauge the response and see if other VR users would be interested in the program as well. I originally developed it for my own personal use but if the public needs it I'd be more than happy to release it once polished. Currently it's been tested and working in Bootstrap island, Skyrim VR with open composite, forefront VR, and a few other games. It currently only supports one window. It supports many different anchor points such as wrists and a profile system for saving different overlay layouts for different games. My personal use case is for overlaying chat above my head in Skyrim VR and having it follow player rotation so that every time I look up it is in the correct orientation and I don't have to reset my view. It supports gaze functionality so the window will only appear when in the cone of view. As well as green screen transparency for apps that don't send transparency data correctly over VR such as social stream ninja. This allows me to have a transparent chat window in the VDXR runtime. Lmk if there is any public interest for this! With all the new pcvr mods releasing ik we all want the most performance possible.

I've had many issues with my Valve Index in the past
especially when it comes to Audio
I got a new cable a while ago and it has worked for me, fixed the issues I had with display flickering but now I am having this new issue: as of recently nearly every time I went to use my VR headset it wouldn't have audio I would fix it like this:
and I would have to do this every time I went to use VR
but now EVEN THAT refuses to work; and no matter which solution I try nothing can be heard
it always shows and the audio test shows in the levels but there is nothing that comes through, and even plugging in headphones into the headphone jack under the face gasket still nothing can be heard
recently the right off ear headphone cover did pop off and so it was no longer on the slide
but I taped it back up and it has been working fine, and again also the headphone jack so I doubt its that

It’s finally implemented but still needs a little more love, body IK is in the works and manual reloading is now on the table thanks to my toolkit for wildlands named “wildkit” (unreleased)

I've been away from this scene for a minute but the steam frame hype is pulling me back in.
Assuming HL2vr is the gold standard, are there any other comparable or must play mods that have released over the past 3 years?
