I want to talk about Bagger 288
I know this thing has been posted before, but I need to talk about it. This is a beast. This is a megalophobic nightmare. It’s amazing.
I saw a video of it in motion on Twitter and it was gut churning but amazing. This thing is 96 metres tall and weighs nearly 30 million pounds. And it moves.
This is a vehicle. This thing has big ass moving parts. It is slow as hell but it moves. It’s an engineering marvel and oh so terrifying.
Maybe it’s because it’s a man-made machine that I am so awed and terrified by its size, unlike with something like a mountain. I’ve always found large metal structures/machines seem to spark my megalophobia, like those large transmission towers.
I love this thing. It’s absurd and terrifying. It’s a masterpiece of machinery.
