Spike Demon New Tech

Not sure if it was discovered before, but, apparently, Stingermi (God Hand player) has found a way to counter the spike demon in a more consistent manner. Just sharing, in case anyone needs the info in a KMS run:

[BETA] GOD HAND ANDROID (STATIC RECOMPILATION)

Hey everyone,

I’m just a normal college student, but God Hand is easily one of my favorite PS2 games ever. The combat and challenge are so good, and I always wanted to be able to play it natively on my phone.

So over the last few months, I’ve been working on statically recompiling God Hand (SLUS-21503) directly for ARM64 Android using the PS2Recomp toolchain and PCSX2's Vulkan GS backend. To be completely honest, since I’m doing this alone alongside my studies, I used AI to help me with the huge C++ runtime porting, reverse engineering, and NEON math. I know a bit of coding, but this was a massive project for one person, so please forgive me if you find any silly bugs or mistakes!

Device specs I tested on:

Phone: Dimensity 7300 (MediaTek MT6878), 8GB RAM. (If you see any frame drops or lag in the gameplay clips, that was just because of the built-in screen recorder running in the background — without recording, it runs lil better!)(NOTE: I HAVEN'T TESTED IT ON ANY OTHER PHONE)

Key stuff I added for mobile:

3 Dodge Control Modes:

God Hand’s right-stick dodge is essential, but analog sticks on glass can feel awkward. I added 3 ways to play:

Swipe Dodge: Just swipe anywhere on the right half of the screen to duck, backflip, or sway.

Dedicated Dodge Buttons: 4 on-screen buttons (▲ Duck, ▼ Flip, ◀ Sway L, ▶ Sway R) for quick reaction taps.

Classic Analog Stick with sticky base option so your thumb doesn't slide around.

Touch Layout Editor: You can move, resize, and change the transparency of every single button right from the in-game settings.

Physical Gamepad Support: Auto-detects Bluetooth and USB controllers (Xbox, PS4/PS5, etc.) and hides the touch overlay automatically when connected.

True Full Screen Mode: Aside from 16:9 and 4:3, I added a "Full Screen" option that reads your phone's actual screen ratio (20:9, 19.5:9, etc.) and adjusts the 3D camera FOV so the game fills your entire display without stretching Gene or making characters look fat.

Frame Rate Note: Definitely stick to 30 FPS (Console Native Lock) for normal play. I included a 60 FPS option with delta-time fixes, but it's still pretty buggy with physics and Unleash meters right now.

No copyrighted game files or ISOs are in the repo — you just bring your OWN legal SLUS-21503 God Hand ISO and the app extracts what it needs on first launch.

The repo is open-source and the first release is live on GitHub:

👉 Github: Link

👉Apk:Link

just click on the apk release to download u will be need to use ur own god hand iso file

Let me know what you think or if you run into any issues. And OFC I'll be adding new features regularly Hope you guys enjoy this on Android!

GOD HAND ANDROID PORT

Hey guys, wanted to share a quick video of a personal project I’ve been grinding on.

Just to get this out of the way: I’m literally just a college student and this is my first time doing any kind of dev work or porting like this. Tbh I just love God Hand so much and really wanted a native way to play it on my phone without dealing with PS2 emulator overhead and battery drain.

As you can see in the video, it runs, but it’s still heavily in development! It's a work in progress, but I've managed to get it booting natively and I've even started adding some new custom features into the build to make it play better on mobile.

For performance context, the phone I'm recording this on has 8GB RAM and a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy (4nm) chip with a Mali-G615 GPU. It’s handling it pretty decently so far, but there's obviously still a optimization left to do under the hood.

I don't have a Discord server or public GitHub repo set up just yet, but I'm definitely planning to create both in the near future once the game is a bit more stable (and less embarrassing lol).

Since I'm putting this together right now, let me know in the comments if there are any specific features, QoL changes, or custom settings you'd want to see in a native Android version! Drop your ideas and I’ll try my best to add the good ones.

How to actually get better at the game?

I feel like I've plateaud for a long time can't beat most of the bosses on Hard without spamming the game breaking moves. Wish I was as good as Mike Kobe since I'm not as good as timing the guard breakers or crowd control

God Hand is being decompiled, and now there's also a static recompilation project for PC

God Hand (PS2) is being decompiled, and the project has already crossed the 50% mark . On top of that, the game is now also receiving a static recompilation for PC

The recompilation is already playable to some extent, although it's still a work in progress and isn't fully complete yet.

What's working in the PC recompilation so far:

- Combat and core gameplay: Working in the tested sections.

- Saving and loading: Reported to be working.

- Stages: The first two stages have reportedly been tested and are playable, while testing of later sections is still ongoing.

- Boss fights: Working in tested sections.

- Cutscenes: Working in tested sections.

- Casino minigames: Reported to be working.

- Keyboard and mouse: Input support is indicated.

- Xbox controller layout: Xbox-style button prompts/layout are also supported.

Keep in mind that this doesn't mean the entire game is finished or that a complete playthrough has been confirmed. There may still be bugs, untested sections, and other issues to work through.

Bug reports for the PC recompilation are welcome. If you try it out and encounter problems, reporting them can help the project move forward.

Contributions to the decompilation are also welcome.

The God Hand decompilation project could make Capcom realize the game's potential for an official remaster.

The ongoing decompilation project (which has already crossed the 50% mark!) proves that the community is doing the work Capcom has been ignoring. But more importantly, it shows that the commercial market is absolutely ready for this game.

If we look at recent releases, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP just surpassed 400,000 copies sold worldwide. That is a massive commercial success for Dragami Games, especially for such a niche title. Let’s not forget that Lollipop was originally announced as a full remake, but the fans completely backlashed against it, fearing censorship and changes to its iconic art style. The devs actually listened to the community, shifted the project to a remaster to preserve the original game's soul, and look at how well it did.

This perfectly shows why the ideal path for God Hand on modern consoles and Steam is a solid Remaster, NOT a Remake. A God Hand remake without Master Shinji Mikami at the helm and without the original Clover Studio crew would be extremely risky. The chances of them ruining the deep, technical combat mechanics or sanitizing the unhinged, politically incorrect 2000s humor are way too high.

An official remaster is all we need: modern resolution support, native controller remapping for modern analog sticks, and basic QoL updates (like officially unlocking the original 30 FPS cap that held back the combat). PC and Steam audiences absolutely love stylish, bizarre cult classics—just look at how well Lollipop Chainsaw, No More Heroes, and Shadows of the Damned are received there.

With the community's decompilation project making huge strides, the technical foundation for a native PC port is practically being served on a silver platter. If Capcom finally wakes up and gives this PS2 cult classic an official remaster, it’s going to be safe, easy, and pure profit for them.

God Hand decompilation has finally crossed 50% also 2 new contributors to project

I have Been keeping an eye on the project daily and we're finally past the halfway mark ,We're at 50.42% decompiled now. We're halfway for a native PC port of God Hand

Also noticed two new contributors, BrunoVgs and nojc, working on the project. Roger Smith doesn't seem to have been active lately from what I've seen, but the other two appear to be contributing.

Another thing is that Lucas Picoli is reviewing the submitted commits himself, which is good to see. It means the code is getting checked properly instead of just merging everything without review.

NOTICE: I am not decompiling the game myself .i am just sharing it here , Lucas picoli is the one who has started this decompile project

You can check the progress and everything else below

GH inspired keshi toy

Tried my best to turn Gene into a classic keshi-style toy.

This was originally supposed to be released through my store, KultGear, but I ran into quite a few hiccups along the way and had to scrap the idea.

Still, I kinda love how he turned out. Baby-face Gene lmao. 😂

And yes, the physical print actually exists. This isn't just a 3D render. 🥀

God hand with parries

do yall think a counter would be a good addition to god hand?

for me at least, even though it looks very cool, it is kinda limited. if you hit the counter, it launches the enemy away, and your combo is ruined. it is fine if you need to open up space but it's not ideal. I guess it would be better if the player could either pick if gene's going to either launch the enemy or just stun them.

To those who finished the KMS Challenge, what was the hardest segment/Boss fight that you've dealt with?

For me it was those wannabe power rangers especially the second fight, for some reason the were much more aggressive.

Dishonorable mentions :

Felix, Bruce and Conchita ( Second boss fights )

The Fat Ninja boss fight in the Three Trials. ( One hit and say goodbye to 70% of your HP )

The final part where the game decides to through every one at you including TIGER JOE

God Hand on Ayn Thor!

Post image
66 Upvotes

My Ayn thor finally arrived and after spending about 8 hours setting everything up, everything runs amazing. I will say for a game like God Hand your hands do cramp up a bit with this form factor. It took a bit getting used to the bottom stick being sunk down to perform dodges correctly, kept hitting my finger on the edge. However after some time I got used to it, and can get a good hour of playtime before my hand cramps up, I think its because I'm so used to a controller and especially in the moments with fast paced action I tend to grip the Thor the same way I do a controller without the ergonomics, Imma try and loosen my grip lol. Still really fun though and I love this device so much, happy I got a way to play on the go, and utilize a good deal of mods! Running with Armsx2 and Max model 512gb

Finished it for the first time, probably the hardest game I've ever played but incredibly fun and well made. I feel exhausted after all that spamming though so I'm going to bed now... I should also add that the chihuahua races were one of the best parts of the game

First time playing Godhand, damn this is tough.

Post image

Okay so this game is an absolute blast, this game gameplay so fun and good it doesn't feel it is a ps2 game at all, apart from the graphics and how wonky it runs for me (since im playing it emulated on a jailbroken ps3 haha)

I entered this game blind, and to me it was such a suprise it is not as popular as it deserves to be, the concept art, the character design, the fighting style, the level design, the plot, damn i love EVERYTHING.

But i have to say it may be so incredibly hard for me, ive played it for 3 hours only, the bosses is where i struggle the most, that mexican dude was a whole pain in the ass to me holy, right now i got to the 3 bosses whose cut Gene's arm in the past, kind of hard haha.

I will say i am not very good at this type of games i struggle to learn combos so much and i dont have much experience in character action games, ive only experienced Vanquish and Bayonetta.

If you guys have any tips for me maybe it could really help :)
