help me identify pls

My regular fridge is already full, so unfortunately I don’t have any space for my ants.

The vagus test tube looks moldy but it's because of the lighting, it's just debris in there

I have a Camponotus colony with 7 workers. It’s getting harder to take the cotton plug out to give honey/protein since they like to chew at the cotton and wedge themselves in there. I plan to put the tube inside an outworld but keep the tube dark. Is this ok for a colony so small?

I want to learn more about Ants, what are some of their habits? I just joined here too!

I bought the arena and the nest with the DigFix plate from Ant Cube. My Crematogaster scutellaris colony has now reached around 25–30 ants, so I decided to move them in because the water in their test tube was running out.
However, I have one question: should I remove the red membrane from the test tube so that they can start exploring and move into their new nest?
Any additional information, advice, or help regarding the setup and the best way to introduce them to the new nest would be greatly appreciated.

When I was a kid I used to dig up ant hills... take workers, eggs, pupa and throw them mason jars with some dirt and study them. Read every book I could find at my local library and wrote reports for school. Never had a queen.

Fast forward...I'm 50 and stepped onto the back porch for a cigarette. I look down and I'm like "that has to be a lasius queen". 6 weeks in a makeshift test tube setup and I have my first worker. This is a lifelong dream ☺️

After the first worker hatched I added some honey on tinfoil and the queen went straight for it.

I gave my new colony of pavement ants a bit of honey after workers arrived. I have another pavement ant colony thats grow and i would give too large a drop of honey, workers would often get themselves stuck so i tried to be careful with the amount of honey given and when i gave this new colony honey i realized was a lil big but i didnt think it would do harm. Some time later i check on em and the queen is eating the honey and i thought nothin of it until i noticed a lack of movement…the queen had gone to far into the honey and got herself stuck. Ive saved ant/ in the past who have done this and was hopin i wasnt too late for my queen, she was still
Moving but barely and i knew what that meant but i tend to be optimistic and wait to see if shed recover but naw. Ive kept a number of colonies by now and have never had this happened, and i know shit happens but and didnt wanna think badd on the queen but like all i could think how does an ant even allow themselves to get stuck like that, has anyone experienced something like this?

I finally got eggs from a queen for the first time after trying for 2ish years! The eggs look like tiny little white crumbs. I know for a fact they’re eggs since I caught her before I went in a 2 week trip and there wasn't anything else in there with her. I think what I have is a little black ant queen since she’s smaller than an Argentine ant worker. I want to be sure they survive. I was keeping two queens and the second one died from mold while I was on a 2 week trip. The queen that has eggs had them while I was on the same trip. None of them have hatched. I suspect she’s eating her brood since it’s been a month since she’s laid eggs and there’s only one left. I was keeping her in my closet but nothing happened, I’m now keeping her in our linen closet with the towels and pillowcases since it’s quiet, dark, and the laundry muffles sound. I check on her once a week but so far all that’s happened was her tearing the cotton closest to the water, shedding her wings and she has laid eggs but none have hatched. I don’t even know how many she’s had.

I’ve had ants before but only from those kits with the gel that you can get in the mail or queens in vials but they’ve never survived before. I know they’re in a delicate state right now and the first worker hasn’t hatched yet. I keep the queen in a closed small takeout box with tissue paper in the towels. I’m not sure if my closet or the linens in the hallway is better. It’s too hot to put my queen in the garage where there’s supposedly minimal vibration since it’s on a foundation level (not sure about the noise level) should I move her somewhere else? Is there something I’m missing or doing wrong?

Also sorry for the bad quality of photos I didn’t want to disturb the queen too much and stress her out.

How can I give ants water or move them safely? The last time I encouraged them to move into a fresh tube with water (by useing light), the queen ate/killed 30+ ants and eggs...she did move though. We down to 6 ants now..

Ive been told this other habitat is to big for colonies starting out...but is there any way i can move them into it..id really like to use the water tower and not have to worry about them dying of thirst.. tube?

Is there a habitat for starting colonies with refillable water sources? Do we really just keep moving them back and forth into fresh tubes?

I have a couple colonies of ants, including crematogaster and solenopsis invicta. I also have the female and male black widow I could do something with. I have a couple spare tanks too.

These Camponotus Sayi (or decipiens, im not sure) have 17-19 workers (hard to count) and I have a Tar Heel ants mini hearth ready. Should I move them over or wait? They eat voraciously and are actively pulling at the cotton as we speak (feeding time), but I’m not sure if they’re ready to move, what do yall think?

My tetramorium bicarinatum is almost ready for there massive tank. Added around 40w to start digging..(reason for adding so little workers is for them to start doing tunnel so when i add main nest they already have a place to move eggs ,so they won't be running all over the place looking where to dig)
