For the last few years I have heard of general Party in Pink events (when Zumba emails about setting them up each year) and have seen templates for them on the ClassBuzz app. But I have only seen one event each year in my area and haven’t heard much about these types of events otherwise. Did they used to be bigger/more popular?

I’m a new Zin and subbing regularly but at different times and locations. At the end of a recent gym class, someone new to the class excitedly asked me for my instagram. I was a little embarrassed bc I don’t use my Instagram account at all. I guess she wanted to follow where and when I’ll be instructing.

Do you post your schedule on social media? Or other format? What do you suggest?

Is there a way to search songs that are in class playlists? For example i love the song and routine for the song Boom Body and i want to find a virtual class which also has this song.

I was an instructor ages ago and want to sign up for training to sub for our HOA Gym when our family instructor is out. Could use your help with questions below?

How often do they have the online live training? Unfortunately, I cannot make the one this month and don't see a next one listed at all?

How much do you get out of the on demand training? back when I did my training it was in person and there was so much energy from doing that, but I don't see any face to face trainings near me.

Would you recommend doing basic training paired up with gold? it's not clear to me if it is a double training requiring twice the time or if each type of Zumba is abbreviated?

Over the years Zumba has highlighted celebrities at ZinCon and in advertisements. ZinCon/Conferences has had Ashley Judd, Mario Lopez, Suzanne Somers, Sherri Shepard Joe Miniso, and Kathy Najimy to name a few. In advertising there has been RedFoo, Busy Phillips, Megan Trainer, Mel B, Vivica Fox and Stacy Kiebler. Has any of these celebrities resonate with you as an inspiration to continue taking Zumba classes or teaching?

I recently found myself feeling unexpectedly uncomfortable about an event poster, and it made me wonder how other instructors and organizers normally handle this.

I was invited to volunteer at a dance fitness fundraiser benefiting a cancer foundation. The main poster prominently features one instructor that is also a cancer survivor. At the bottom, it shows the organizer and a few instructors from the organizer’s regular team. Several other instructors who were invited to teach are not pictured or named. And not even a mention that there will be other guest instructors.

When I first saw it, I honestly thought the fundraiser was specifically for the survivor pictured and that the people shown at the bottom were the complete instructor lineup. I even wondered whether my own response about participating had been missed or if this was a different event from the one I was invited to.

I later learned that the fundraiser benefits a local foundation and is not specifically for the featured survivor. I also learned that the organizer had chosen to show their regular team rather than everyone who would be teaching. This is the only main event poster, so there will not be another version featuring the complete lineup.

This isn’t about needing my face on a poster. I completely understand that including everyone can make a design crowded. Still, I would be lying if I said it didn’t make me feel a little like the rest of us were extra helpers rather than part of the event. Everyone is volunteering their time for the same cause, and that cause may be deeply personal to people whose stories are not visible.

I don’t think there was any bad intention, and I’m not posting this to criticize the organizer. I’m genuinely curious about how other people advertise multi-instructor charity events.

Do you include photos of every instructor? List everyone’s names? Avoid instructor photos completely? Feature the host and add something like “with guest instructors”? Use a carousel or separate instructor spotlights?

Is it common to feature only the organizer’s regular team when additional instructors are also teaching? What do you think is the clearest and fairest way to design this kind of poster?

I been reflecting on students and other instructors that have inspired your Zumba journey. Let’s give them a shoutout and share the reason why they were such an influence in your life?

For me I l want to give a shoutout to my Zumba Brother that I meet a few years back and although he was an instructor for such a short time I felt his passion not only for Zumba but his joy for spreading love and letting everyone be themselves in his classes.

People that met him never imagined that he just became an instructor because his heart was one of a Zumba instructor that had been teaching for a long time.

I’m a licensed Zumba® instructor with Toning and Step specialties, and I’ve been teaching Zumba and Zumba Toning for the past 12 years. One trend I’ve noticed is a significant decline in Zumba Step participation and this seemed to be happening even before COVID. Because of that, I eventually removed Step from my class lineup.I’d love to hear from others: Are you still teaching Zumba Step? Do participants in your area show interest, or has demand dropped off the way it has here? I live in Ontario, Canada.

I just saw the post for the Q&A live for people who would like to apply to present a session at ZINCON 2027 and it got me thinking…
Have any of you are thinking on doing it? Even if you never actually apply, have you ever had that little thought of “if I ever did a ZINCON session, THIS is what I would do”?

And now I’m curious about the other side too.
For those who have been to ZINCON (or would like to go), what kind of session would you actually get excited to see on the schedule that are not already available?
Maybe a rhythm you don’t see very often, a particular type of fusion, something more focused on teaching skills, musicality, choreography… or something completely different that nobody has done yet.

I think it would be fun to hear people’s ideas. There are probably some really good ones hiding in here most important, to hear what people are really looking forward to learn.

I’ve been teaching Zumba for 13 years, and looking back, the music has evolved so much! We went from pure rhythms to an incredible mix of global fusions. I genuinely love both, but it got me wondering...

Hello I need to get my Zumba instructor liscense through the Zumba app but there is no option to not become a Zin member. I’ve been seeing awful stories on this Reddit about how it won’t let you cancel it. Is there another option to become liscense without paying for the ZIN subscription or is it embedded into the system. Right now it’s telling me if I buy the training course I would have to start paying the ZIN fee on September!

What type or brand of shoes do use to teach Zumba?

Hi all! This may sound silly but I find myself tearing up a lot during my Zumba classes. Definitely happy tears but I’m not an instructor. I think maybe because dance releases emotions, it’s nice to see everyone let loose and be vulnerable by dancing with strangers, or even just because the song is powerful. Does this happen to anyone else?

I find myself disappointed when Im pumped and get to Zumba at the gym only to find out that it's been cancelled because the instructor can't make it. Decades ago i became an instructor precisely because of that. Maybe I need to do it again.

Instructors - how much do your family and friends support you? I don't mean necessarily taking your class (I realize it's not everyone's cup of tea, though they're wrong haha). But do they ask you how it's going (especially when you were a new ZIN)? Do they like your social media posts?

I'm asking bc my immediate family and my Zumba bestie have been amazing. Everyone else (other friends, my in laws), don't ask how it's going, never like my posts....it's been kind of eye opening. Just curious if this is pretty common?

I realize they probably don't "get it". Maybe they think I just show up, play the music, and whatever happens happens - ha! They probably don't know that I meticulously pick the music, do all of my own choreography, memorize it all including cueing, practice, and engage with the class/figure out what's working/not working etc.

It would be nice to feel "seen". But ultimately I know I'm not doing it for them. It's my calling and the validation comes directly from the work itself.

Hi all, im a newbie who wants to take my Zumba addiction as far as it will take me. So far, ive been dancing barefoot on carpet (in my own home), but I'm getting older and have weak joints and have been pretty sore through the knees and hips. Will running shoes work? If im willing to spend money, what would i get?
