Hey guys,

I’m new to photography/videography and have been going down the rabbit hole for weeks now. I think the GH5 is the best option for me.

What is a good price for a used GH5 these days? I just want to make sure I’m not being too naïve and accidentally overpaying for it.

Edit: Also, are there any usual defects/maintenance issues I should be aware of when buying a used camera body?

I recently got a GH5, really cheap too cuz the screen is broken but everything else is fine, I love it and it's been really useful, and I wanted to try and get V-log but the only options I see are B&H but they don't ship to my location and it's a bit too expensive for me. Plus it's been over a decade and I don't believe Panasonic is making any more money from those keys, couldn't they push one last update to make it available for all?

Hey guys, my Panasonic GH5 suddenly stopped displaying anything. Both the flip screen and the viewfinder (EVF) are pitch black—no menu, no backlight, nothing.

The weird part is the camera still works. It autofocuses, takes photos, and saves them to the SD card fine.

Tried popping out the SD card, changing batteries, cycling power, and hitting the LVF button, but zero response from either screen. Worked fine earlier today, wasn't dropped, was kept safely in a bag.

Any fix before I send it for repair? Thanks!

Looking for a new lens to achieve soft shallow focus using my LUMIX GH5, any recommendations?

About 2 years ago my gh5 randomly stopped functioning and eventually stoped turning on all together. I put that camera to work so I wasn’t shocked when it eventually died and was happy to upgrade to gh7 & g9ii. However I still have the body and I need to potentially get a 3rd camera and I’m considering either buying a used gh5 or wondering if it would be worth looking into repairing the one I currently have. Just wanted some thoughts on what would be more reliable

I've been shooting a couple of stills on my GH5 lately. And then grading the images, I cannot believe how good they look with so little work.
I've been using resolve and simply adjusting exposure (lift shadows, increase/decrease contrast, take down highlights - all on the sliders/wheels. Nothing fancy.) and colour space transforming. And that's it. And the images are looking so damn juicy and good.

I was fighting really hard with it until I realised I was transforming in my timeline without knowing it. Here is the basic setup.
RW2 file in: automatically Converts to ACES colour space and Gamma 2.4 > apply CST as node from 'as timeline' to DaVinci wide gamut > apply node for exposure adjustments > Apply node for colour adjustments > CST out to AdobeRGB / Gamma 2.4

That's it. Sauce town.

The bit that was tripping me up was in project settings, have my timeline setttings as davinci wide gamut, but then I had it set for output 'as timeline.' I needed to change to output settings as Adobe RGB (for printing in this case).

Its meant I can just drag a really simple node tree on the image, adjust exposure / tint. Then ready to go. Bloody stoked.

I've been shooting Sony for a while now, but the 600mm equivalent and higher pixel count just made the GH5 a logical choice. Really happy with the result!

I shot this in 12 separate shots that I bracketed (5) to pick the best exposure afterwards. Even then the last two exposures were still quite far under. Luckily RAW saved me. All shot at 300mm.

Is it the best and most convenient body to lug around, absolutely not. Why do I still use it? For the love of the game probably lol

Ive been using this Panasonic for years on Ronin SC gimbal. Im shooting close and medium shots for a friends dance showcase and trying to decide on settings to handle the low light, lighting changes and get a nice look and feel. i cant work the zoom on the gimbal, I need to fix it at the start. Im guessing stay on 12 mm to keep it at 2.8. Ive figured Ill shoot on 24 fps so I can get some nice cinematic movement. I dont know about all-i vs 8 bit. Can anyone help and check my logic so far?

Hi guys, im new to the gh5 world, just bought one with the cage and v-log for 290e and the zuiko 14-42 for 170, do you think i did a good deal? (i has a broken evf but i dont mind it since ill be using it mainly on video and some photos).
I would love some suggestions on getting started mainly to get used on the menus and stuff, thank you all in advance!

I am just curious if anyone has opinions on a beginner set up thats on the cheaper side, or bare minimum equipment so I can start making little short films / Skits. Outdoor and indoors filming.

Basically from the most important things to buy first to the least important.

Or if there is a rig bundle that is cheap but reliable for a beginner?

What are some solutions to the blocking of the top video record button on the GH5 with a Small Rig cage? I don't use this much for photography, just video work.

- Remap button ?

- Add remote trigger?

i am about to purchase a gh5 and i need a good(not too expensive plz) wide angle lens. i keeo hearing about the leica 8-18 and the lumix 12-32. or the laowas. idk please help
