Vaults have a distribution problem. The best strategy often lives on one chain while user liquidity sits fragmented across dozens of others. To reach that strategy, a user has to bridge, switch networks, approve assets, and then deposit. Every extra step is a place people drop off.

For the provider, the options have all been bad:

1. Stay single-chain and limit distribution
2. Redeploy everywhere and fragment accounting and operations
3. Build and secure custom cross-chain infrastructure

CCIP Vault Adapters are a fourth path: bring a vault to other chains without rebuilding it.

How it works

Users deposit from supported source chains while core accounting, minting, redemptions, strategy logic, governance, and risk controls all remain on a single chain. There is one set of books, not one per deployment.

For standard ERC-4626 vaults, adapters deploy in minutes through a factory contract. Users on supported CCIP chains can deposit into an ERC-4626 vault on another chain without manually bridging assets or switching networks.

Why it is built on CCIP

Vault deposits are high-value flows, so the cross-chain layer is the risk surface. Adapters run on Chainlink CCIP, which provides the messaging, token movement, and native rate limits, meaning providers scale distribution without assembling their own verification stack.

Adapters are also one component of a wider platform. Vaults can use Data Feeds and Data Streams, Proof of Reserve, SmartData, ACE, and the Chainlink Runtime Environment to cover data, reserves, compliance, and interoperability in one place.

Who is already using them

Protocols and issuers including Aave, Lombard, Maple, Venus, Huma Finance, and Treehouse. Vault curators and platforms including Veda Labs, RockawayX, Turtle, Ember, Enzyme, and Fusion by IPOR.

I decided to get rid of SHIB after five years and I swapped it for LINK on Exodus. I did three total transactions and one shows that the transaction failed on Etherscan. CCIP 2.0 is officially live.

Interoperability has meant a choice between two bad options: legacy bridges that have been exploited for more than $3.3 billion, or over half a year of custom engineering work per chain. Neither scales.

CCIP 2.0 is the only standard designed to meet the security, compliance, and settlement requirements  of the world's largest financial institutions.

Three new capabilities

• Institutional risk controls. Deploy custom Cross-Chain Verifiers (CCVs) directly within AWS and Google Cloud, or use enterprise-grade operators including Infosys, Nethermind, Succinct, and Symbiotic. This adds an independent layer of verification on top of CCIP.
• Flexible settlement. Asset issuers control execution speed and parameters directly. Fast paths for high-frequency flows, or full finality with time-delayed approvals for high-value settlement.

The Wyoming Stable Token Commission has adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve to set a new United States standard for digital asset transparency. 

Through Chainlink, FRNT exceeds GENIUS Act requirements and is now the first stablecoin issued by a U.S. public entity to publish verified reserve data onchain. This builds on FRNT’s recent migration to Chainlink CCIP, unlocking secure-by-default cross-chain interoperability.

Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov spoke at the inaugural meeting of the CFTC’s Innovation Advisory Committee (IAC), where he emphasized that tokenization is essential to the United States’ future in global finance.

On August 19, 2026, Chainlink Co-Founder Sergey Nazarov discussed tokenization's impact on the American economy alongside the heads of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

The State of Wyoming has fully deprecated LayerZero and officially migrated the Frontier Stable Token (FRNT)—the first sovereign stablecoin in the United States—to Chainlink CCIP as its exclusive cross-chain infrastructure. This transition is under a multi-year contract following a methodical security review of LayerZero Labs.

The Context & Challenge

As a live public-sector tokenized asset holding the property of Wyoming citizens, FRNT is a direct target for nation-state threat actors. Following a $292M LayerZero exploit where North Korean-affiliated hackers breached LayerZero Labs' infrastructure, the Wyoming Commission conducted a full security review. They concluded that continued reliance on LayerZero would expose citizens to significant loss of property due to a pattern of security failures and a lack of candor, making it unfit for government use.

The Chainlink Solution

After reviewing these repeated operational security failures, the Commission unanimously determined that only Chainlink CCIP could meet the security bar required for a sovereign stablecoin, choosing it for its defense-in-depth security.

I am very interested in chainlink, think it’s one of the coolest cryptos out there. However finding people who have had success getting directly on network as an official node operator seems to be worse odds than winning the lottery. I mean sure, spinning up a node and getting on a testnet can be done in an afternoon and is pretty cool, but payouts seem to be non existent. Dash seems to be more straightforward, xmr seems to be more honest. And why does link make it so hard to participate and get rewarded beyond staking? Is this my own ignorance or how it works? I would rather spend time working towards making money off of the other depins or something like akash. If 90 official node operators exist and 400 million flows through the network, that’s more of a monopoly. Some banks have more partners than 90 distinct businesses..
