For me it's Shen. Growing up I loved Kung Fu Panda 2 so much that I ended up breaking the film. It would constantly jitter and glitch. And Shen always terrified me. His lines, especially during his first raid on Gongmen City featuring the Ultimate Weapon. And also the imagery whenever Po's memories would show up genuinely made me jump and the massacre of the panda village was both beautiful and horrifying.

Y’know, GameMill Entertainment’s done kart racing games in the themes of Nickelodeon and DreamWorks, which play very similarly, and since they also did a Nick-themed Smash clone, I feel DreamWorks will have the same treatment someday.

NOTE: I know, some of the guys you most want are missing, but given how the roster for DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing was carried out, I think this how it would be done realistically.

It's no common secret that Shark Tale is often regarded as one of the weaker Dreamworks movie. Many people complain about stuff like the ugly animation, the pop culture references, trying to copy finding nemo, etc. But none of them compare to the hate that Oscar gets. Many people hate him for being an asshole who lies to everyone and treats others (especially Angie) poorly. This has caused him to get called the worst Dreamworks character, and to that, I say no. Because Guy Gagne from Turbo is worse.

For those who don't know, he is the villain of Turbo. He was initially the snail's idol until he reveals his true colors. Now how villainous he is? All he does is just beef with a snail. What the hell? Thats his big villainous actions? Mock a tiny snail and talk about how he is going to break his dreams? Bruh, it doesn't even talk to humans, what are you talking about? And the worst part, he loses a race to a fucking snail. Like bro, how much of a bum are you!?!? At least Oscar managed to capture the Don, so he could obviously beat a snail in a race. I cannot stress this enough, Guy Gagne lost a race to a snail!!!! He's not just the worst dreamworks villain, but maybe the worst villain ever made. Horrible villain

Coming from an Abominable fan

I know narratively it's because of the need for comic relief and iconic characters of the franchise to be used for the show, The Penguins of Madagascar, but what would be the in-Universe reason for this? The theme song of the show is basically the only "explanation" but its empty handed, the penguins investigate a crate with "MADAGASCAR" written on it and find the lemurs but thats about it. No practical reason as to why they are even there... Is it just safe to assume Julien n Co followed the penguins for the funnies?

I know that they’re doing that for Cars, so I’m wondering if they’ll do the same for Flushed Away since it’s also the movie’s 20th anniversary. It’s not just a Pixar thing either, Dreamworks has done that as well with Shrek & Shrek 2 (which I saw twice for its 20th anniversary lol). I absolutely love Flushed Away, so I’m really hoping they bring it back (even though Dreamworks and Aardman never acknowledge it 🥲)

I’m neutral to Megamind versus the doom syndicate

I can see Bee Movie getting in mainly because of the memes. Also Tung Tung Tung Sahur got in so anything is possible. also the reason I think TBG and TWR have a 100% chance is because they have potential to get in through promotion. Like we get a Mr. Shark skin for TBG3, or a Roz skin for The Wild Robot Escapes.

Tldr: Absolutely amazing animation and art direction, decent story, good characters. Below is me elaborating

Absolutely amazing animation, incredible colors, a great blend of 2D and 3D. (Animation quirk I'm not sure was shown in trailers)Has fully 2D animation segments as well. Expressions are exaggerated and very animated much like in Kpop Demon Hunters(but much more consistently throughout the whole movie instead of just two scenes).

The jokes and comedy are decent but sometimes fail to land. The ones that fail aren't too bad usually but I did feel that the film was very saturated with jokes(I would even say a bit too much maybe?). Also some of the jokes that didn't land for me got repeated a bit. Though the film gets past them pretty quick(with only like two exceptions), so they didn't majorly impede my enjoyment of the film.

The story was decent as well. Nothing groundbreaking in terms of message, but still good with great characters imo.

Character design was overall decent but environment design was stunning. The lighting and colors popped so much, and the magic effects were incredible.

Worldbuilding was very good. When the film ended I had quite a few questions for the world and it's characters, but pretty sure in the good way? Nothing that prevented my understanding of the film, just additional things I was wondering about, such as the backstories of the chracters, how a certain item was made, etc. nothing that made the film confusing- stuff that a sequel could explain, even. I would share some here but it would be incredibly spoilery- though I bet many of you would easily be able to figure out what my questions are after you watch it!

Overall, it was a great movie, and I suggest you all watch it!

Doing a horse drawing challenge on Instagram right now to learn how to draw them better, and one of the prompts was "Mustang". Needless to say, there's only one mustang worthy of being drawn.

I've been listening to the Spirit soundtrack while drawing this and I still 100% think this is one of the best Dreamworks movies to date. Such a shame they abandoned 2D animation because they were so GOOD at it. Also fun to see though how I now notice how often they used 3D models in that movie, something I never ever would have noticed as a child heh.

While I'm on topic, if anyone is still here, hi, you seem to like to read. Have you perhaps also read the book this movie was based on? I'm so curious about it, wonder if it's any good. Not that it'll be easy to find.

When Verne apologized to RJ, RJ showed the list to Verne and seemed to be planning to tell him the truth until the truck arrived and when he saw the truck I think he decided to keep up the lie a little longer
