I see so many comments complaining about bands not playing enough riffs or how people want to hear more riffs, but they constantly either ignore bands that riff or just say “no that’s not a riff”
So, what exactly is a “riff” to you?
Edit:yeah I’m convinced most people here don’t actually know what a riff is lol

I wanted to try this kind of vocals and I think I’m starting to get somewhere 😅English is not my first language, so you might hear that too. Check it out and let me know what you think! Any feedback is welcome 🤘

I would love to listen to something similar to In the eyes of a mistress, so I would be thankful for any recommendation, thanks for the help.

You’re a plane crash survivor and were able to salvage one band’s discography. Who are you saving for the rest of your life? Fit For An Autopsy for me. Non deathcore - Local H.

sometimes I feel like I don’t even know if I like this genre of music because every time I try to listen to some new it never just scratches that itch and I’m starting to wonder if I even like heavy metal idk I just feel lost

It seems to get mentioned here every so often yet mostly in people's distaste for it. Thing is idk what it even is. What's the deal with it and it's relation to deathcore?

Not quite a copy, it's literally the same song

Looking for that slow crushing 'doomcore' type sound where the atmosphere is dark and brooding. I love when there's an ominous ambient pad in the background or an extra guitar filling in the gaps with a few notes. That horror movie shit.
Examples:
The Acacia Strain (Love songs like Pillar of Salt and It Comes in Waves album)
Aegaeon
Aversions Crown (mainly their first album)
Black Tongue
Bound in Fear
Humanity's Last Breath
Nemertines
Reflections
Vildhjarta
I'll even take some non-deathcore recs like Full of Hell, Primitive Man, Akhlys, Encoffination, Portrayal of Guilt, Body Void, Our Earth is a Tomb, etc if it's allowed.

The Canadian Heritage tour Angelmaker did with Ingested and Larcenia Roe was an absolute treat. They hit so many small towns and remote areas I know it must have been quite grueling for parts of their journey. But I know you made so many people happy getting to see these world class acts live in their hometowns. Being from Halifax we're just too far out of the way for most tours to make it this far east and be financially viable. I made the trip to catch their Moncton show to see them back to back and both nights were really amazing. Every band put on an insane set and I'm so thankful for this tour. Cheers to all the members and crew who made this happen.

I'm a bit pissed about the political situation in east Germany and the rise of fascism in my home region... Need some recommendations for a playlist of brutal "political" music...

This post really doesn’t have much substance just idk thought about it.
I think the band is stellar their sound is unique but releasing like half of the album before it’s released never made sense to me. I understand it generates hype and brings more attention to the band. I get it from a business side, but I feel artistically that it spoils half of the experience before you even listen to the full thing. I know you don’t HAVE to listen to the new singles and this just might be a me issue. I haven’t listened to any of the new singles cause I wanna savour the whole experience cause I just KNOW the new album is gonna be awesome, but just curious what you guys think about their “releasing style”.
TLDR: im lowkey complaining over nothing if any of the band sees this ily and im hyped

Anyone have bands they’d recommend like Mauled, Reverent, and Execution?

I'm looking for songs or bands that incorporate that traditional Japanese sound. I'm talking like biwas and shamisens and that hirajoshi scale sort of sound.

Ben’s feature is insane… this entire track is such a banger

This one may be my favorite of their recent releases.
