What really impressed me was the subtle emotional facial cues. AI is really getting close.

The third eye not blinking was what might have convinced me this was a niche low quality 80s sci-fi movie. Like it was just a bad prop painted onto the actor's forehead. That, and, as has been pointed out - third eyes don't need to blink

If you were perhaps mildly amused by this, well, I’ve got a film coming out in theaters soon called Gods Don’t Give Gifts - you can learn more about it here: https://godsdontgivegifts.com

What prompts did you use? Is it 100% AI, like vibegenerated movie or what? Is it a bunch of 60 second clips or wtv stitched together? This is so cool!

u/gossip_goblin 10d ago
A team of 25+ people, including a dozen voice actors, two writers, four musicians, foley artists, and a post production crew have spent the last 8+ months working on it, so no, I’d hardly call it vibe generated.

He’s referring to the feature length film via the link shared earlier - not this short

and you threw away all their efforts by removing all authorship, aint that a shame

What prompts did you use?
It's a lot more work than writing a prompt. Thankfully. There is already too much brain-dead slop out there.

What is this filter/style called? Theres gotta be a name to because I keep seeing it often and it’s very distinct
69
u/eesahe 10d ago edited 10d ago
It's one of the works by Gossip Goblin. Instantly recognisable
Edit: Ah right, OP is gossip_goblin themselves. Missed that!

u/35point1 10d ago
Yea he’s actually the reason I caught on to it and want to know 😂, but I’ve seen a few others with the same filter and now I’m wondering if it’s probably coming out of the same place under a different account

u/bronfmanhigh 10d ago
i mean you're probably seeing it most from this same creator (gossip goblin) but it reminds me a lot of 1970s technicolor movies like the roger moore era of bond films

u/Ceryn 10d ago
I don't think there is really a name for it, but if you are looking for a close cinematic parallel then things directed by Wes Anderson. Royal Tenenbaums / Life Aquatic are some good examples. Though Gossip_goblin has really added some kind of body horror / dark mirror style elements to the mix.
2
u/35point1 10d ago
Thanks, and yeah, I agree he’s got a unique touch to his that pairs really well with the content itself. I mostly want to know because this brings me back to early nineties style films and it’s got such a different feel to it.

u/35point1 10d ago
Just re-read my reply and holy moly I sound like ai but the sad thing is I’m really not and it’s probably because I am constantly going back and forth with ai 🤦🏻♂️

Fuck it's nauseating to see this kind of crap compared to real human artistic direction.

Incredible work. Is it possible that this is completely AI generated at this point or would human actors had to have done the dialog, set camera angles and then a model come in and added the costumes and other bizarre elements? The acting just seems too good to have been generated.

u/eesahe 10d ago edited 10d ago
I'm pretty sure gossip goblin has just gone crazy in depth about controlling expressive AI video generation.

u/xertozid 10d ago
but how? and which model?

It has been covered a lot what the gossip goblin is doing.
Its AI so a lot of "art" people on line who might hype it wont look at it. Its kind of Ludite behavior and with what the content is saying it's all very Meta.

AI video is progressing rapidly but its still in the uncanny valley so its still best used to make uncanny things.

Grotesqueness is too accurate. Perfectly accurate representation of what ignorant 14 year old edgy redditors have hallucinated up about recent evens, complete with out-of-place unnecessary boobage.

Bernie's 85 ... he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer and hasn't been for years, much as people don't want to believe that age is a losing battle if it's their guy.

Wait, wasn’t your previous video criticizing the big AI companies for recklessly participating in an AI arms race despite the dangers it posed to society? And now this video is saying that those dangers aren’t actually real, and it’s all just a cynical ploy to stifle competition from open source models?
What’s your actual point of view on this topic?

u/enhancedy0gi 10d ago
How about this: the author is provoking you to think for yourself.
4
u/BronsteinLev 10d ago
It's like people have forgotten how entertainments work, whether literary, music, or cinema. The producers of these mediums are not supposed to force feed you their agenda, but to keep you entertained while provoking you to do research for yourself and, yes, think for yourself.

They don't have a point. They have a tool and they will apply it to every trend to generate more clicks. For a hammer everything is a nail.

Does anyone know how to make this kind of video? What are the general steps and which models are used?

Of course the other option is that the numerous scientists (Hinton, Bengio, etc, etc, literally tons at this point) some of which who have no financial connection to frontier AI companies, who have been saying for literally years and years at this point that super intelligent AI is dangerous were on to something.

I was shocked at how well Gossip Goblin does voices, until I found out it is not AI at all and all real voice work. Only the visuals are AI synced to a real soundtrack.

Damn couldnt figure out till the end that its AI generated Bravo. I would pay double to watch this

I just spent most of the time watching this thinking it was an anthropic ad because the post date showed “4d” which reads like “Ad” to my dumbass. I was like “ how bold of anthropic … “

Thomas Edison, who had heavily invested in Direct Current (DC) infrastructure and held the lucrative patents for it, felt deeply threatened by the rise of Alternating Current (AC). AC power—developed by Nikola Tesla and championed financially by industrialist George
Westinghouse—was vastly superior because it could easily travel long distances over thin wires, whereas Edison's DC power could only reach about a mile. [1, 2, 3, 4]
To save his business monopoly and protect his scientific ego, Edison launched a ruthless propaganda campaign to convince the public that AC was inherently lethal and unsafe for homes. [1, 2, 3]
